Does this strip have a light indicator showing when power is on? Also, does it have a power switch?

It doesn’t have a light; the power switch is right next to where the cord comes out of the main box (short end). You can’t see it in the picture. It is recessed to keep it from being accidentally knocked, although bumping up against some kind of edge or point could possibly switch it off.

What is the wire gauge used in the cord?

14 AWG is stamped into the outside insulating cover which is the same for most all Belkin Outlet Power Strips that I have ever seen or used.

Does it have mounting holes on the back?

Yes, Lawrence. There are mounting holes available at the back.

How big of a hole would you need to get the plug through?

Hi, WB. Are you trying to drill a hole in your wall? We would like to get more details about it so we can provide an answer to your query.

How do i know if is on or off?

If you have to ask yourself that it’s broken. I couldn’t figure out why neither switch was the on side for a week, tried all the outlets in my house before I realized it was dead. 65 days after I bought it. This thing is junk

How far does the flat plug extend from the wall? Precise measurements please, no "about 1/2 an inch" or "about 3/4 an inch"

About 3/4". Ish. Ballpark.

Does this have holes to wall mount with?

Yes

There is an off and reset switch, what is the function of this off / reset? do i press reset? then it does not stay on reset? i am confused…

The reset button is used if you do have a power spike the strip shuts off. To get it to work again you have to reset it. The on and off switch is used for if you go out of town you can switch it off. On my home theater and TV blu ray player I run a monster cable surge protector. If I get a surge is scrams the surge…look it up. I payed 400 dollars in 1998 for it and it still works great. Hope that helps.

Info About Belkin Power Strip Surge Protector with 6 AC Multiple Outlets – Flat Rotating Plug, 6 ft Long Heavy Duty Extension Cord for Home, Office, Travel, Computer Desktop & Charging Brick – Black (600 Joules) (Reviews From Amazon)

Great surge protector with outstanding functionality.

Some background, I currently work in an IT department for an aerospace firm in southern California. One of my duties is to test hardware and devices prior to deploying them to our users.

This power strip performs as good as it looks. It features a swivable plug and a switch at the top side of the surge protector. The placement of the switch on the side of the surge protector is extemely well thought out. Other surge protectors have the switch on top, next to the additional plugs, which have the frequency of the user unintentionally turning off the surge protector when another plug is plugged in.

I would highly recommend this surge protector for the cost per plug, functionality, and style.

Thank you mr 6-outlet surge protector with 6-feet cord industrial designer.

Belkin and I have had some disagreements, but this, this is beautiful.
I saw a lot of reviews say it does not have a flat plug in, as of the time of this review the one I ordered did indeed. And to my pleasant surprise, it swivels around as well!!!! Incredible.
The on/off toggle was also very rigid and not likely to get bumped off/on due to its placement and rigidity.
Well done. Make good things Belkin. High five to the industrial designer on this one.

This is great for furniture covering outlets!!!

We are using this surge cord behind a large, tall dresser that only has about .75" of give between it and the wall. The flat design of the plug allows the dresser to sit right against the wall and not bend the cord, or require furniture to be pulled out from the wall due to a stiff power strip cord. So this is an unusual review, because it is also my Public Service Announcement. We have two small children and have attached all our heavy furniture to the walls with Safety 1st Wall Straps so that there is no danger of them tipping over on little ones. So my PSA: please anchor your heavy furniture to the walls, and if you have furniture that covers an outlet, consider this power strip!

I keep buying this.

I’ve bought my second Belkin power strip now, and I have had extremely few issues with both units. They just work, pretty much no problems. I use one to power a mini fridge and another to power my TV and a few other things that are plugged into it. I’ve had no issues with these getting hot, or, obviously, setting on fire, and I remember that being a concern when I was purchasing my first one. The flat plug on these is also extremely nice.
Pros:
-Slim
-Swiveling Plug
-Black
-No obnoxious bright lights
Cons:
-Relatively easy to hit the toggle switch into the reset position, simple to fix though as you just get up and flick the switch again and its fine.
-The swivel plug can be a little difficult to plug into my houses outlets because the covers protrude a bit, but this is more an issue with my house and less an issue with the product.

Flat Plug Power strip surge protector

This Belkin power strip surge protector isn’t high quality nor does the price reflect that. I can’t comment as to the protection that it will provide, I simply need a power strip that had a low profile (flat plug) that inserted into the outlet. My outlet is behind a nightstand which required the night stand to sit around 4" away from the wall. Now with this, the nightstand can sit almost right up against the floor board trim which is about where it would be without using the outlet. I like the orientation of the outlets on this strip as well. We are using it in a kids room with a light and a clock plugged into it.

Works well

Used several of these for a long time (years for one of them) and they’ve always worked well with various lights, electronics, etc. Never ran anything approaching the wattage limit but have done some hotter electronics like desktop computers, AV receivers, etc.

The swiveling plug is one of those things that would normally make me nervous (a moving contact point?! OH NO!) but it’s so handy and the track record has been good with everything we’ve hooked up. I just find the plug to fit in so many places that would otherwise require moving furniture, not mention that it’s simply sleek looking and feels tight/durable.

I would buy more if I needed them.

I love this thing I have two. I bought the first one awhile back because our bed sit against the plug and would bend the cord for our cell phone chargers and other plugs like our window A/C unit and seasonal christmas lights didn’t reach. I originally had a normal extension cord but like I said it stuck out too far and it was being bent. This cord lays flat against the wall and rotates to where you need it. Ours on my husband’s side sits more the bottom right. I got another one for my side of the bed for there is another outlet on my side behind the bed. For my phone charger I would put it in the wall plug and shove the rest under the mattress. Then I found out that is not a good idea. I then needed to plug in my laptop cord and humidifier cord but of course ran out of space. So I got this device to keep my cords safe and unbent while also getting extra outlets. At first when I got it I thought I was broken because it wasn’t charging my phone then I realized there is an on/off switch. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the cord is actually really long. But then again that works great for my husband’s side of the bed since it goes around the night stand.

Love the flat plug

Bought this because I needed a flat wall outlet plug so my dresser and bed could be flat against the wall and not be sticking out 3 inches bc the plug. This works great. And it’s got a long cord to be able to stretch to fit everything I need plugged into it. Only thing I don’t like is that the on/off switch is very easy to hit. Like, if I move my bed a little or the nightstand it hits it and shuts it off. Otherwise a great little cord.

Great for plugs behind items you want flush with the wall

This is the surge protector I buy all the time. The flat head allows for it to be in places a normal cord wouldn’t work. I have one plugged into the outlet behind my bed and it gives me enough length to bring the outlets to where I want them. Wonderful product that is a steal for the price.

Exactly what I was looking for

I needed a two power strips with flat plugs for my kids rooms. We have these dressers and bookshelves that are blocking the outlets. Now with this power strip I’m able to secure it to the dresser/book case and provide easy access to outlets for sound machines and night lights. It’s great!
