The speaker wire in my kit was 16 gauge, I was hoping for at least 12 gauge.
It comes with the fuse holder and the fuse you have to install it but that’s simple to do just install it about 6inches from the battery 🙂
yes with ease I have tested it on a few dif amps and now have found it will handle upto a 800 watt rms amp befor it starts to get hot but at 1000 watts rms it started melting
Power is 20 ft rca cables are 17ft ground wire is 3 ft and turn on wire is 16 ft
Well to answer your question, I run 2 15" JBL Audio’s with a 1600 Watt Power Acoustik Amp at 600 Watt RMS and it runs fine.
Yes it does!
my fuse is 30 amps with the 10 AWG kit. l got it a bit too small, but it was cheap and it works so who cares?
Yes, it does include a RCA to RCA (pretty long) but does not include a 3.5mm to RCA.
I would recommend using 8 gauge, I always go by this (50-250W use 10 guage 300-500 use 8 guage and so on…) Hope this helps, have a merry Christmas
Yeah, what do you mean what gauge? There’s the power wire, the remote wire, the speaker wire, the ground wire…
it is the remote wire to turn on the amp when you start the car.
AGU 50 amp
Not this 4 guage, this is hardly 4. These kits definitely claim to be a larger gauge than they really are. Just get your fuses & holder here and your wire local, that way you pay for the right gauge and not 20 feet of spaghetti speaker wire when you only need 6 for your subs. I agree with last post, 0 gauge or 2 gauge but make sure it’s actually the gauge advertised. The only good part in this kit is the fuse and holder

So when I read some of the reviews I almost laughed. People claiming this was terrible after trying to use 8 gauge wire for 1000 watts. A simple google search indicates that 8 gauge should have no more than 600 watts or so. I do agree this isnt quite 8 gauge. BUT you get what you pay for. I ran this to a speaker box and amp combo by kenwood and Polk audio speaker. Max output was 350 to 400 watts. Works perfect. No issues installed everything by the book. Fuse didnt melt wires didnt get hot. Nothing in the reviews has happened to me so far. If you are looking for a kit for a low watt system I reccomend this. This is obviously not competition or professional grade. Sont let these other reviews fool you.
So I had this kit installed for 2 years and in that time it was paired up with a skar 1200 watt mono amp and a 10″ skar ddv sub. First issue was the fuse block it came with melted, and throughout the 2 years the fuse blocks I bought even the anl blocks kept melting as well as the power input on.my amp itself started to melt so come to find out I switched it with the amazon 4gauge ofc wire and for the last 4 months I had no issues what’s so ever don’t use this wire kit unless you want to do an insurance claim on your car it nearly caught my car in fire 2 times
I considered buying all of the necessary components for installing a subwoofer all separately, and maybe saving a few bucks. But now after buying this 4 gauge kit from BOSS, I’m glad I did. It is without a doubt worth the 20 bucks. Not only for convenience and peace of mind knowing you have everything you need in one box, but also the wiring and components seem to be very high quality and durable. One change I did make to the kit was take the 60 amp fuse out of the holder provided, and replaced it with a 30amp fuse. It works and sounds great and I feel more comfortable knowing that lesser amount is being sent through the power wire.
This is not a true 8ga, more like 10ga. Others have reviewed that it has melted or failed. This will NOT power your large amp. I used it to power a very small 8″ powered sub that I added to a factory radio. It works just fine for that. Keep in mind it is not meant for big amp trying to feed on the battery. For my application, it works just fine.
I’ve purchased wires separately in prior amp installs, and that is probably a bit more cost-effective. That said, this has everything needed in one easy package for an amp install and for the few extra pennies it costs, it was well worth saving the time of finding all the individual bits I’d need. I’m happy that I bought it, and I will buy it (or a comparable item) next time I have an amp to install.
It’s not solid copper but it says that in the description and it would be way more expensive. I upgraded my installed 8AWG to this 4AWG. I’m not sure it’s truly 4AWG of wiring but it stopped my lights from dimming on hard bass hits. I trust Boss products enough to know what I’m getting for the money.
The wires and fuse holders are legit. I don’t have spare 8 ga. wire on hand to compare it to, but I’ve done more than a couple amp installs. At no point during the install did I say “Hmmm… this isn’t 8ga wire!” cause if it isn’t it’s ridiculously close to it. And they give you plenty of said wire. And a good quality fuse and holder. Also included are speaker wire, RCA signal wire, and remote power on wire. I thought the remote was very thin, but I can understand why you would cut a corner there. It’s not like it is coming under load, or doing anything strenuous. And the kit comes with chafing gear(plastic tube / case that slip around a wire to keep it from wearing out) for the power (or ground I suppose). The only thing I could look for complaints on are that the connectors (o rings, and butt connectors) are a little lame. But you should be having plenty of these on hand anyways. Or solder and heat shrink. Honestly, for your money you won’t find a better kit. I will definitely buy this again. Honestly though guys if you want the best kit with double shielded wire, and speaker wire that is double insulated and 12 ga. then get that. Cause you probably won’t be happy if you settle for anything less. And this is not that. But if you want to wire your amp and speakers with a good kit and get the best bang for your buck, this is for you. And I’ve been down both roads, their is not a big difference. Please save your money and get better equipment.
I don’t know what these nay-sayers are talking about. The kit came with everything, assembly was easy (except running the power wire), and it works great! I had a small scare when I turned it on for the first time, but all I had to do was adjust the subwoofer level. I got the kit first, then read the reviews. I’m no audio installation expert, but my guess is that the problems these people have had with this kit stem from the type of equipment they were trying to install. You wanna install an ultra high powered system, GET A MORE EXPENSIVE KIT. Problem solved.
I love these Boss audio kits. I’ve bought the 8 gauge kit and now the 10 gauge. These are an extremely good bang for the buck, I’ve read a lot of reviews about the wiring not being a "true gauge" wire and that’s it’s really thinner than advertised, but I’ve not had any problems. Highly recommend these kits. I needed to wire up a fuse block for a bunch of 12v accessories in my crown vic, so I bought this 10 gauge amplifier kit because it was cheaper than buying all the wiring and terminals separate. Works great!
There are plenty of reviews on here that say "stay away" and "ripoff!", but honestly, I knew what I was buying because I did my research and thought logically. Logical reasoning will tell you that a wiring kit that costs so little will, of course, not have an award winning quality to it. Does that mean it doesn’t work? No…it does the job wonderfully, actually. The primary thing this kit "lacks" is a true definition of wiring guage…however, if you buy smart you will simply realize that the actual guages are a step below what they’re advertised as…so if you’re going for 4-guage, expect 6 or 8 guage wire to be inside that thick power cord jacket. And that’s how I evaluated and picked mine…and guess what? It works perfect! I am a fan of the inline tube fuse (vs. blade fuses) and it makes install a bit cleaner in the engine bay. This kit even includes black loom covering to help integrate your wiring into the factory look. You won’t get any complaints from me because this kit is doing exactly what I wanted it to do, at a killer purchase price, and quality that (with the right expectations!) will last a good long while and provide you exactly what you need!
