Hi. As verified in our own website, the surge protector offers 3,996 Joules of protection.

Can this be wall mounted?

Yep! I have mine wall-mounted right now.

If you use all 12 spots, is the power coming out if the wall less efficient when reaching all 12 devices? Is it safe/effective to fill all 12 spots?

I would think yes or they wouldn’t have 12 spots. I use 9 and they operate efficiently.

how long is the power cord?

Don’t bother with it. It caught fire after 3 months.

Has the design improved (as of 02/07/21) so it mounts more securely and conveniently to the wall?

Saved thousands today!

A snow storm two days ago led to a power pole catching on fire next to my home. The resulting surge fried my stove and several sockets around the house. However this surge protector took the full brunt in my tv room. Today I’m ordering it’s replacement for thirty bucks instead of the two thousand dollars of equipment attached to that port. I’d highly recommend this product and am so grateful that I don’t have to replace everything in my home now.

Exactly what I needed…but is it too much to ask for a drilling template?

Works nicely and for my needs. The little cord control thing is a nice touch. Unknown if it’ll actually protect during a surge but I’m not eager to test that feature. All good EXCEPT would it really kill the mfg. to include a template for the mounting screws. Measure thrice and drilled and for BOTH the power strips I got the mounting screws ever so slightly spaced wrong. About 30 minutes of drilling and cursing later, it was all good. I think for anyone that’s wall mounting one of these things under a desk, a template would be nice and make installation more clumsy-homeowner proof.

… than I thought and the ports are spaced even better than I thought – I have the whole thing …

The outlet is slimmer than I thought and the ports are spaced even better than I thought – I have the whole thing full and none of the plugs are blocking others. It doesn’t take up too much room and the USB outlets charge decently quick!

Only complaint: the plug end is configured kinda of weird – the ground is on the bottom i.e. you will feel like you’re plugging it in upside down. When its in the wall, the cord will be facing UP so you’ll need to plug it into the topmost outlet (the cord will be running in front of all outlets above it). This was slightly annoying and I had to unplug something and plug it on the bottom upside down to make it fit. Not a big enough deal to take away a star though – its the perfect outlet with the perfect number of ports – and having USB ports is super convenient.

A Set-And-Forget Solution

We noticed the circuit breaker in our hotel suite tripping several times; although it only affected a single outlet, unfortunately, this outlet is where our work PC is plugged in. Of course, this not only disrupted work but put our files at risk for corruption.

We bought this Belkin surge protector to fix our problem. We chose Belkin based on reviews and our own experiences with other surge protectors behind our entertainment center and work desk at home. So far, it’s protected our gear very well.

For reference, we’ve got plugged in a Dell desktop computer, Corsair keyboard, a dictation microphone, and a Nintendo Switch. Also on the outlet is a desk lamp and a 55″ LG TV.

The surge protector is heavy, and the plastic feels well-made. The cord is long enough to reach under or behind a desk and can lie flat – without pulling everything down with it. On the other hand, it is on the larger side, which means rearranging your desk a bit. I would certainly prefer more of a range of colors but, based on value and performance, Belkin can’t be beaten.

Well-Designed Surge Protector With USB Outputs

I owned two Belkin surge protectors for at least ten years until a thunderstorm happened and they finally protected me from a surge. At that point, they had to be replaced. This is the model I replaced them with.

— OUTLETS —
This is a well-designed surge protector that gives you twelve outlets. There are six outlets down the middle for standard sized plugs, and three on each side for larger and boxier power adapters, for a total of twelve. There are also two USB outputs at the bottom where you can plug cables to charge your phones and devices.

Each outlet can be slid closed to protect it from dust. It’s built into all twelve, so if it’s not in use, slide it closed. The gray bit at the bottom is a cable organizer; it can be lifted up for cables to go through and pushed back down so they are set in place.

— PROTECTION —
There are two lights at the top: the left lights up green to show it’s protected, and the right glows amber to show it’s grounded. Both of these should be on when you get it. If the protected light is off, it means it’s already done its job protecting you and you should get a new protector.

If the grounded light is off, that means your wall outlet isn’t grounded, and you should look for a  Leviton Grounding Triple Outlet Adapter  that will make sure anything plugged into your wall is grounded.

— SUMMARY —
I have the white, and black models, for different rooms. White for the white kitchen, and black for my darker entertainment center. I hope they last for another decade like my previous Belkin ones did. Recommended.

Well spaced outlets for power bricks

While I have not had to use the surge protection features for this model I fully trust they are excellent having had many Belkin power strips over the years. This is a really great power strip to power a computer and other accessories, as well as providing some USB ports.

What really shines about this model however is the outlets are well spaced so you can fit a variety of bulky power bricks and plugs while still using all of the plugs. Most of this kind of adapter have the sockets too close so half of them go unused.

Exactly what I needed!

I absolutely love this power strip. I have computer plugs, drives, my phone, a monitor, etc., all needing to be plugged in. This allows for all my different huge plugs along with the smaller plugs. Plus I don’t need an extra device that allows me to plug in my phone or iPad to charge them. I want to buy another, but since our budget is tight, I am waiting to see if it goes on a lightning deal again. If it does, I will definitely buy this again (and by the way, it is worth the regular Amazon price, but we have five kids and a very tight budget). I would be happy to recommend this to my family and friends. For those reviewers who say it is too big… of course it is big. It can fit 12 plugs plus two USB cables and has a cord keeper. If you don’t want something so big, you won’t get 12 outlets to fit on it.

my favorite surge protector, but for the paw-factor.

Very nice design. Allows for a lot of plugs (several of inconvenient shapes and usbs even!) to fit simultaneously and isn’t unpleasant to look at, if one’s into staring at the surge protectors. Only downside is that the switch is very accessible to our living companions without opposable thumbs. The cat has figured out how to shut down those devices which stand in the way of us petting him. Or you could say it’s just too easy for those with small feet to step on, but I’m not ruling out sinister feline intentions.

Update: It has been determined beyond a reasonable doubt that our cat definitely steps on the switch on this power strip to stop my boyfriend’s computer gaming. I won’t take off stars for that, but if you have cats, I would advise considering how far they would go for affection before purchasing this item.

Love this surge protector

Love this surge protector. The wide spacing of the outlets on each size are great for accommodating electronics with wide plugs, perfect for all the equipment in my entertainment center. I bought this to replace the 8-outlet strip I had previously as I find myself with more and more devices to plug in,so this one should last for a long time. The built-in safety features are also a really nice bonus when I consider my infant daughter and her protection.

The 6′ cord is a great length, and I really appreciate the angled plug head so that I can keep furniture as close to the wall as possible as opposed to plugs that come perpendicular to the wall. All in all a great surge protector for a great price.

Great to protect costly equipment.

I have use Belkin for a long time for my Computers, electronic equipment and TV. Well honestly pretty much anything electric that I want to protect. This power strip holds up well. Has the added usb charging functions which is great to save space. It offers additional protection that most power strips do not. With a flat plug in head it it keeps the plug from become damaged. Has plenty of pug in space and can accommodate larger plug in adapters.
