Facts About Haakaa Manual Breast Pump 4oz/100ml, New Style

Do i have to have leaky boobs for this to work?? I never leaked with 1st born and about ti have 2nd child.

Yes it will work! It’s not just to catch the leak that’s already there, it actually has suction and “pumps” the milk out.

How long would you put your haakaa pump into the boiling water?

I boiled water, shut off stove and placed it in for five minutes. That was the instructions on other baby products, so I went with that!

Can the part of the haaka generation 3 be used on this one? If yes, I can save some money.

Unfortunately, it can’t. But I recommend you to purchase a silicone cap or flower stopper with this pump.

In addition to being bpa-free, is it bps-free?

The insert says they are “BPA, PVC, and lead-free and are tested against European EN14350 and US FDA regulations.”
But no where does it specifically say “bps-free”. Hope this helps.

Can I wear the Hakka in the hot tub?

Good night, how are you? I don’t see a problem using it on the hot tub.

I have no milk after giving birth, will this help me produce milk?

It won’t help you produce milk. It only catches the let down while you are nursing.

Does this product have a strap to hang around your neck?

Sorry, we don’t have the strap, but the haakaa breast pump quality is quite good, made of high quality food grade silicone.

Is this thing stable on the table, why do I feel it’s top-heavy?

It sits stable on a table. It is more fo a milk collection system than a pump though.

Is this product really as good as advertised?

Yes! Don’t hesitate!

Best of for Child 3-5 years ?

Best for any breast feeding mom regardless of child’s age

Did you buy the flower stopper or do you not need it? There are some haakaa breast pump that come with a “flower stopper” and some that don’t .only di

The silicone flower stopper is designed to provide Haakaa silicone breast pump airtight seal, and to prevent leaks a and spills.

Can I steam sterilize this pump?

Hi, the haakaa pump is a silicone material breast pump, The best sterilize way is steam sterilization, or can be sterilized under boiling water for 2-3 minutes.

To see the pictures, I think the new 100ml hakka pump is larger than 90ml hakaa pump. Have any moms bought those two products?

100 ml should be slightly larger than the 90ml. I have bought the 100 twice. I love it.

Do you speak english?

Is it ok to put this pump in thw fridge overnight? Or silicone does not do well in cold?

Hi, the silicone breast pump is ok in the fridge overnight, resistant to high and low temperatures, plesae don’t worry.

Game Changer

A little background. For the first month of my daughter’s life I exclusively pumped due to early on nipple confusion and inverted nipples that made breastfeeding a painful and stressful. Now hear me out I LOVE my Spectra2 electric pump, but after exclusively pumping for a month I realized quickly that it wouldn’t be sustainable (AKA it was miserably time consuming). With the use of a nipple shield I am now able to successfully nurse. From pumping all the time I had a consistent oversupply that lead to some serious engorgement. As much as I was happy to keep my supply up to build a freezer stash I was looking for a more comfortable and less time consuming way to collect milk- in comes the Haakaa.

1) Can be used while nursing OR pumping on the opposite breast.
2) Consistently pulls 2-3 oz per feeding/ pump/ let down.
3) When applied correctly it is VERY comfortable.
4) Compact- great for travel or use in the car. It takes up very little room in the diaper bag.

1) If you have a squirmy baby they may be able to kick the pump off.
2) The measurements are about .5 a ML off. If you are freezing or storing that milk be sure to measure separately to get an accurate amount.
3) Totally worth it to buy the lid or flower stopper. I have only ever had it tip once but it is still disappointing to see liquid gold go to waste.

Final thoughts- I have spent in upwards of $400.00+ to find a breastfeeding solution that works for me and my baby. If I would have known a $15.00 pump would be that solution I would have bought it a lot sooner and saved myself a lot of headache, stress, and painful boobs. Seriously even if it doesn’t work for you what is $15 in the grand scheme of things? Buy the pump, build a stash, and love nursing your kiddo.

