I’m not sure I understood the question fully. These are leak proof which is why they are great for my grandsons to take them to bed, but a child needs to sit up when they actually drink from the bottle so they don’t choke. It is not a baby bottle.

The product was recalled in February of 2020, the bottles were also previous recalled in August of 2019. This recall only involves Contigo® Kids Cleanable Water Bottle sold from April 2018 through February 7, 2020. Our product was purchased in April of 2021. Hope this helps

It has a valve that adapts to each particular need of each person, it has high quality and comfort in the flow, which makes it safe for children.

I know that some of them were, but I’m thinking these were not. The users are older children who do not make a habit of chewing on the spout. I believe this was part of the problem.

The spout which is actually the mouthpiece where you withdraw fluids from is all silicone. The pink straw that actually goes inside the canister holding the liquid feels as though it appears to be plastic. Thank you for your question

The water bottle you will be receiving appears to not be affected by the recall dates. Contigo recall dates are from 4/1/2018-2/7/2020. The old bottles have been removed well over a year ago and new ones have been replaced for selling. Thank you!

Yes, as long as the bottle is the same size. (If it’s smaller, the straw would be too long).

Not exactly sure how thick the metal is but this keeps water cold all day without sweating. I love ours and plan to buy more as my kiddo gets older.

The media could not be loaded.  I have been a mother now for almost 14 years and these cups are great for juice/water.
I’ve been using them for a year now with my 3 year old. I’ve only had this one 6 months though because my 10 year old broke the handle on the other one but I have to say these really last and barely ever leak. My 3 year old loves to throw cups and this cup definitely holds up! It’s holds 14oz which is a great size but not too heavy to carry because of the handle.
I put it in the dishwasher nightly and have not had 1 issue with mold build up, I do not do any extra cleaning with tools. Just dishwasher.
It’s easy to take apart and put back together. No strange parts that are confusing and hard to clean. I can’t say enough good things about this cup.

Before this one we used the Contigo hard straw cup which wasn’t bad but seemed to lose the ability to not leak after a couple months. This one is much better than the hard straw Contigo cup for kids.

This is the third Contigo auto spout I’ve purchased for my 6 year old and first for my three year old. They are great, easy for kids to open, and I don’t have to worry about plastic degrading in the sun and leaking into the water. We’ve had the dog chew on the plastic so it’s the only reason we’ve replaced them. I’m disappointed the replacement lids are hard to purchase on their own because the bottle itself will last forever but the plastic parts of the spout do get broken (or chewed) over time. Unlike other contigo kids models this one has good suction in the straw for the kids ease of use.

My 2y.o. Daughter loves drinking her water, we have the blue/green one as well as the pink/purple one.

PRO’s :
Easy to take apart and clean, holds a good amount of water (since she drinks a lot of water, we refill it once or twice a day which isn’t an issue for us). Even if it’s filled all the way up, she is still strong enough to hold it herself. Button to press in order for the spout to pop up is also easy enough for her to press but not so easy that it pops open on its own if she drops it. Speaking of, I LOVE that the mouthpiece is completely covered when pushed down. The small handle on the other end of the mouthpiece is handy and helps with impact when dropped.

CON’s :
I’ve had random moments when re-assembling that when it’s tipped over after she drinks her morning water, it’ll start to leak. I’m still unsure why it randomly leaks- when I notice it, I do always check the lid and straw attachment but they’re on correctly and fit snug.
I dislike that the one color I wanted (Coral and light blue) also came with Mermaids on it. I wish it was just solid colors but that doesn’t really effect its functionality. Just a personal opinion.
Apart of me does wish the handle was a bit flexible to make it easier to attach to the exterior of her backpack, but not a big issue, really.

Overall we are all PLEASED with these water bottles.

We’ve tried several styles of cups for to go water and this one is definitely the best. Our boy is a chewer, so he quickly chewed a hole through the soft clear sleeve over the mouthpiece, but I don’t see that this is a problem, at least not yet. The internal mechanism of this cup is COMPLEX, but it unscrews and pops open for relatively easy cleaning. I do a soak in bleach water periodically. To be clear, it does leak some, but it’s only a small amount and usually it does not leak at all. My son likes the handle on top and the push button to make the mouthpiece pop up.

I bought the dragon style for my 16mo water at daycare. First off, I love that there’s actually something with dragons for babies/toddlers. But the design is perfect. My son can pop the button to open the spout, and likes to fiddle to close it. It doesn’t leak because it has a little septum under the spout. The spout is soft textured but tough so he can chew on it when he is teething without issue. The straw is attached but easy to twist off to clean so it doesn’t get lost or fall off inside during use. The handle is easy for my son to carry. We love it so much we bought two more, including an insulated one to keep his water cool in the summer.

We’ve bought a number of these for our three small kids. We like them because they hold a decent amount of drink, are durable, and are very spill-proof. The kids never had any trouble learning how to flip up the sippy part.

The only thing is that they’re not the easiest to clean, and you really should take it apart and give it a more detailed cleaning every now and then. But that’s a minor thing and is the same issue you’d have with any cup that has a built-in straw.

We generally used camelbak waterbottles for our toddlers but they have been leaking through the straw so wanted to try this brand. Love it!!!!!! Have had it for about 2 months. I love how the mouth piece is enclosed when shut so germs from school don’t get all over it and the button is super easy for my 4 year old to press by himself. Next time they go on sale I plan to purchase more to replace the camelbak.

After years of water bottle frustration, I’ve settled on a standard, deal-breaker criteria for water bottles. Contigo has found a way to CHECK ALL THE BOXES – and does it without a ridiculous price tag (because we all know kids loose these things like it’s their job)…
1: DISHWASHER SAFE!
2: All straws, spouts, etc. are attached so they don’t get lost (but also come apart so they get cleaned thoroughly
3: Mouthpiece can be closed/covered to keep it clean
4: Insulated
5: Reasonably priced

I love Contigo bottles. I’ve been using them for years. This purchase was an upgrade as I have 2 from when my daughter was a baby, she’s 6 now. They’ve improved the spout system inside. It’s easy to remove and clean and as always, leak proof. The insulation keeps her water cool all day, of course it’s filled with ice and water. The only thing, I think, its missing is a lock to lock the spout down. Although, with this new model, I haven’t had any incident yet to where the spout pops up if you drop it. All in all, I love the bottle. Been loving it for years and Contigo makes great upgrades.

I originally found this bottle at Walmart and took a chance on it for my toddler. It’s got some great quality in how it’s designed. The lid has some weight to it, sturdy. The lid parts can be taken apart for cleaning but they remain linked to one another so they aren’t lost. Clever. I love how a 2 year old can easily push the button for the sippy piece to pop up. It’s fun and gives them a sense of control. It also hasn’t leaked. I toss it in the dishwasher but still have to use a bottle brush for the inner straw tube. I ordered one here since the first bottle got thrown repeatedly and finally cracked. Yeay toddlers….
