Facts About Amazon Basics 3.5 mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Cable, 8 Feet, 2.4 Meters

What is the diameter of the head connector? The part that says “Amazon Basics?”

7 mm. That is 0.275 inches. That’s the reason I bought these cables!! I have some old Logitech noise cancelling headphones that have a narrow shaft for inserting the cable lead – and most 3.5 mm cables have a shaft that is to large to fit. These work great !!

Will this work with a LG G4?

Yeah

You should be able to. It will operate in mono or stereo, depending on the source. Shouldn’t have any problems

Will these work with a Lifeproof case? Or will I have to remove the case to attach the cable?

No, this cable will not work with a lifeproof case.

Is 3.5 mm exactly the same as 1/8″?

No. It’s not. The 3.5mm jack/plug size is considerably larger (.012″). You will have problems trying to interchange the two. 1/8″ is .125″. 5.5mm is .137″. Metric and fractional measurements can sometimes be mixed. A 1/2″ wrench will usually work on a 13mm fastener. In products I have used, in the case of 3.5mm… No. It’s not. This cord will connect any “3.5 mm” headphones. hope that helps.

Info About Amazon Basics 3.5 mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Cable, 8 Feet, 2.4 Meters (Reviews From Amazon)

Great cable–with a hidden feature

This six foot cable worked perfectly and is well made, but it was too short, and instead of doing the right thing and exchanging it for a longer one I strung it between the computer and the TV, letting it hang a few feet above the floor. I now have a ten foot cable that lies on the floor, so I’m just copying the party of the review of that cable that talks about what happened when I tripped heavily over the too-small one:

“The AmazonBasics cable is very sturdy, but I did manage to break the first one I bought because at 6 feet it was too short to lie on the floor, making it inevitable that I would eventually trip over it. Frankly I was happy that the displayport plug on the 6 foot cable broke off instead of knocking the computer to the floor. Fortunately the 10 foot cable lies on the floor, and now I’m a happy little camper. I have several other AmazonBasics cables which have never given me any trouble, so I’m confident that this is the last cable I’ll need.”

As you can see I consider it a feature, not a bug, that the mini displayport plug broke off instead of crashing my computer to the floor after I blundered heavily into it. You may prefer that your cables survive your equipment, but that’s up to you…

Five dollars well spent!

I bought this aux cable to use with my Samsung Galaxy S9 and my aftermarket car stereo.

After initial, careful opening of the cardboard box, I found the the cable neatly coiled in a circle with two lightly wrapped twist ties inside an unsealed plastic bag. The cord itself seems fine enough, but I could immediately tell it is very inexpensive material, which is fine, remember this cable was $5.00. The connectors looked and felt very nice for what they were and should get the light-duty job done for me. The connectors fit appropriately well into my devices.

I think the sound quality is fine and I have not had to spin the connectors around while music is play. Granted, I am not a good sound quality tester as the speakers the music is playing through are 18 years old. Still kicking!

Good AUX cord

I bought this AUX cord for my car in Jan 2018, it’s now Feb 2020. So over 2 years of pretty consistent use, and constantly sitting in a very hot/cold car throughout that time. It seems to have held up, it works fine still. One of the silver parts that plugs into the AUX port of your car/your phone has started to wear down some, you can’t see the AmazonBasics logo anymore. It’s only on the side that I use to plug into my phone, it’s probably gotten rubbed off from people sitting on it and stuff. Otherwise, the cord part is unmarred and it works. It does what it needs to for the fairly cheap price. 5/5 stars.

Works with iPhone Cases to perfectly plug into 3.5mm jack

Great AmazonBasics 3.5mm two-foot cable for five bucks. Got this for connecting from the earphone jack on my iphone to the aux jack in my car. What is nice about the plugs for this cable is that they each can fit in the hole on the case/bumper going to snuggly insert all the way into the earphone jack on my iphone. my OTHER old 3.5mm cable barely makes it in and as a result loses connection once in a while. But the plug for this new perfect AmazonBasics 3.5mm cable fits nicely in the hole in the case/bumper going to the jack on my iphone. Highly recommended getting this 3.5mm cable.

Shiny and blasting!

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this for my switch as my phone doesn’t have a headphone jack which sucks, but aye what can you do. It came in a small flat box. decent size for the price.

Sound – It sounds great. In the view I plugged it into my Anker speaker and as you see by me playing around on fire emblem. It comes through nice and clear. Straight up no static at all. plugging it in and taking it out you still get no static like other plugs do. As it does it’s job well.

Looks – I love the shine it has to it. It really feels like it was polish and looks very expensive, but it’s not. You can curve the cable without worrying about it breaking as it has some strength to it.

Couldn’t believe the difference

Bought these for my Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 headphones which sound good but have very thin cables. It’s hard to find cables that have a harness around the jack that fits inside the headphone, I’ve tried a bunch. Not only did these fit perfectly but the sound quality is exceptional! I didn’t think these headphones could sound better, but now the audio sounds even clearer and louder than before. Very happy with these!

Nice cable

This cable seems well made. I use it to attach my phone to the car stereo. The last one I had was very stiff in cold weather, but this one is much more flexible. The plugs seem solidly attached. Due to these factors, I think it should last, but I didn’t rate durability because I’ve only had it a few weeks: time will tell. I didn’t rate cord length because this cable is a little shorter than I would like. This is no fault of the product, When ordering, I underestimated the length I would need. It is still useful, just slightly inconvenient at times. Overall good product!

Well built. Sounds fine. But it’s most important feature is something else entirely.

There isn’t a huge amount to say about this aux cable. It’s adequately well built. It sounds fine. But the connectors at the end are thin enough to allow it to be plugged in through the headphone jack opening on most smartphone cases. No more taking my phone partially out of its case to plug it into my car’s aux. Seem inconsequential? Maybe it is, but I think, at this price, it’s an awesome feature. Just one of life’s small annoyances eliminated at a very reasonable price. This isn’t just a cord. It’s a VICTORY.

Nice cord

This cord was purchased because the one that came with my headphones was sticky and inconvenient. This is the kind of cord I like, and it fits well with my headphones. Notice that I am unable to account for microphone adaptability (for lack of a better term). I never use my headphones to talk; I just use them to listen. All I wanted was a cord that looked just like the one that came with my headphones. The sound quality is excellent, and it’s just what I was looking for in a cord. I really appreciate the angle end, as the one that came with my headphones had two straight ends, which was inconvenient. This cord is much superior to the one that came with the $90 headphones.

Good

Definitely a cheap feeling cable but it does the job. As long as you don’t yank it out of the port you should be fine. Durability will completely depend on how rough you are with your cables. I got the 6 foot one to use as a patch cable between 2 different audio interfaces. It works and doesn’t have any interference. Sound quality is just as good as pricier cables. Cord length is exactly as I needed. Make sure you measure how much length you actually need because I found that it was a little bit longer than I needed so I coiled the cable in the middle to reduce the length

Conclusion

In conclusion, Why pay so much for a stereo cable when you can get one that’s half the price of the Apple or Beats branded cables? And, unlike those cables, this one is 100% compatible with Apple products.
