Power up while you’re on the go with this 12 V adapter. It’s your in-vehicle charger when you’re out on the open road.
Facts About Garmin Nuvi Vehicle Power Cable , Black , Small
I do not know specifically, but read a comment from someone else that said it did work well with his old Garmin Nuvi 200
We purchased 2 of these as replacement chargers on our 4 different Nuvi 225W and they work just fine.
I can’t answer this for sure. I would assume that all garmin power cords are universal but do some more research.
I have the Garmin Nuvi 50, and the cable that comes with it – and this one – is absurdly short. It doesn’t reach from the cigarette lighter/12 volt plug and the windshield. I have also used the cable from my old BlackBerry phone (which is also USB mini), and it worked fine too. It is NOT unique, and you should not have to rig anything up. A nice length USB to USB mini should work just fine. You can also connect/charge this at home, with any plug that has a USB mini end.
The adapter that came with my garmin, fell apart. This is an exact replacement. It works fine on my Nuvie. You can always check Garmin web site for replacement parts.
No this unit DOES NOT CONTAIN the FM Traffic Receiver. It’s only for for keeping your unit charged and ready but still be able to use it while plugged in. I didn’t see one with the Traffic attachment on Amazon but did see it listed on the Garmin site. Hope this helps.
I just received mine. It will not plug into the 2797 GPS . The box was a generic garmin box with no product number or coding in it.

Yes it is compatible with the nuvi’s
NO, IT DOESN’T READ TRAFFIC UPDATES.
The one does apparently has a MICROCHIP. Even Garmin clarified that over the phone.
I thought satellite did that through the GPS itself. … NO, IT DOESN’T READ TRAFFIC UPDATES.

Sending this BACK.
No fuses
No, this cable is not compatible with the nuvi 760. The correct Vehicle Power Cable is part number 010-10747-03.
Yes, this will work with the Garmin nuvi 2699LMTHD.
This cable is compatible with your 2597LMT. Some troubleshooting may need to be completed to resolve the issue you are experiencing. To contact Product Support please visit the following link: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/
I have a 1390 Nuvi and not sure if the 2539 uses the same input for power. I would think so but can check with Garmin if compatible. This charger works great and have had it for over a year.
Info About Garmin Nuvi Vehicle Power Cable , Black , Small (Reviews From Amazon)
Works great as a replacement for the cord that came with my Nuvi 2599LMTHD.
Recently I purchased a new Nuvi 2599LMTHD, and the very first day I had it, managed to shut the cord in the car door and smash the end. I was very frustrated trying to figure out what cord I needed as a replacement, that would work with the traffic feature.
Thanks to a helpful review by another Amazon customer, I was able to determine that this cord would work for my Nuvi 2599LMTHD, even though the part number on this cord does
NOT match the cord that came with my unit. The 2599LMTHD has its traffic receiver built into the unit, so this cord (with the traffic antenna inside) is compatible.
Bought this for my Nuvi1390 which I bought back around 2009 as the original power cord was not working properly. I looked around at cords and found that the original had been discontinued and the original had the Traffic update antenna integrated into it. This one did not say it had the traffic antenna, but read one of the reviews that said it did even though the description did not show it as having it. Used it today and sure enough, it does in fact have it as I was getting traffic backup messages on my route through Nashville TN – GOOD DEAL !!!!!
Many have submitted reviews stating they get no traffic.
You were all confusing even to me, so I did my research.
Here’s the proper information on this cable:
This is Garmin Part # 010-11838-00 its their generic website order number for GPS WITH OR WITHOUT TRAFFIC.
The part number on the cable is actually TA20 320-00239-70, meaning its a TRAFFIC ANTENNA/CHARGING CABLE.
Its cheaper for them to make ALL cables with an antenna, than to stock 2 numbers.
If you have a Garmin GPS with built in traffic receiver, then this cable is for you.
Mine is a 2597 LMT
If you have a Garmin GPS with a receiver in the cable, you’ll know by the rectangular module inline to the cable,
of course this won’t get you traffic, but will charge.
Garmin has 3 basic cables:
TA
For GPS units with BUILT-IN traffic receivers.
This cable, is just a charger with an antenna built in.
The "in the box" description at Garmin for this unit states (Lifetime traffic antenna/vehicle power cable)
GTM
For traffic capable GPS units.
This cable has a charger, and traffic receiver in the cord, just below the mini USB connector, it is rectangular, and inline to the cable.
The "in the box" description at Garmin for this unit states (Lifetime traffic receiver/vehicle power cable)
GTM HD
For HD traffic capable receivers, it looks like the GTM.

I bought this to replace a broken TA-20 Garmin power adapter with a built-in antenna. I own a Garmin 2595-LMT that has the built-in traffic receiver. My other option was an expensive GTM-60 (which works), but costs a lot more money. The adapter arrived in the mail ahead of schedule and has been successfully tested for traffic functionality on both I81 and Route 66 in the northern Virginia area for a bit under a year. Routing/draping the cable over the passenger sunshade support helps in traffic radio reception. The more expensive GTM-60 supposedly gives more frequent updates, but the information from the built-in traffic receiver via the TA20 antenna cable is still better than the local broadcast radio station, especially for work zones. Note that cheaper non-Garmin cables will provide you with power for your older GPS, but will usually omit the antenna for your built-in traffic radio receiver (if you have one). It was worth it to get the “real thing.”
I have an older Garmin Nuvi that kept reporting it had been disconnected while still plugged in. Decided to try this new power cable and I no longer have the problem.
Its expensive but it did power a large Garmin Drivesmart 65. The after market charger I was using was not powerful enough to keep the GPS charged over a long drive but the Garmin charger had no problem
When my Garmin Nuvi stopped working I thought it was the GPS , but after reading reviews I realized it could just be the power cord. Wheeeew, that’s what it was. I spent a little more to get a garment product. Some people complained that other cheaper cords just didn’t last. Glad to be up and running again. Just make sure you have the right size plug to fit your GPS..
It was a real challenge when the screen went black on my Garmin in the middle of Chicago. I thought I would need to buy a new GPS unit if I ever got where I was going. We travel about the country frequently. But the new cable brought it back to life. The previous cable had lasted several years. Hopefully the new one will too.
I purchased my Garmin 2011. It started to be hard to hold charge. So I took Garmin and got a new battery, however, once in put in the car it still would not charge. So I took the charger to get a fuse. That did not work. So I looked too purchased a new one, and I found out that it was discontinued. Then I saw this one and ordered it. This new charger works great with my old Garmin.
Garmin Gear is good stuff and this works great, BUT they are not Cat Proof. As we set out for an extended trip in the RV discovered the Cat had munched on the Cord. Quick search of Amazon found the OEM plug and they shipped it to the next Campground in our trip. Wire Loom now surrounds the cable to make it Cat Proof.
