Yes that is what I currently use, Cable with display port from processor to monitor with HDMI input.
Absolutely not. Per the cable specs “Note: The cable is not a bi-directional cable—it can only convert signal from DisplayPort to HDMI.” I did not realize this and got one to connect an HDMI on the computer to a regular DisplayPort monitor, it completely fails. Like the cable is not connected at.
No it does not. Check with the cable manufacturer.

Good luck!
Yes. This cable support 3840×1440 at 60Hz or 4K at 30Hz or 3840×1600 at 30Hz.
No problems for me so far
It’s uni directional. Does your kindle has a do port? Or hdmi port? You need for a kindle the same port it has mini hdmi? USB-c? Thunderbolt? To hdmi.
You mean you already have a thunderbolt to DP adapter, and you want to convert the DP to HDMI? I would bet that will work.
Yes
I guess if you had a 30-foot cable there might be a tiny bit if signal loss, which might show up as digital artifacts? But this cable isn’t anywhere near long enough for that. The picture was crystal-clear, neither better nor worse than with HDMI.
I don’t own an XBox One, so I don’t know. However, it will connect anything that will receive an HDMI male plug on one end and a Display Port male plug on the other. Mine was 25 feet BTW and worked beautifully.

If I understand your question. I have to say no. I would use specifically a usb/hdmi cable for your application.
Doubt it. Laptops don’t usually accept inputs.
Info About Amazon Basics Uni-Directional DisplayPort to HDMI Display Cable [email protected] – 6 Feet (Reviews From Amazon)
Cable works as described, but note that it is uni-directional. It will work with DisplayPort as the output and HDMI as the input. It is described this way as well, but my intended use case was the opposite. I’ve never heard of a one-way translation for digital video signals, but that does appear to be the case. I verified this worked fine from a Dell docking station (DisplayPort) to a Dell 4K display (using HDMI input). Using the DisplayPort input on the monitor and HDMI output on a laptop did NOT work. Not deducting stars from the rating due to my lack of knowledge on the reverse not working, but writing this review in the hope that it prevents someone else from encountering a similar issue.
Long story short, this is a cable. It appears to be well-made and it works, which are all one can ask of a cable, hence the five stars.
For purposes of context, I used this cable to replace the combination of an HDMI cable, and a DisplayPort to HDMI dongle, to connect the DisplayPort video output of my computer to the HDMI input of my LED monitor. I’d been having intermittent problems with the monitor blanking out or losing sync, as well as startup delays during which Windows seemed to be looking for something, both of which seemed to be related to the dongle; so I decided to try this cable instead. It seems to have solved both problems quite nicely. Yay!
While reading through the reviews, however, I noticed that some people said this cable didn’t fit, didn’t work, or reduced the video resolution. I believe most of those folks simply bought the wrong cable. Let me try to simplify things a bit.
1. This cable is designed to connect a full-sized DisplayPort output (for example, on a computer) to a full-sized HDMI input (for example, on a monitor, television, or projector). If that is not what you are trying to do, then this is the wrong cable for you.
2. The source (for example, a computer) must be DisplayPort, and the destination (for example, a monitor) must be HDMI. It will NOT work in the opposite direction. In geekspeak, this is a unidirectional cable, not a bidirectional one.
3. If you’re running your display at 4K/UHD (3840 x 2160), then this cable is NOT what you need. 4K requires an HDMI 1.4 cable. This cable is only rated to work at resolutions up to FHD (1920×1080).
Finally, please note that you do NOT need a DisplayPort to HDMI dongle if you use this cable. This cable replaces both the dongle and the cable. So if you’re currently using a dongle / cable combination, remove them both before installing this cable.