This is the best $12 I’ve ever spent. I am an exclusive pumper (by necessity, not by choice), and I have heard many people say that they’ve had better luck with manual pumps than electric ones, so I started researching them. I had heard and read so many wonderful things about this Haakaa that I really wanted to try it, but I was not sure it would work for me because the only people who seemed to review it were those who are able to put their babies to the breast; they report feeding the baby on one breast and using the Haakaa pump on the unoccupied breast, which I obviously cannot do. I was hesitant to buy it because I was afraid that this model would not work for an exclusive pumper (everyone describes it not as a “pump” per se, but rather a “milk catcher” of sorts), and that it was only meant for those who could breastfeed their babies straight from the tap. But I figured, hey, it’s only twelve bucks, and if it doesn’t work for me, I can always give it to someone else who can use it. Boy, was I wrong! This thing is awesome!

As soon as it arrived, I washed and sterilized it, and immediately stuck it to my breast. Within seconds, I was collecting drops of milk. At first I thought, “Oh boy, this wasn’t even worth it, it’s just a few drops,” but after about ten minutes, I had collected about a half ounce. And let me be clear here: I usually have to work hard for my milk. I am not one of those leaky women who can’t keep her milk from spilling out; I rarely have to wear breast pads, and I usually have to sit at the pump for a good minute or so before anything starts to happen. So if it works for me, it should work for anyone who’s producing any milk at all.

The cool thing about this Haakaa is that you don’t have to sit in one spot to collect milk; you can put on a big tee shirt and walk around the house and do whatever you need to do while you’re discreetly collecting milk (okay, so maybe it’s not that discreet–it does protrude in the shirt, but still!). I collected about two ounces just from wearing it around the house for about twenty to twenty five minutes! I am ordering a second one so that I can hopefully double my output and cut down on the time I have to spend tethered to the electric pump. Oh, and an added bonus that I didn’t expect: I think the Haakaa has actually INCREASED my output, and I’ve only used it one time! I took it off earlier, and I immediately started leaking milk and soaking the front of my shirt–something I have NEVER had a problem with before (but hey, it’s a good problem to have if it means feeding my son)! Hooray!

I do recommend what other reviewers have said in that you really should fold the flange down (invert it) before suctioning this cup to the breast. It makes the suction much, much better. I’ve seen where others complain that the measurements are just a tiny bit off, but WHO CARES?! Unless you plan on giving the milk to your kid straight from the Haakaa (which I doubt), you’re going to be pouring it into a bottle or freezer bag with accurate measurements anyway. I plan on using this in the shower tomorrow because I often find myself crying over spilled milk when I watch my letdown happen and that precious gold goes down the drain!

Bottom line? This thing is $12. Just get it. You won’t be sorry.

Makes life so much easier!!

I absolutely love my hakka! The best way to put it on I posted a oictire. That way the baby cant kick it off. The way it tells uou to do it, it falls off very easly and the milk spills. I use my hakka while feeding or pumping (i pump one boob at a time) it makes life with my newborn much easier!

Amazing!!! Only regret….wish I would have ordered one sooner

Over the first 24hrs of having this I’ve pulled over 10oz of otherwised wasted milk! I can’t believe how well it works! Initially I was concerned that it wouldn’t work because I do not leak that much at all. If you are one of those people…rest assured the suction totally changes this! I have the 90oz 1st generation haakaa and am glad I went with this one just because it’s the smallest one. There isn’t a ton of room to use it when feeding your baby so this size worked well for me. Also cleaning it is very fast compared to pumping parts. I am still electric pumping once In the morning as well, but overal this will help me double my milk stash quickly. Get it ladies…you won’t be disappointed!!!

Saves milk like I couldn’t imagine. Buy it!!

I wish I bought this for my first child. About 1 week after delivery I started using the Haaka while nursing to catch the let down. After baby feeds on one side, I use the pump to make sure I have completely emptied and have saved so much milk. Picture shows 3 weeks of collection, which is about a gallon size bag filled with frozen milk each week! I am not pumping between nursing, this is really just what I am catching with nursing. I really struggled with milk production on my first (probably started running too soon) but I am amazed at how much I have already stored up by using the Haaka. I love this product. I already bought two more to always have one available when I am nursing.

Yup… I posted a pic of these actually on. Because you’re here to find real reviews and I’m here to give it to ya, friend. I also posted an infographic that helped me because I put mine on wrong FOR SO LONG and I want to help others avoid that. (PS- yup, your nips will look like that too with these on. Just a heads up.)

