I purchased my cable on June 22nd. On August 22nd, the cord is not working. My devices are saying it is not compatible.

Mine only lasted about 3 months before it started being crazy. It would make my phone say it wasn’t an authorized device for my iPhone. Then it would not charge consistantly. It woulda le my phone flash because it would work and then not work over and over. You should use your apple charger or buy a new one to protect your investment. Apple’s cords fall apart, and various brands will work.

The expanded product description claims “lifetime warranty” so I’ll assume Amazon will honor that claim.

You bought your cable for $12 and change from Amazon Basics.. the text says that you get “free return service”. I would go to where you can review previous orders, select “returns” and follow the instructions. If all else fails, call customer service. Process is really pretty straightforward.

A common issue I had with factory apple charging cable was that it’s made from plastic and not flexible wires, and it’s also limited to the length of the wire it comes with. Once the materials used for the factory wire wears out, it starts breaking or messing with internal wires because of the amount of flexing it’s done through the years. Amazon basics charging cable far exceeded my expectations because of the quality, the sturdyness, and for how much I paid. I roughly payed $13 for the 6 foot options and on the Apple store it will cost you $29 plus tax same option! The funny thing is that you are paying for the same factory wire that will only last you a year till it’s starts cracking or internally not working. As you can see in the pictures, amazon basics makes apple look inferior in all ways. For physical description about the item, the wire bends as if you were bending a hangar, so you can mold it into what ever angle you want it if you desire. The end pieces like the lighting connector or the usb connector are made from aluminum which looks really sharp and modern and not cheaply made! The last thing I can think of is that once you plug it in your phone, it feels sturdy and won’t move side to side which I assume because of the better material used.

This is a great quality charging cable.
Works better than any other off brand we have tried.
Now we have 6 in this house so that everyone has their own.
Charges almost as fast as any original cord we have used.
The ends are nice and secure when in use.
I find that the braided cables simply out perform any other style for our kids.
Nice that there are different color choices too.
Overall this one is simply the best we have tried.

I purchased this 6ft replacement iPhone charger after my Apple iPhone charger kept giving me the error message “This accessory may not be supported” error message. After reading the product description and reviews, I purchased this charger. It charges my iPhone quickly and is extremely sturdy with a braided durable cord that is well made. It plugs snugly and firmly into my iPhone much better than my Apple charger and the 6 ft option is a wonderful length. I am extremely happy with my purchase and will purchase additional chargers as well for the other iPhones in our family. This charger is a much better quality than other chargers you can purchase at other retailers. I highly recommend this charger.

This charger is great! I’ve been looking for a reliable charger for a little while now that doesn’t break within a week and this does it for me. It’s also true to picture and length.

I love Amazon Basics brand as it is typically a great value for the money. This product was no exception on the face of it for how cheap it is and for a braided cable and the length. Braided cable is the way to go as the typical hard rubber/plastic cables are terrible. They crease, get kinked, and tangle way too easy. The braided cable doesn’t do any of that and it just has a great feel to it. I ordered the red cable to sort of stick out so I know which cable is mine in the house, and it’s actually a really nice color of red. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is that after about a month of using it every day (it is my bedside charging cable) it is starting to do what my other Amazon Basics cables have done on me, pull away from the phone rather easily. I don’t know what it is but this isn’t the first Amazon Basic cable that has done this to me. Cord plugs in nice and firm, so you think, you pick up the phone and hear that noise that it has come unplugged, give the cord an ever so slight tug, and out it comes. The charging cable still works and as it is my bedside plug I don’t need to have it do anything but sit on my night stand. That’s why I gave it 4 stars, it still works just fine. But if it coming unplugged is indicative of your experience too, and you need this charger to be a bit more “rugged” then you may want to bump up in price and name brand.

Boy I feel like an idiot! Turns out that the reason the cable was falling out easily was the phone case. This wasn’t obvious at first because the opening on the case for the charger is plenty wide enough and doesn’t hinder the plug at all. Where it was apparently not open enough was the top and bottom of the opening, but just barely. It slid in and out with no problem and no force required so I didn’t realize that it was juuuuuuuust too slim of an opening that caused it to keep from securely going all the way in the phone and securing itself for a good charge. There is nothing wrong with this cable as I’ve given it to my wife and it holds absolutely fine on her phone. I had updated the star review from 4 up to 5 due to this.

We have replaced ALL the cords in our house and cars with these. They last a long time. They don’t fray. You don’t get that message on your phone “this device isn’t recognized by your phone”, and therefore doesn’t work. My mom tried a cheaper one at the beginning of the year because “look they’re pink and come in a 2 pack for less money”, I warned her. Well it’s not even 8 months later and the 6’ one isn’t charging anymore and the small one in the car you have to jiggle to work.

We have had nothing but great experiences with the Amazon Nylon Wrapped phone cords. They are the only chargers we use anymore. Those crappy cords that come with the iPhone we just keep those in bags for emergency chargers and if it gets left, oh well.

First off I’m sad to see so many reviews saying this was not compatible or working for them. I have had the complete opposite encounter with this product. I bought my charger a year ago and it is on it’s last leg, but it’s still kicking. This is actually the longest lasting charger I’ve purchased.

I came back to buy another one, since it’s slowly unaliving on me. But, it has worked for over a year so I am definitely purchasing the same one.

The cord is thick, strong, durable. I’ve accidentally shut it in a door.. I’ve dropped it a bunch of times.. I wrap it (I know we’re not supposed to but meh) every time I leave the house. But, it is still working. If you want a charger that lasts a life time I suggest buying another product but if you want one that lasts at least a year or longer, this is the product for me. And given the fact that I wrap it, that may or may not have been an added knife to it’s lifeline being cut shorter than intended by the company /: ha, sorry.

But yes, this charger was purchased in fall of 2020 and it’s now fall of 2021 and I think that’s great that it even lasted me this long. I’ve spent hundred if not thousands on chargers in the last few decades, between apple and other companies, but this is by far my favorite. Never judge a book by it’s cover. Sorry it did not work for some of yall. It however does works for me, so ima stick beside em. 🙂

I’ve ordered this same cord in a shorter length and different color before, and it worked so well I ordered another one but in the 6’ length. Unlike the charging cord that comes with the iPhone, this one is very sturdy. The braided cord is thick but flexible, and both ends fit securely into their respective ports. Charging seems to be as fast or faster than the OEM iPhone cord, and will probably last a whole lot longer. Comes with a handy little Velcro cord wrap, too.

This cable is absolutely incredible for the price. The cable is way thicker than I thought it would be and is very durable. It charges fast and the length is very useful. When I first ordered this cable, the one I received was defective. I contacted Anker support and after answering some verifying questions and providing proof of purchase, they asked for me to send the cable back to them so that they could investigate the issue and send me a new cable. Due to circumstances, I was not able to send them the cable and they then offered another solution where the USPS would pick up the cable, but my address was not eligible for this service. I told them that it was not their fault and that I would just eat the cost of the cable, but they were persistent in solving the problem and told me to just send them a photo of the cable cut (the durability of this cable is insane, I struggled to cut through the cable). I then sent the requested photo and they sent me a replacement cable. This cable is just as advertised and I am so glad that Anker stands by their products and were so persistent in helping me.

I bought this charger for a friend of mine who owns an iphone. He isn’t the most caring person, when it comes to his chargers. He always abandons them on the ground, stepping or rolling his chairs over them and therefore always breaking them within weeks of use. This charger hasn’t been treated any differently than the previous ones. But it still works fine. Definetely good quality material here. I recommend.