Did not work for what I needed, but I didn’t order the right cord. This will only work with the DisplayPort as the video source and the HDMI as the output. It doesn’t work the other way around. That being said, It was a quality cord that worked well when I used it correctly. Worth the price if your video source is a Displayport
Bought a new computer that had 2 HDMI ports. I was excited because I figured it would make it easy to set up my 2 monitor rig. It was easy, and it worked great, until I ran into a glitch with Lightroom (photo editing). Turns out that one HDMI port was connected to my graphics card, and the other HDMI port was connected to my processor (integrated graphics).
Lightroom needs both monitors to operate off of the same card, so I needed a new solution. Since my graphics card had multiple DisplayPorts, I just used these cable to connect to the HDMI ports on my 2 monitors. Works great!
Recommend.
Does the job. I purchased this for my first ever computer build, which is a hackintosh (self built computer running Mac OS instead of prebuilt by Apple for about 3 times the price) and wanted to try a dual screen setup for my music station and it works as promised going from display port (out) to hdmi (in) allowing me to go with slightly less expensive tv’s (via hdmi) instead of dedicated “computer monitors”
I purchased this cable because my new computer does not have an HDMI port rather it has DisplayPort. Therefore I needed a DisplayPort out to HDMI in cable or a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter as I wasn’t sure which I needed. I took a chance and purchased this cable in the hopes that this would work for my setup. When I first plugged this cable into my HP mini computer and my Asus monitor, I encountered a very strange glitch and at first I thought this was the wrong cable. When I first plugged this cable in, I got nothing but static on my monitor when I first powered the computer on. I resolved this issue by changing the input source of the monitor then changing it back to the input that the computer was connected to. This issue still happens from time to time but since I am able to clear the static and get a picture but changing the input then changing it back to the input that the computer is connected to. I am not sure why this occurs but I am leaning towards the possibility that there is a very small incompatibility issue between my Asus monitor and my HP mini computer.
It’s a cable. Nothing exciting, it just quietly does it’s job piping the pixels out of the back of my work’s PCs into their screens.
Does it make them stronger, brighter, faster or more attractive to the opposite gender? Do pixels even have gender identities or am I qualified to judge? These and many other questions are completely irrelevant.
Buy these to to connect your computers to your screens if your computers have a Displayport hole and yous screens HDMI these are the wires you want. Buy in bulk and save a few coins. Stock up for the Zombie apocalypse. Unless you only have one or two screens then just by them singly you don’t need 10 packs like my work did. So use your best judgement. Or buy more and save. It’s your decision and I support that.
Amazon offered me a small `bribe’ in exchange for this review otherwise I might have been too lazy to bother to write one. Most people probably are too. It’s not the fault of these cables. The’re still perfectly trustworth. I am sure there was never any collusuion between these cables and Amazon marketing executives. Cables are almost never brought on marketing junkets to Las vegas and marketing executives seem to favor Mac Books that don’t need Display Port to HDMI cables to watch youtube vidoes about cats.
Had the same issues as other reviewers where I was trying to use this backwards going to a monitor that had a Display Port connection. I guess as long as you know it’s uni-directional you’ll get what you need and it’ll work well.
Also…. because they’re uni-directional they’re not going to work if you just happen to have two of them laying around and try to combine them with an HDMI coupler to go display port to display port. They’ll butt heads at the coupler. I tried before I knew they were one-way cables. Loll.
BTW the description of the item now clearly points that out (thanks amazon) but it wasn’t mentioned anywhere unless you drilled down to the fine print (which I didn’t) when I originally bought it. I can’t knock them a star cause I didn’t read the entire description word for word.
Would’ve been nice to know though before I bashed my head against a wall trying to get it to work originally.
For those of you who are not frugal and prefer to buy the pricier things. You just might change your mind after this review.
Amazon Basics … I have tried a few Amazon Basics products over the years. I haven’t regretted either of them. This cable is durable. The cable is thick without being overly bulky or obscene. The connectors are very durable. You feel like you have made a great purchase upon opening. If yours came in a box you will find the packaging sturdy as well. They took the time to protect your investment during transit.
It’s an easy plug and play cable that does the job and does it well for a fraction of the cost. I’m pleased and since I am the main purchaser/selector for electronic goods for my home and business, I usually research before making a final decision.
Will I purchase again? Yes.
Do I recommend this product? Yes.
I connect my Windows 10 Professional HP Elitebook 2570p laptop to a docking station at home. The docking station had a VGA port connected to a 22″ monitor. The monitor display had noticeable shimmering. I replaced the monitor with a 22″ television monitor connected to the same VGA port. Still, same problem, though not as bad. I purchased the Amazon Basics DisplayPort to HDMI cable, connecting it to the DisplayPort on the back of the docking station, and from there into the HDMI port on the television. Great results! The shimmering is gone, the picture is noticeably better and more responsive. It was a good solution for my particular configuration and equipment.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Amazon Basics DisplayPort to HDMI Display Cable is perfect for connecting any DisplayPort-enabled device to an HDMI-enabled display.
