It overheats within about 5-7 minutes if you are continuously using it the whole time. It says it can handle 6 sheets. But doing 2-3 at a time seems to help it not overheat as fast. It’s a great machine for casual shredders. If you shred a ton of papers all the time I’d find another one

This C209-D shredder can not do CD’S but taples and credit cards(one at a time).

It won’t shred at all after a few weeks. If you want an actual shredder, cross cut or not, buy one that works. I cannot recommend this plastic bin and the company that refuses to stand behind it low enough. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.

Don’t know. What I do know is for me it has zero decibels, because it does not work. It’s a piece of garbage that stopped working before a couple months. And the lack of awareness from this company about it’s reputation is shocking. My advice: pay $5 more (or maybe less) and go with another brand.

You have sensitive personal information printed all over cardboard boxes? You will need an industrial shredder or a woodchipper for that. The Shredders are metal. I have no idea what the internal gears are. I did work it hard when I first got it and is still working good.

If too many pages are tried to be shredded it will reverse and the pages will come back out.

Overheated. You shredded over 4 minutes. Or paper jam. Reverse it. Check manual.

You need to watch what and how much you shred because it can be a nightmare to clear out particles out of the sharp hard teeth. I’ve only had to replace two in my 25 years because of things that shouldn’t be shredded gets shredded. Usually it’s not bad to pick and pull stuck stuff. I try not to shred anything that has adhesive or any kinds of stickers or labels. That guck will accumulate in the grinders. And, I lubricate my shredders twice a year depending on the useage .

Purchased this shredder to replace my last shredder which provided seven years of service. Threw the kitchen sink at it, and it gobbled up everything I put into it. Quieter than my last shredder and very efficient. Ordered lubricating sheets to extend the the life of the shredder motor. Hopefully, I can get a machine that can provide years of service. The Bonsaii 10 sheet shredder is made well and the lift up handle and window are great features. Five stars*****

Our shredder that we had for 5 years had finally went into permanent retirement ! It was time to get a new one. After a few hours of research I decided on the Bonsaii. It fit all our needs as far as size and shredding capabilities! Once we received it we put it through its paces, of course following the instructions for use!! That’s important!!!! Our original shredder could only process 2 sheets at a time where the Bonsaii advertised 10. It indeed can shred 10 sheets but I wouldn’t use that amount on a steady basis, let’s be realistic! We put through 4 to 6 sheets at a time with ease!! Again, remember to follow instructions!! Lubricate the machine regularly and don’t overheat it!!

So, I keep every receipt , every piece of mail with my personal information on it. I am so paranoid about someone getting my information and stealing my identity. I usually tear up the information or put it down the garbage disposal( don’t do this) until it became jammed. It takes forever to dispose of every little thing with your name on it. I bought this nearly a week ago and I love it! I have filled the bin about 7 times, which is very large. I even had a shoebox full of old credit cards that I needed to cut up and haven’t because it takes a long time to do it with scissors but this shredder is so awesome that I shredded them all within 5 minutes! This thing is strong! The shredder shreds the paper both horizontally and vertically into tiny pieces so that you can’t put the paper back together. Smart! I feel like a weight of papers is off my shoulders now. Lol I cleared out so much room in my closet of shoeboxes of unnecessary clutter. This is a great buy. Everyone needs this to protect your identity and your closet. Lol

I had purchased an Aurora AU800SD Professional Strip Cut Paper Shredder for my business office. The cleaning people must have used it for a stepstool. It only lasted two days. I had previously purchased a Bonsaii EverShred C149-D for my home office. It’s a real winner so I bought another Bonsaii. It works well and survived it’s first month of hazardous duty. Not only is a cross-cut type shredder more secure than the strip-cut type but the shredded paper takes up maybe one fifth the space. The only down to this shredder is that it is just as noisy as the Aurora. The Bonsaii C149-D is much quieter.

This shredder is the perfect size. It handles about 6-8 pages easily, including staples. It will run about 10 minutes before it automatically shuts down due to overheating. It then takes about 10-15 minutes to cool down. It has a window in the front so that you know when to empty it. It also has a handle on the shredder portion so that it is easy to grab and raise when it is necessary to empty the contents.

Bought this after going to Office Max and shredders were so much more expensive then I thought they were going to be. I looked them up on amazon, of course. There were muliple shredders that had as many, if not more, options for less then the in store iteme. It was delivered to my house the next day. It works great! Its quiet. Its fast and very easy to use. I dont count my pages, and I have never jammed it. The credit card shredder does crisscross cuts for extra security. I was so pleasantly suprised. It fits under my desk easily. I think this is a perfect home or possibly a small business shredder. It runs fast, but like I said the noise is not overwhelming.

This shredder is a little trooper. We’ve only had it a couple weeks but we have run alot paper through it. It seems very simple to use, and vuides the paper in very easily. It is a clear improvement over the one we replaced. I would recommend this shr3dder, and call it a great value for the kkoney.

Nowhere when I reviewed this product did I see that it requires oil to keep it lubricated. I would of appreciated reading that as I would have purchased some at the same time. But having said this, it works great. The machine is very loud but I went through 14 years of documents and it shredded them beautifully. I had a few jams but it was easy to clear. I used needle nose pliers to clear the jam, but if you put seven sheets or less and pace yourself to allow the rotation to pick up speed again, this machine works for about forty minutes non stop before it needs to cool down. After twenty minutes rest, it picked right back up. I made 17 garbage bags fulls of shredded paper. (13 gallon size bags) I would recommend this product. The noise is expected and it chews through paper.

I actually bought this shredder about 7 months ago but had little used it until last week. I’m impressed. I thoroughly purged my file cabinet and emptied boxes of outdated paper work without a hitch.. This 10 sheet crosscut Bonsaii put my previous shredder to shame. It didn’t overheat once, maybe because I only put through 5 or 6 sheets at a time. I didn’t remove staples which presented no problem. The machine didn’t clog up once even with heavier weight paper. Outdated credit cards? No problem.

My only suggestion would be to have handholds on the lower cannister portion because it’s awkward to move the entire shredder from one place to another. It has a handle on the upper shredding mechanism for ease of lifting when time to empty out the paper shreds but transporting the entire machine is cumbersome especially for an older person. Since I’m impressed with the Bonsaii’s performance thus far, for me the efficiency of completing a tedious task outweighs this one deficiency.
