Facts About Bright Starts Oball Shaker Rattle Toy, Ages Newborn +

Is this product BPA free?

The alternatives to BPA, specifically plastic hardeners, unfortunately, have been shown to be more estrogenic.

Any concern of it breaking and allow the beads to fall out?

A baby couldn’t break it. Our dog got ahold of it and chewed it, the bead area had teeth marks but didn’t break.

Appropriate for what age?

As soon as they start reaching out to grasp. I think I gave it to my grandson at 3 months. It is easy for them to hold because of the holes. He is 10 months now and loves the little car with the holes like this has.

How do you clean this? I sanitized it with soapy water and water got inside the rattle 🙁

Thank you for contacting Us! Per the instructions on the packaging, it specifies clean with a damp cloth do not immerse in water.

Is this made kn china or usa? amazon lists both. thanks!

In China.
The last line of the bulleted description, says: “Made in China.” 😕

Is there a way to open the middle part? I see a screw but unscrewing didn’t do anything. Water got inside and need to dry. It seems really unsanitary

I don’t think it is supposed to come apart. I had the same issue with the water inside it. It did dry eventually. Next time I used Lysol spray wiped it off and used a wet towel to wipe off the Lysol taste. I felt better about that. We’ve had it almost a year and there’s no signs of mold or mildew. My grandbaby loves it.

In the photos, the Oball rattle toys are showing one in green and one in blue. Are both rattles are green and blue or are they in the same color?

Which is a good thing.

Info About Bright Starts Oball Shaker Rattle Toy, Ages Newborn + (Reviews From Amazon)

Pretty good for its price

This product is nice. My baby loves to hold the rattle part. Super easy to hold and colorful so it catches his attention. So far so good.

Buy two! Great for fine motor skill development.

This toy was recommended by my son’s physical therapist to help him learn to grab and hold things. It’s so easy for a younger baby to grasp and the rattle makes more of a gentle sound which I appreciate as I’ve noticed other rattles tend to startle my son. I wouldn’t recommend it as a teething toy, just no where in the ball ends for baby to really mouth/the material wouldn’t withstand teeth so I’d definitely recommend it for babies needing to learn fine motor skills more than anything. I recommend buying two in case your dog happens to chew any baby toy apart when we accidently leave one in his reach😅

2 month old loves it!

So glad I purchased this toy! She has an original O-ball and I noticed it was the first thing she went to grab as it was easy for her to hold. Now that she has discovered her hands and bringing things to her mouth, this tot was PERFECT. It’s not too hard so she wont hurt herself with it and it’s easy for her to hold and grab and chew!

Great quality and entertaining for a 4 month old

I got this for my son when he was about 3 months old because he loved the original O Ball so much. He’s four months now, and I can see him playing with this well into the future. This toy helps him practice grabbing and holding on to objects and using his fingers, and he loves putting it in his mouth to try and chew it. He also likes that it rattles when I shake it for him, although he’s not shaking it purposefully yet himself. It’s definitely gone on my gift list for other new parents.

Easy for baby to hold

We love this rattle! So easy for my 6mo to hold, shake and play with without dropping. I can tell he enjoys moving it around from hand to hand and trying to chew on it 🙂. And it’s not so hard that I worry about him hurting his teeth or hitting himself (or me) with it. Also has a nice quiet rattle sound

Perfect first handheld toy

Oball toys are perfect for tiny babies that are just learning to reach and grasp toys. All of the circles make it one of the first toys that can be held on to easily. The rattling noise is not loud enough to be annoying but perfect to catch baby’s attention.

I wouldn’t say it’s good for teething, because there isn’t really a proper shape to chew, but he tries to anyway lol

Daughter loves it

We bought this for my 6 month old daughter. This rattle in particular does not have a super loud rattle, but is great for her to gum.

One thing I really like about this one is that I can get down on the floor to play with her and put one end of it in my mouth and hold it with my teeth and shake my head around to make it rattle. She finds it absolutely HILARIOUS and grabs on the other end to try to shake it/me for more sound.

For just four bucks, I don’t think you can go wrong. To this daddy, that’s a small price to pay for something that can get some quality giggle time.

Great early toy

This is one of the first toys that my babies figured out how to play with. It’s light, so they were able to pick it up themselves. They like trying to chew on it, but the ends are too large for them to chew too much. I think it’ll last longer because of this, and I didn’t buy it intending for it to be a teething toy. I like the soft/open structure because it doesn’t hurt them when they inevitably smack themselves with it. I also like it because I can easily attach it to a tether with a busy mat, or even just around a stroller bar (I have toy tethers from my busy mats, which are completely separate from this).

A favorite for 4+ month old

I got this for my baby at 4 months and he’s 8 months and he’s still fascinated by it! So lightweight and easy to grab, and the beads on the middle keeps him entertained because of the sound it makes. I also got the round one similar to this one and, even though he likes it, he doesn’t play as much with it because it doesn’t make sounds like this one does.

Great first rattle!

Light weight and easy for our 3-month-old to grasp (like the original o-ball toy), this rattle was one of the first things our baby learned to grasp with. Her grasping really took off after introducing this and the original o-ball. The rattle sounds and double-sided o-balls on the ends make it really interactive and fun for baby.

Conclusion

In conclusion, babies like to shake and rattle toys. They like to bite and chew on them. Before babies talk, they’re trying to get your attention and tell you what they want and need. Introduce babies to rattles, rattles for babies, and babies will love to play and learn with you.
