These remotes are awesome. No programming needed… they work straight away. My dog has chewed up the first 3 we had… at first we thought we had a short in the tv because the channel was changing and getting louder and then we saw the dog in the backyard chewing on the remote. I guess they taste delicious.
So we now have #4 and #5 (decided to keep a backup).

Works right out of the box. My 6 year old would accidentally drop the OEM remote on the tile floor, after doing that a few times the OEM remote volume stopped working. A replacement OEM was way too expensive but I found this one for under $12. Everything works perfectly. I even bought the silicone cover to help guard against tile floors.

Logically, any Samsung remote of this type should work on any model TV that came with a similar looking remote regardless of Bluetooth/IR/voice recognition, but since my TV wasn’t specifically listed, I wasn’t sure. Works like a charm. It’s only the basic IR version (no BT or voice control), but that’s fine because my kids always lose the remote and I wanted to have a backup on hand. The form factor on these remotes is really nice, so I wanted to preserve that aspect on the cheap if I could, and this one is perfect for that. Works great!

Will a $12 replacement for a $60 remote even work? Yes it will.
I bought his because my kids are always misplacing the paired Bluetooth one.

This one is infrared so you can’t use it from another room without direct sight of the television like the OEM one, but that hardly matters.
I put batteries in and it worked immediately with both of my Samsung Smart TVs, and replaces the old style remote on the older one. Now menu navigation functions like the newer one excepting that voice recognition commands are absent.

Overall I got better than I expected function, so 5 stars on value.

With a 6 month year old Berner puppy at home, remotes can quickly become chew toys, as our stock Samsung TV remote did. Not wanting to pay 60 bucks for a replacement that may get destroyed again, I gave this remote a chance and am glad I did. Yes it is not quite as sleek as the stock remote, but I personally and my wife and kid like that all the buttons are physical buttons and not just a seemless spot on the remote you have to press (aka the stock remote’s power button). This worked straight out of the package, just popped batteries in it and away we went. Being able to purchase 5 of these for the price of 1 samsung one is amazing. This is almost cheaper than some bully sticks for my pup so she can gladly chew this 😉

t we lost the original remote then when we found it, it wasn’t working. Luckily after taking the batteries out and conmpletely powering off the TV and restarting everything it worked again but it was a terrible feeling so I decided to buy a 2nd remote for just in case and because we have a long couch so there’s one on each side (lazy I know, LOL). I shopped around and they were all well over $20. I found this one and bought it right away because even if it was terrible it was cheap and worth a try. Well I have to say that we use this one much more than the one that came with the TV, we’ll probably even buy another! It’s not bluetooth like the one that came with the TV but that just means you need to be in line of sight of the TV which is no big deal for us. It does NOT have voice comand button or microphone, but we never use that anyway. The multicolor dots button on the right is replaced by a button labeled EXTRA which serves the same function. The VOL & CH buttons are black instead of silver but they feel like much better quality (more clicky and firm than the original). Under the VOL it’s missing the label CC/VD and at the bottom of the remote it doesn’t have the SAMSUNG logo. So those are the only differences and I would not pay the difference in order to have those additions to the remote. I would rather have the less glossy more tactile much cheaper seemingly higher quality plastic and buttons remote. If you need a replacement Samsung remote buy this now and you will not regret saving all that money!

Purchased this to replace the remote on my Samsung smart 65 curvy hypnotizing gadget for kids.(sarc) After many many falls I had to replace my remote and wasn’t wanting to spend 60 bucks on something I know my kids would break in a week!. Found this bad boy and put it to use. Well it only had basic functions. Turn On/Off Tv, Mute and Vol Up/down and the little house button works as well to bring up the smart panel. So with that being said I’m able to access Netflix, Amazon etc on that menu. I cant however change the channel while watching the cable box like used too. I had to find the old TiVo controller and now am back to two remotes for one tv. Well It works if you’re looking for a quick fix. They are sturdier that Samsung’s I’ll say. Other than that great product

Looks, feels, and operates just like an original. It’s so similar that I can even swap the battery covers between an original and this one.

I bought this because my second Samsung TV came with an old style remote with tons of useless buttons. I like this style of remote, so I was happy to realize it works perfectly and automatically with my TV. The only real difference is the absence of the name “Samsung” on the remote.

So, clearly my bliss below was a bit shortsighted. After using the remote, I discovered it was not universal and could not control my DirecTV box like the original. It also did not fast forward properly when viewing the Hulu app. So, I bellied up on the Samsung site and ordered a OEM replacement. Lesson learned. This thing was too good to be true.

Works like a charm! Perfect replacement for our lost remote, which I’m sure we’ll find now that we’ve bought a new one 😉 Yes, it took some work to get the back off to access the battery compartment. I found that using my fingernail at the top to push/pull down the back cover at the point it meets the IR beacon did the trick. No programming necessary, as it worked right away to control all the TV functions. Very pleased.