I was a huge undersupplier until I started using these things consistently and now half of my stash can be contributed to these alone! I put them on when I first wake up every morning while I change my baby’s diaper and these bad boys catch almost 4 ounces that would’ve otherwise gone to waste in a nursing pad without them. I’m almost one year postpartum and I’ve learned that the trick is to use them consistently so you can train your body to continue leaking even after your supply has regulated. While I was on maternity leave, I put them on the opposite side while she was feeding on the other and would get at least 1-3 ounces each feed (which doesn’t sound like much, but it really adds up quickly throughout the day!) I’ve since stopped using them on the opposite side while she’s feeding (because she’s a wild animal who kicks them off every 5 seconds) but never stopped putting them on first thing in the morning and they still work. I now have an excess of 1,000 ounces frozen and I can stop pumping earlier than I expected (thank you baby Jesus).

You do have to take it off and reposition after the initial letdown but that’s because the way they’re designed, the pressure is what pumps the milk out without having to actually pump them so the container expands as it’s filling up. Super easy once you get the hang of it. Also, there are two sizes available (picture attached next to a roll of paper towels for comparison) and I love the smaller one best just because I find the size more manageable while handling my bucking bronco of a child. The bigger one has a suction cup on the bottom which is awesome because these spill faster than my third glass of wine but I still prefer the smaller one. I just make sure I place them inside of a cup on the counter to avoid accidentally knocking them over and crying for a few days about it.

One last thing, I also bought the Haakaa ladybugs and I’ve never bought anything more worthless. Just.. don’t. Go for these instead.

Anyway, I hope this was helpful to someone trying to make the decision! I’m off to have my third glass of wine before I try to get pregnant again but I truly can’t recommend these enough!

It’s one ounce off!

The media could not be loaded.  I love how easy it is to use and I love that I can catch between 1-3oz per feeding instead of wasting it. What I do not like is that the haakaa is one ounce off. So just be aware of that.

Major milk saver! Great for highly producing mom’s and mom’s starting out.

I’m 4 weeks postpartum and I just bought this a few days ago.
My baby wasn’t eating as much as I was producing and has been getting gassy because my flow had been too quick. He also only eats from one side at a time.
I started using this and I use it twice a day and collect 8-14 oz. My flow doesn’t seem to be bothering my newborn anymore which is fantastic!

Picture is what was collected from a single session today. Collected from primarily the left side (lesser producing side) and a little bit from the right (over producing side) after he was done nursing.
It didn’t completely empty me, so if he needed to be topped off, there was still some left for him. Having a little bit left in is great so he can get a little topper and then fall asleep without choking on a mouth full of milk.

Easy way to build your milk supply while feeding baby!

Bought this item because I read the reviews and wanted to try it out for myself. I absolutely love it. My baby is now a month and a half old and I have a freezer full of milk stored up. I use this product during my night feedings. While baby drinks from one side, I use it on the other boob to collect milk. Easy! Doesn’t require effort, and it doesn’t make any noise. You’ll be surprised how much milk comes out of you.

Way cheaper than an electric pump

I have 3 kids and for the first 2 used both a hospital grade pump and a Medela pump that was more inexpensive. I find I get at least as good a result with the Haakaa pump, without the clunky electric pump, the need to be near an outlet, the obnoxious noise, the difficult and time consuming cleaning process. This is so easy to clean, so small and portable. And it is sooo much less expensive! I will say that it takes some practice getting it suctioned on, and I don’t trust it to just hang on and not fall off and spill all the milk, so I hold on to it the entire time. I also only pump occasionally, to build up a little “just in case” storage for my newborn, or to relieve extra pressure when my little one overslept and didn’t fully empty my overfull breast, or to help unclog a blocked duct. As someone who has always had trouble with pumping, I find this at least as effective as the electric pump, and without many of the annoying drawbacks. It may not be as efficient as a hospital grade pump, but I have only used those while baby was in the hospital, not at home, so most of my experience was with a lesser pump.

In conclusion, The Haakaa manual breast pump is the world’s only “instant” manual breast pump, meaning it’s WAY faster than electric or battery-operated pumps. The Haakaa uses 2 strong pumping arms to gently squeeze and massage the breast. The pump moves fluid out of the breast in 15 seconds, meaning you can pump up to 4 times a day while only spending 2 minutes at the breast each time. The Haakaa is practical, affordable, convenient and sanitary. It’s sure to become a popular new household item for mothers everywhere.
