Yes, it works with the Surface Pro 4. I have not had any issues connecting to monitors and TV’s. However, note the description which says this works with up to 1920×1080 resolution. I failed to pay attention to that (my fault, not Amazon’s) and am ordering a different cable that will support my 2440×1560 monitor.

Your computer should support it if you have a config with HD Graphics 5600 or 6000, if you have 4000 it’s likely to not

I have a surface pro 2017 (or pro 5 if you wanna call it that), and it works quite well. It should work pretty well with the 6 since there has been no major upgrade to the ports from the previous models.

does you’re surface 3 have windows 8.1..i bought a USB # to HDMI and it blicks..i only spent 15 bucks on the adapter but over 400 for the flatscreen idk what it costs i want a cable that works..im sure fresco could walk me thru it but id rather use my Mini DP 1.2

The thing about this cable is you have to put it a certain point for it to work. It doesn’t have anything to do with the length of the cable. It’s the port that doesn’t connect properly.

Just needed this cable to hook up my MacBook Air to a external monitor. It has an awesome build quality( as do all Amazon Basics products do) that does an awesome job for what i need it for. I would highly recommend this product if you need to hook up your MacBook Air or Pro to an externtal display using the thunderbolt to HDMI.

This AmazonBasics Mini DisplayPort is perfect for connecting your MacBook to the TV or a monitor. It is as easy as plug and go. I have used this for a few months and the quality is still there with no problems with the cable. The cable itself is very sturdy and can withhold quite a bit of bending. I use mine to plug into the the television so I can stream some items from my computer.

I got the 6 feet long cable and it is enough for me to sit on my couch and control my computer with. I think it is never a bad idea to get something longer since you can just wrap it up a little if you don’t need the whole length. The plug into the computer works great even though the DisplayPort side may seem a little bulky. I had no problems with that. If I had one complain, it would be on the DisplayPort side it doesn’t show which side should be up. On one side is a DisplayPort symbol and other side says AmazonBasics. It seems a little confusing. My last cable broke within a few months and was flimsy so I’m really happy with this cable. Overall, a really solid 5 star product that is doing what it should.

My primary computer failed and I needed to use my Surface Pro as my primary system for a while. I had a dock for the Surface, but that only gave me a single external monitor so I purchased this cable to connect to the Mini DisplayPort on the Surface for a second display. The cable was very sturdy, fits snug but not overly tight and worked perfectly. If you need a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable this is a great cost effective option.

This is a display cable, pretty simple, it either does or doesn’t do its job, meaning it is great or it’s a disaster. In my case, I bought this really cheap, undoubtedly because in 2021 the MiniDisplay port is an old, dead connection. My use for it is for an old MacBook Air from 2012, I didn’t bother buying an adapter because I saw no point in having one, better to have this cable for a single use and that’s it. Connected to a FHD monitor works at 60Hz no problem whatsoever, I even tried it on a 4K 55″ inch TV and it worked at 30Hz good until you push the machine too far at these resolutions, a limitation from the MacBook itself, not the cable of course. In any case, the cable does its job, seems sturdy and durable, works smoothly.

My new computer came with an NVIDIA graphics adapter which had 4 mini-display ports. The monitor had ports for HDMI, VGA, and full-size display port. Did the vendor send me an appropriate cable? Nope! I got lots of cables with the monitor but nothing that would go normal Display Port to mini-displayport. I could not find a DisplayPort to Mini Display Port cable, but this cable came close as it does Mini Display Port to HDMI. It arrived quickly, it was solid and well built, the connectors were of good quality, and then I plugged it in. Everything worked perfectly! Picture quality on the monitor was excellent, audio was wonderful, and my wallet appreciated their affordability! It has been several weeks now and I’m still very pleased with the performance of this cable.

I used two of these to connect my Microsoft Surface Pro (via dock) to 2 external monitors.. when I’m at my office, I close the Surface screen and use it with the dock and two monitors with external USB keyboard and mouse to feel like a standard desktop when I want it to. I can’t speak to longevity as these were new in March 2019 however I was impressed that they worked immediately and I had no issues with setup. Will update in future if any changes but for now very happy with price, delivery & function.

I purchased a USB to HDMI adapter here on amazon that had pretty good reviews. Unfortunately it did not work for me. I had an output next to my USB input and didn’t really know what it was. So after investigating I found out it was a mini displayport output. I saw the great reviews for this cable so I figured I would give it a try. It worked great with my surface laptop 2. Great picture and the quality seems very good also. Now I can stream Sunday ticket right to my TV.

Recently I purchased a projector and was really looking forward to watching shows and movies on Netflix and Hulu with it. However, I realized that due to copyright issues, the projector cannot play any streaming sites through screen mirroring or through connection with my phone. I was about to purchase the Mini Display Port on the Microsoft site for $40, but then I decided to check on Amazon to see if I could get in quicker due to Prime 2 day shipping. Then I stumbled upon this product! $10! This was wayyy more cheaper and it does the same work as the Mini Display Port from Microsoft that was $40! This product is for sure worth it and the cord is long so you can place your laptop at a good place! Really recommend to anyone that wants to use their Surface Pro with a projector or any HDMI type of device. A great price and does a wonderful job!

Works great. Use mine for 2 external extended displays on my 2011 iMac 27” i7 in my studio. I was using Fanco USB to HDMI adapters that required firmware for a long time. And they were 50$ each. Running Pro Tools (industry standard recording software) i checked activity monitor and they were bogging my system down by nearly 50% cpu power. Running two of these mini dp to hdmi cables, via thunderbolt 2 ports, for like 12$ (bought them renewed) my computer hardly acknowledges how much cpu they require. Next to nothing. Pro tools runs like a dream now. Wish I’d have known this sooner. I honestly feel dumb it took me so long. Buy um.

My Video card came with mini display port and my monitor has HDMI. These feel quality and connectors are plated with the good stuff. I liked it better than plugging my old HDMI cable into a pigtail adapter. There is only one downside to these cables. They Do Not have a thumb screw to secure them in the mini display port. It’s not a big for me, because my wire runs are protected. Not having to unscrew cables makes my R and R easier for maintenance.
