Yes, as long as it is a regualr phone cord required. I use it for just that purpose….a fax machine with a handset hooked into my home phone line. It works great.

I don’t believe the cord had an odor but the cord did not work on my phone. buy at your own risk.

I still use a real phone in the house and not a stupid mobile phone. This length allows me to move my phone around without any length issues.
