Securely mount your Garmin Dash Cam 45, 46, 55, 56, 65W or 66W, your Garmin Speak Plus with Amazon Alexa, or the Garmin Speak with Amazon Alexa with the 010-12530-00 Low-Profile Magnetic Mount from Garmin! This mount enables you to keep your hands on the wheel while you navigate. The low-profile design helps minimize blockage of your line of sight.
Facts About Garmin 010-12530-00 Low-Profile Magnetic Mount
The best thing to do is go to your local hardware store. Buy a steel washer (should cost you less than $0.25), and use some Scotch VHB tape to attach it to your windshield. The magnet is in the ball mount, so all you need is a steel disc of the correct size.
No. The picture of this mount is deceptive. The height of this mount from base to top of the ball is approximately 32mm. The ball is 8mm. This is substantially smaller than the standard Garmin mount which has a 17mm ball.
It came with both, I was not able to just buy the magnetic disk. However I have seen that some people are using a Canadian (not US) 5 cent coin because it is mostly steel (~ 95%) and only nickel plated, whereas the US 5 cent coin is mostly copper and nickel. However I have seen that some people are using a Canadian (not US) 5 cent coin because it is mostly steel (~ 95%) and only nickel plated, whereas the US 5 cent coin is mostly copper and nickel. The 5 cent coin fits perfectly, but you have to find an epoxy/glue that will bond to give you the required strength – however, I do not know which would be the best product for that.
The magnet is for the attachment to the camera. This allows you to remove the camera easily. The mount to the windshield is a strong sticky base. I would not mountain it to the console. It will probably mount there but removing it could be an issue.
No, this mount is only compatible with devices in the Garmin Dash Cam series.
I think it could damage your leather dash.
I don’t believe there is a suction cup mount available. The 45 comes with one magnetic mount. To transfer it to my other vehicle, I ordered another mount kit from Amazon. Less than $20. Not the ideal solution, but it is what it is.
Works great with 67W and similar products. Much better than suction cup mounts
Let me guess what you mean by your question.

Or, you can mount (glue) the Garmin 010-12530-00 octagon thingy to your windshield and then, using a good adhesive, glue the other part of the mount to the octagon thingy.
I have no doubt that, in a good collision, this mount will fail and the camera will wind up on the dash board. I have no problem with that because these cameras are rugged. You could use one of those black waste-basket rubber bands (from the rear-view mirror) to help restrain the camera and soften the blow.
There is a magnet with a double side tape that you tape to your windshield, then the other magnet is attached inside mounting piece where the other end is attached to the Garmin unit.
Yes, this will work with a Garmin Dash Cam 46.
Am not sure. I have the Garmin 55.
I was not aware that $10 was expensive.
I believe it does. When I ordered this, I remember only having the ability to use my camera in 1 vehicle. After receiving this, I can use it in 2 vehicles. It worked out very well.
Yes, the Low-profile Magnetic Mount (010-12530-00) is compatible with the Garmin Dash Cam™ 47.
Info About Garmin 010-12530-00 Low-Profile Magnetic Mount (Reviews From Amazon)
I have a Garmin 45 dash cam that uses this mount and it works perfectly. I had it installed in my last car but when I traded it in, I forgot the magnet on the windshield. I ordered this replacement and (contrary to what other reviews say) it does include the magnet needed for the windshield. You simply peel the film on the adhesive off, stick it on your windshield where you want it, press firmly for a few seconds and then pull the mount away from the windshield. The mount will come off but the adhesive and metal disk comes off from the mount and stays in place. Then you just put the mount into your dash cam and slap your dash cam on your windshield after leaving the magnet on your windshield by itself for 24 hours. So yes, this is the replacement you are looking for, it includes everything you need; you just can’t see the magnetic disk because it’s in the mount itself before you remove the adhesive.
I usually only need the metal pad that sticks to the windshield. Unfortunately, they do not sell this piece by itself. You must buy this as a set. It works, has a smaller footprint than a suction cup. Trying to remove and reuse the metal pad yields poor performance.
fits the speak. As with other speak compatible mounts – the windshield glue holds really well.
So the metal octagon slab is difficult to remove and probably can’t be transplanted more than once.
If you have two mounts – and two cars – you’re in good shape and these fit both the speak and speak plus perfectly.
If you rent cars often and want to use the speak – then you’ll be frustrated with its lack of options to take it with you when you go.
They need to provide mounts that stick with tabs like those temporary sheetrock picture hangers. Mounts firmly – and holds the weight. To remove just pull the tab. Great idea – they just need to do something like that to make these portable garmin mounts a more attractive buy.
Works perfect for mounting my Garmin Dashcam 55. My first one stayed stuck to my windshield for months and was still strong. I had to get a replacement, because I moved my dashcam to a different location. Removing the magnet from my windshield took a little prying (strong adhesive, left no residue). Keep in mind, that after removing it, the adhesive will probably be significantly weaker. Just be sure you have it where you want it the first time. The price is just a little high for a piece of plastic and metal, though.
Needed to switch the camera from summer to winter vehicle and this fit! So glad I risked the purchase even though it wasn’t clear in the description if it will fit the Garmin Dash Cam Mini.
Adhesive on mag mount sticks like crazy – make sure you know where you want to mount it! I put mine on in the evening when it started to get dark and well, the next day I noticed it wasn’t in exactly the best place – i could not get it off to reuse it, so I’ve ordered another one. I don’t need the pivoting gimbal, just the mag mount with adhesive – what I don’t like is that the mag mount and gimbal is only sold in a set. Note – what I have noticed is that you can use a Canadian nickel if you can find a strong enough adhesive.
I have used this mount in two different vehicles but don’t try to remove it on the first try. Each time I applied it to the windshield and tried to remove leaving the magnet, the whole thing would come off. You have to apply to the windshield and leave the whole unit on the windshield for (12) hours and then you can remove leaving the magnet. The video makes it look like it can be done after holding it there for a minute or two. WRONG!
They should just make the little magnet available for sale and not the whole arm and magnet. Its basically a tenth of the price to purchase of a whole new camera. Most people just need the magnet to be able to switch camera from one car to another. Anyway, it works, and holds onto windshield like the original.
Works great. This only works one time on the windshield magnetic. Magnet on the Garmin is super.
I use this mount on my windshield for a Garmin Webcam. Works exceptionally well! The magnetic Garmin mount disrupted some of the blue tooth/wireless feature on my rear view mirror on my Lincoln MKT.
