Facts About Fat Brain Toys Original Dimpl Brand Baby Toy

This toy says for ages 10+ months. Would this be entertaining to a 18 month old?

Yes, this is actually entertaining for many ages. When we gave this to our 9 mo granddaughter, she liked it and played but her 2 year old sister could hardly wait to play with it and then spent a good 10 minutes playing when she first got it.

Can it be chewed? I have a 10 year old special needs grandson who’s mental abilities are like a 12 month old.

I would say yes, my 18 month old chews on it. However since he’s a 10 year old he may chew through the silicone pop bubbles pretty quickly depending on how strong his teeth are

Is the plastic part PVC and phthalate-free?

This is the information about Dimpl that is on the Fat Brain Toy site.

does it say the colors and shapes when the button is pushed?

The item doesn’t “speak”. The names of each color are written on one side and the names of the shapes are written on the other side.

Does this contain bps/bpf (the bpa alternatives), lead and/or phthalates?

I saw on the Fat Brain Toys site that this toy is BPA free but don’t see any other info.

Is this appropriate for an 8 month old? I know about the Dimpl, but don’t like the fact that several said it came apart.

I think it Could work for that age if the child has the ability to press in the colors or at least touch it. Slightly older children will get the most benefit because they’ll have more hand dexterity to push in and also can learn colors and shapes on each side. I have not had a problem with it coming apart.

What age are these meant for? The packaging in the picture says 6m+ but the description says 10m.

I agree that 6 months and up is appropriate. Both of my grandkids love this toy. As soon as they could hold things, they were handed this toy. They love the bright colors, then they gnaw on it when teething, then they giggle when you pop it, then they are delighted when they learn to pop it themselves! We have multiples for the car (so they won’t fight over them!). It’s a wonderful, entertaining for any age, practically indestructible toy. Also easy to clean/sanitize. My grandkids are 4 years and 20 months, and the 4 year old still loves it! This is also one of my go-to baby gifts!

Can this toy be used in car travel trips?

Yes. It’s only about as big as my hand. Our son plays with it in the car, at church, the doctors office or even while wearing his chest compression vest.

On Fat Brain website this toy is should $12.95, why such a difference?

Hello. We are resellers and sometimes we need to do some adjustments to make some profits. Actually we are 7 sellers and the most economic one is $30.99 and Amazon will send it to your door. Thank you in advance.

Where is this made??

China manufacturer, plastic clamshell packaging.

Anyone using waldorf, montessori or charlotte mason philosophies think this is a quality toy, or should i stick with the classics?

I operate an early childhood learning center and this is a quality toy in my opinion. I wouldn’t put it into my commercial environment due to sanitation regulations and toy sharing but for my grandchild at home, it is perfect. It is a sensory toy that most “classics” don’t encompass.

I am always trying to find products for adult disabled people (chew items, cognitive function items, etc.)?

This would definitely be helpful it shows cause and effect by pushing the bubbles in and also great to chew on( my son chews on his all the time shakes it around and is always amazed by pushing the bubbles in and out)

Would this be an entertaining way for a 3 year old to keep their hands busy during a car or plane ride, or will it be boring for an older child?

I would think that the 3 year old child would be entertained very briefly with it, and then, as you say, get bored of it. BUT, this company does offer several other toys that would occupy that older, more inquisitive mind. BUT, this company does offer several other toys that would occupy that older, more inquisitive mind. I just searched their website for 3-year-old toys, and found a few that might be appropriate for a car/plane trip, for which I would imagine you’d need to limit the number of pieces and overall toy size. There are a couple of fidget toys that might work for the confined space of a car or plane. Good luck, and have a fun trip with that 3 year old–such a fun age!

Is this product really as good as advertised?

Gave it to my 4 month grandson as a Christmas gift… he loves it … it light weight so he can easily hold it and soft… 2 months later. He’s still playing with it.

My 1 year old granddaughter is not ready to learn Spanish yet. Can i purchase this toy in English only?

Our 1 year old grandson loves his toy and since he isn’t old enough to read it’s perfect. He loves the colors, textures and poping of this toy. Our 3 year old granddaughter also enjoys the toy. Hope this helps.

What does it all MEAN?

I watched my eleven-month-old daughter play intently with this toy, pushing the bubbles in rapid succession, flipping it around, and pushing them all again. Faster and faster, each time, pop pop pop, still the bubbles remained. A plaintive wail began to emit from my daughter’s heart, a primal cry of frustration and angst. She didn’t stop popping, flipping, and popping again, until the cry grew into a shriek. Finally she cast the toy to the floor, shaking her hands in dismay at the utter pointlessness of it all. What was it all for? Why do we struggle so? Is life naught but eternal toil? Are all tasks rote, any labor unfulfilling, as an infinite number of bubbles remain regardless of effort?

5/5 would give baby existential crisis again.

Perfect toy for a traveling 15 month old

I bought this toy for a long-haul plane ride (12 hours) with a 15 month old child. It was the perfect toy as there were no parts to lose, and she loved it! It was just challenging enough to keep her occupied for small chunks of time. When we arrived at our destination, she continued to play with it. It’s great for restaurants and at home. Once she pushed all the “dimples” through to one side, she would turn it over and start again. It’s also small enough to pop into a pocket or bag for transport. Excellent toy!

Everyone loves this thing

I bought this as a fidget for my 10 year old with autism. He loves it!! He plays with it all the time. Anyone who picks it up loves it. It’s interesting and relaxing!! Has held up to his very rigorous play for a few months now-which is impressive 🙂

Way more interesting than it looks!

I am a speech therapist who works with 3-5 year olds with autism. This is a well made toy and it is appealing to all of them. It is a good fidget as it is mostly quiet. It attracts their interest and holds it for long enough to slip in some therapy! Even my higher level children played with it for longer than I would have expected. I would highly recommend this toy for children with and without disabilities, in the up to 5 year old age range.

Engaging toy

My 2 granddaughters both love this toy. The youngest received it for her 1 year birthday, tho it is suitable for younger babies also. The 2+ year old immediately took possession and played with it for at least 20 minutes. It is colorful and attracts their attention. The baby caught on to the function quickly and liked handling it and chewing on it. All the adults had to try it out too. Will definitely buy this for baby gifts in the future.

Educational and attention holding fun!

Educational and attention holding fun! My 2 year old loves her Dimpl Duo and can easily spend 15-30 mins solid punching in the bubbles. What a great alternative to screen time on rainy days and during travel. Would highly recommend!

Love it!

My little girl loves this! I like it too lol, it work’s as a good fidget. Only if they made a single dimple key chain or something, that would be great! 🙂

Once again a sure hit with both kids!

I saw this on instagram and because it was from Fat Brain watched the ad. I have a six month old grandson and a three year old big sister. I seem to always find things for her so it was fun to see something he would really like. He does and so does she! I also have the Spin Again which is everyone’s favorite. I am a fan of Fat Brain toys and go there first for gifts and great toy idea!

Unending toy

I am an occupational therapist and I use this toy with all ages of kids. I call it the unending toy because it can be flipped over and repeated. In this world of electronics, there is something appealing about this tablet sized toy. The design is very smart. The kids that are oral seeking cannot bite the edges due to to corners are thicker than the middle. I have used this most successfully so far with kids with autism and varying developmental issues to work on finger isolation. It’s a great toy!

It is soft to touch. I only wish it …

It is soft to touch. I only wish it had a place to put a strap to hold it to a stroller or other places.
