Facts About BESTEK 300W Power Inverter DC 12V to 110V AC Car Inverter with 4.2A Dual USB Car Adapter

And what you really need is termed a "True Sine Wave Inverter." A modified sine wave inverter delivers a digital wave form that over time will destroy your laptop. It also is very probable that it is what is causing your problems. A "True Sine Wave Inverter" produces a real waveform and also switches at 60HZ. It gives the same purity of,power as your electric company does. However these are more expensive then the modified sine wave models are. Most of those come with warnings not to use any devices that need chargers.. Examples of true sine wave inverters are made by Samlex, Xantrex, ( my two favorite producers ) and a few other companies.
The unit that I received has 2 110v outlets and 2 usb ports. The unit was used on a recent trip to Texas and worked flawlessly.

cord length doesn’t matter because this unit will set your devices on fire. do not buy this
Yes it works very well, and runs quietly.
The reason it says not to use for heaters and hair dryers is because the heating elements in those things are usually 1500 watts or more. If you’re just pumping up an air mattress I doubt it will pull enough wattage to be a problem
Look on the coffeemaker or supplied literature and find out how many watts it uses. AMPS times VOLTS equals WATTS. For example, my 4 cup Mr. Coffeemaker uses 650 watts at 120 volts, it needs 5.4 amps HOUSEHOLD CURRENT (650 divided by 120). Trying to power this coffeemaker from a 12 volt battery, you need 54 amps … Look on the coffeemaker or supplied literature and find out how many watts it uses. AMPS times VOLTS equals WATTS. Trying to power this coffeemaker from a 12 volt battery, you need 54 amps of current (650 divided by 12). This far exceeds the capacity of the inverter. It will not work! What will work ? A coffeemaker that uses no more than 300 watts.
Yes, this inverter was made for laptops & smart phones. Use the USB ports & you don’t even have to turn the power on on the inverter. Yes, it has to be plug into a cig lighter at all time.
Many cars have 10amp fuses for their auxiliary outlets. Some have 20 amp fuses, although sometimes these are for two or more outlets. So the maximum this can run without blowing the car fuse is in the range of 120 to 150 watts. In theory a 20 amp circuit with a running car might handle 300watts, but one would need to be sure there was nothing else on the circuit. The unit won’t keep you from blowing fuses, and in fact some of the manuals say to use battery clips above 150 watts. You’d need to wire your own.
It is my understanding that the answer is dependent on comparing the charger input in volt-amps with the output of the inverter. The general formula is that amps are equal to volt-amps divided by volts. Your camera’s specifications require an input of 21 VA at 100 V or an amperage of 0.21. The general formula is that amps are equal to volt-amps divided by volts. Your camera’s specifications require an input of 21 VA at 100 V or an amperage of 0.21. This Bestek model produces 300 to 350 watts (volts x amps) at 110 to 120 volts, or slightly less than 3 amps which is greater than the 0.21 amps required by your charger and therefor should work.
Why not? Runs on 110 in your home.
power my digital tv receiver (a converter box digital signal to analog ) witch l have in my car
I believe it should work fine. We used it to charge phones and power laptops all at the same time. Not sure how smooth the ride is and the WII not skipping..its just like a DVD player
The unit when in use is not extremely loud but yes you can hear the fan but I would not say that it is loud.

