The wire inside is very small and marginal at best. It will probably operate with a lot of heat while the compressor is working full blast.
Perhaps an AWG with a LOWER number, which is larger wire, is much wiser to prevent fires. A few dollars more may save lives or tens-of-thousands of dollars, maybe even your house.

I purchased these a couple weeks ago. They have them in a 5 pack very cheap. I think I paid 19.99 for all 5 of them.

Hello Cathy, thank you for your question. That spec is not listed on the spec sheet but it is thicker than an inch. Not by much though.

It is not wall mountable. Maybe some Velcro could work.

The plug is 1.25" high and 2" wide. When fully plugged in it sticks 3/4" out from the wall. The part that you plug into is 4.5" by 1.5" wide by 1" tall

To everyone saying this doesn’t have surge protection: The object on the end of the hot and neutral leads is a metal oxide varistor, which has extremely high resistance at household voltages and extremely low resistance in excess of those voltages.

In other words, it does have surge protection.

It is minimal, and simple, but what do you expect? It’s an attractive extension cord with three outlets and a little bit of surge protection. There are better surge protectors, but this one is an inexpensive everyday choice.

Incidentally, I am using it with a powerline adapter, and the fact that it has no voltage regulation and relatively brutish surge protection actually makes it a better choice for me.

I needed an extension cord and this 15 foot length one is great. I would recommend 15’ over any shorter length because it’s nice to have the extra length even if you don’t need it. Overall I would highly recommend as it’s functional and a good value.

NOW NOW NOW these are some awesome power cords. Upon opening the package and feeling the build quality of these YOU KNOW they are built to last. 1600+ watts mean even a fridge would do nothing to these. 13 amps can pass through these and a fridge can use 3-6 amps! The cable is flexible but has stiffness. I hooked on one (got 4 of these) a 55′ 4K TV from TCL, a ROKU model, my gaming PC (i5 6500 and RX 470 in a 600 watts power supply) and an Apple TV switching sometimes for a Nintendo Switch. This thing is awesome. The only thing that you can see is the grey cable piece and the beautiful squared angled plug in the wall. Looks so well done and does not get in the way making the setup look ugly or something. Looks well build, done and designed. Will DEFINITELY buy more of this same one when needed.

It’s funny how a little thing like a cloth wrap on the cord can make a product seem so much nicer and higher end. It does slide over itself and across shelf corners where a rubber/plastic cord would get stuck or tangled, so it’s practical too. Really, the flat, angled plug on this this is half of what makes it so excellent. I use it behind my turntable/record shelf, and it would probably not fit if it were a standard straight plug.

I do really wish that this thing had a master on/off switch like bigger power bars do, but that’s a pretty minor gripe. All in all, really nice product.

An extension cord with surge protection, what a terrific idea! No longer do you need to buy a huge surge protector, you can just get this and it gives you three convenient outlets.

The low-profile prong is great when you want this plugged flat against the wall, and the braided cord is good at keeping this tangle-free.

I think my only question is: how do we know this cord has done its job of protecting your devices from a surge? Does it stop working? It would be great if the manufacturer could clarify.

I got two of these and they are very handy around the house. Recommended.

I bought several of these at my local blue big box store over the last couple of years as I moved furniture around and covered up outlets that my apartment has way too few of. These extension cords met every requirement I had when I was looking to buy one. 1. They have a flat wall plug that does not cover up the other wall outlet. 2. They have a grounded plug. 3. They are surge protected. I live in an OLD, early 20th C. apartment and have no clue when the wiring was last updated. 4. They don’t have so many plugs that I’ll overload the wall socket if they’re all in use. 4. The braided cord is more durable than a plastic sheathed one when it comes to curious pets. 5. Can be mounted with removable wall mounting strips.

I found that I needed another cord a couple weeks ago as I covered up yet another electrical plug with a new wall unit and my local blue box store doesn’t carry them anymore. The one I ordered is exactly the same as the ones I previously bought and works exactly as it needs to. It’s slim wall plug design makes sure that any boxes I put on my new wall unit do not stick out due to the plug behind it and the fact that the plugs are all on side of the plate means I can use some removable wall mounting strips to mount it to the side of my unit.

These cords are a must have, I don’t have anything bad to say about them after having used them for at least a year now. I recently bought a second one for the bedroom.

What I like:
-Well Braided – no cheap feel.
-Firm plug-in, not too hard to plug in or remove power cords
-The flat plug helps greatly if behind furniture.

I use two of these by my bed and one goes to each side so that me and my girlfriend can plug in our phones, smart watches, tablets, etc. I leave the brick nearby and can pull it further onto the bed for those times you lay in bed all day and play on your tablet or laptop and need power.

There are no con’s to this item, I’ve had no issues for the year or so I’ve owned it and honestly that’s how it should be with something as simple as an extension cord.

This cord gives plenty of room and the wire feels both strong and flexible. I didn’t realize that the cord comes out to the right of the switch, which isn’t a big deal, since you have a lot of room with the cord, but it is something to take not of if you will need all 8 feet for your purposes. Also, it only has 3 outlets, which is fine, but if you are plugging in a bulky laptop cord, you have more like 2 outlets, unless your other 2 plugs are very small.

I used these to add some lighting in the bedroom and for an island plug in the kitchen. I used 2 sided tape to adhere them to both the wall and the side of the cabinets. The dark color blends in nicely and added outlets are a life saver. This is a VERY nice product both the plug strip and the cord feel heavy duty and well made. I’ve ordered a few more for additional locations.

It’s just what we needed. I specifically purchased this long, GE surge-protected cord to tuck behind / inside our new Tuscany leather power theater chairs, which had to be positioned somewhat in the middle of the room – as opposed to against a wall. — The 15-ft GE cord is long enough to be hidden perfectly and protected within a thick rubber duct cord cover ( THIS ONE: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XUE4VX0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) which runs sideways – and almost unnoticed – on a small area along our wood floors to reach the electrical wall outlet. Very happy that it acts as both a thick extension cord, is surge-protected, and can be protected by a thick-enough cord cover to be stepped-on.