You must check your vacuum for wattage. It has 300 watts continuous power and 700 watts peak. Continuous is for normal operation and peak is for initial motor surge. Info About BESTEK 300W Power Inverter DC 12V to 110V AC Car Inverter with 4.2A Dual USB Car Adapter (Reviews From Amazon)
Works great. We used it on a road trip and I was able to use my double electric breast pump and charge our cell phones at the same time. It does have a slight hum to it but we could barely hear it over the radio. Feels pretty heavy duty and it got bumped around a lot with no damage or dings. I’d recommend this to family and friends.
Update 6 months later: Still love it, works as great as the day we got it. I leave it in the center console compartment and love we can plug in our quick charge bases and don’t have to spend money on quick charge car chargers.
I bought this to power up Christmas lights on my Corvette for the Christmas parade in our small town. The unit ran the lights and a tree mounted on the rear of the car very well.
Awesome! Great for portable power, with a dedicated deep cycle battery and a few other items I have power that is portable (aside from the fact the deep cycle battery weighs a TON 🙂 So I guess its not hiking type portable 🙂 but if away from home and no power sources….Like say….camping where its not one of those campgrounds with power….The deep cycle set up means that with this 🙂 I can power any devices I’d have at home….Or it also could work for a power failure situation….Can’t run anything massive of course (space heater or something like that) But 300 watts works for pretty much all a person would need on a away from the city, away from home, no power outlets….I also noticed a 500w version but the 300 has been perfect for me and the deep cycle battery runs for days using this 🙂 awesome!
I’ve used a number of adapter over the years. Most of them are inconsistent in how well or how long they work. The Bestek is the best adapter that I’ve ever had. I like that it plugs into the car, and has it’s own cable that takes the adapter out of the general area of the cigarette lighter. This cable allows the inverter to be placed in an inconspicuous spot in the back seat where my children will be using it to power their laptops. I also have to say that this unit was used consistently on a 15 hour drive from Maine to Ohio. And never once did it lose power. The unit is powerful with two wall plugs and two USB outlets. This was well worth the investment.
Brought this charger on a 9 day road trip, worked like a champ! During the trip I had a laptop, tablet, and an extender with two DSLR camera batteries all pugged in at once, the BESTEK never had a problem. Very impressed by it’s durability and ability to power multiple devices simultaneously. Fan is a little noisy when car is idle but you it exceeds standard road noise. Long power cable allows it to extend a a good distance from your lighter port . Great product, highly recommended!
Just received the product and so far it works great! Seems very solid, smaller than I expected (not that I really thought too much about the size), and a good looking unit.
Needed it to run fans in my RV when I’m not running the generator. So far works great. Used it tonight also to power up a laptop with a dead battery – again, no issues.
We will be using it for small items of a similar nature. I like the power button in the back – so you don’t have to remove it from the lighter if you don’t want to.
Can’t speak to maximum power (and will not be using it to a max), or longevity at this time. Certainly looks and feels like it will last however.
UPDATE: About 6 months after writing this review, I got an email from their customer support telling me they wanted to send a replacement unit. They must have hired a new marketing person, I applaud their actions going back and addressing unhappy customers. A company that stands behind its product is a company I can support. I will come back in April 2021 (18 months warranty period) and update if the replacement unit still works after the warranty period expires.
Original Rant:
This product functioned fine when I first got it but I think it may be designed to fail after its warranty expires.
I had the item in a bin with some other electronics (stored indoors, dry cool location in my office) for a few months not being used… when I took it out to use it again it won’t power up or do anything. The warranty is only for 18 months and I purchased it 20 months ago.
The bestek website item for this product lists it as having a 24 month warranty… yet here on amazon it’s only 18 months?
I contacted the company for a return and they denied me with an insulting “Deeply sorry.” message despite me providing pictures of the unit.
So I post this review today to warn anybody against purchasing this product. It works fine in the beginning but it will fail you when it matters most and most definitely will not be a useable product 18 months after you purchase it.
I’ve had this for over a year now and it works great. The only "Cons" would be that many cords are bulky and you can only fit one at a time into the outlets. but, this has not been a huge issue because of the additional USB ports. The other thing I’ve noticed is that the outlets are tight… in other words I have to pull pretty hard to get plugs out. I am not reducing my rating because I actually like that the cords are held firmly in place. It helps keep cords from coming unplugged when we are moving the inverter around etc.
My previous inverter fell apart after a year or so, (it was not this brand) so far the build quality on this BESTEK seems far superior.
I have put this power inverter to use almost immediately after I received it. Let’s start with packaging. Excellent packaging! Not too much, but on to little an amount to protect the inverter. The inverter itself is a very sharp looking unit and goes well in the setting I have it in currently. Controls are simple and straightforward. For the price point, you get 2 110V plug ins and 2 USB ports. All 4 ports work perfectly. I was charging my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone, a Nook Tablet and using 2 laptop chargers all at the same time. Did this inverter get hot? Nope. Stayed cool to the touch. Did it kick off from overload. Nope, once again. Not even a hint of a problem. This is a winner in my book. Looking forward to the long-term usage of this inverter and will probably buy another one.
So much better than anything I’ve found in any retail store. Inverter has a switch on it, USB outlets provide power even when inverter is off if the 12v in the car/boat/whatever is powered. If the inverter is on, the fan is on; much prefer the always-on fan to how many inverters only run the fan part time and you can never adequately drown it out with music. Unit is very solidly built with metal enclosure, 12v aux cord is also very solidly built, not the cheap/hollow feeling you get from most other units. Cord is long enough to stash under a seat or in the console if you have space, unit is very compact. Would buy again but this thing is so durable I probably won’t have to. Already outperformed and outlasted any other inverter I’ve used in the past.
