Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream provides protective moisture for the breasts. Lanolin is the natural oil of wool, and Procter and Gamble (P&G) have been using lanolin to make their own products since 1886. Lanolin is concentrated with fatty acids, proteins, and vitamins and is one of the oldest forms of medicine in the world. Lanolin has been used for centuries to soothe and soften skin. Lanolin is hypoallergenic and non-irritating to skin, and is safe to use while pregnant. Lanolin, from sheep’s wool, has long been used for its moisturizing and antibacterial properties. It can be used on babies and in adults, and is now available in a tube that simply dispenses a thin layer onto the nipple. Lanolin can be used to help relieve chapped nipples, and can also be used to put babies to sleep. The Lanolin Nipple Cream is fragrance-free and can be applied to the breast as often as needed without irritation.

I didn’t use it for my nips, but for my nose when I started using a CPAP at night. The doctor recommended I take the tiniest bit and rub it on my nostrils. It helps the mask “adhere” and prevents drying and cracking. I loved it.
The expiration date is located on the flap opening on the box as well as on the end of the cream tube at the top. My lanolin cream expires 07/2018 I hope I was able to help you out with this information.

It was recommended to me in the hospital when I was breastfeeding, and my research suggested that it was indeed the purest product I could find. It was remarkably curative and soothing. I highly recommend! Good luck!

Nope! Also can leave on prior to breastfeeding as well.
It is the 1 41 oz. The manufacturer recently changed the size, and this seller didn’t update their image.
I am not sure what the letters HPA mean, maybe natural hypoallergenic? The product ad says For more information to call: (1-800-292-3794). I know one thing, this cream was great for my nipples/breast while I was breastfeeding. It worked great.
2 in a carton.
On the crimp of my tube it says expiration of March of 2020. So about 3 years as I just received them.
I put it on each time after I nurse and mine lasts about 2 months. It will depend on how often you use it. You may want to get a second tube if using for nursing.
Hi Cheyanne. Thank you for your question. Our HPA Lanolin is 100% pure lanolin. We’ve never specifically tested it for this purpose, but if it requires pure lanolin, it should work.
Yes..I dont use it as its intended to be used. I use it every evening before bed as a lip moisturizer. I haven’t had chapped lips since. Works get in the Winter months.

Info About Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream for Breastfeeding, 1.41 Ounces (Reviews From Amazon)
This was recommended by a friend, but I didn’t think it was going to be much different than Vaseline. Boy was I wrong. This stuff is AMAZING! It gives IMMEDIATE relief and lasts forever. The best part is that you don’t need to use a lot at all! My nipples are so sore but as soon as I put this on it somehow goes away! The weird thing is that t doesn’t just take away the surface pain it clears some of the “Aching” too. I’m so happy with this! If you find my review helpful please mark it so. Thank you!!
I know that this is technically a nipple cream but hear me out… it works as a FANTASTIC lip balm. I’ve had this queued in my shopping cart on Amazon for some time now but when I saw Jonathan Van Ness recommend this product (Tan uses it as well?), I admit that I was pretty much sold and purchased it right away. I started using this product right about the same time when my skin had a major freak out as a result of testing out a new acne face wash. My skin got very dry and very bumpy (I normally have oily-combination skin). My cheeks were hit hard but my lips were probably the worst; they were slightly swollen but peeling badly and incredibly bumpy! I applied this product to my lips religiously day and night and within a few days, they were back to normal!
The product is slightly greasy so now that my lips are healed, I save it for night time use only. Lanolin is actually one of the ingredients that are in the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask so if you want a cheaper (and unscented) lip balm that sort of does the same thing, this nipple cream is the way to go!
I put them in little lipgloss tubes because I use it as lip balm in the winter and it WORKS SO MUCH BETTER THAN CHAPSTICK OR VASELINE! this stuff turns my cracked lips into soft smackers as soon as I put it on 💋
I bought a 10 pack of the lip gloss tubes on Amazon for like $2, warmed up the Lanolin a little bit so it was easier to pour and get in the small tube openings, then closed em up and carry with me everywhere! one 8oz tube was enough to fill 3 gloss tubes with some extra left over. one for my purse, my car, and my nightstand 💕🙏🏼
Without this product, I would surely have gone crazy. Pure coconut oil works really well for keeping nipples from getting dry and cracked, but when you need to use the big guns, this product is great. I have been dealing with a baby with some serious nursing issues the past four months, and this product has been a lifesaver. The lanolin is super thick and incredibly moisturizing. Just a small dab warmed up on the finger and gently applied does the trick after a nursing session. I use it every time I nurse during the day, and use the Lansinoh Soothies with coconut oil at night, and I have avoided getting any cracks or bleeding. This is definitely a must have for nursing mothers, and I love that it is one simple ingredient, and safe for baby, no need to wash before feeding.
In all transparency, I am not a nursing mother but a chapped lip sufferer. I have very dry, peeling and easily cracked chapped lips. I am on Isotretinoin (commonly known as Accutane or Claravis) and was using vaseline as recommended by my dermatologist. Saw on several accutane forums that people were recommending using 100% lanolin/nipple cream for lips instead. I’ve been on accutane for 2 months and used both vaseline and this product and let me say that this product works so much better than vaseline. Vaseline creates a good barrier on top of the lips but lanolin goes a step further and works to heal the skin underneath while leaving a protective barrier on the skin. I’ve gone as far as putting it on my face at night to help moisturize and heal it. I just purchased my second tube and there’s a good chance that even after I’m off accutane, I’ll be using this product for my lips because it’s just so effective.
One note: while it’s not greasy in a traditional sense, I was being lazy one day and wiped the excess from my finger onto a pair of darkish gray yoga pants. It left what looked like a grease stain on them even after they were washed (but I had forgotten and didn’t treat the pants for the mark before washing). So just be cautious to make sure that it doesn’t wipe off on any material/fabrics.
My new lip moisturizer. My daughter thinks it’s gross to use “nipple cream” on my lips but after my lips became resistant to Vaseline and would burn and peel I had to find a replacement coming across this salve. It works wonders and a little goes a long way.
OMG…. buy this immediately!!!! I have been having a terrible issue with my lips cracking due the dry winter air. I bought this based on the good reviews of this particular lanolin product. Who knew that a nipple cream could work for lips. True story, I am having work done on my teeth and while I was in the dentist chair the corner of my lips started to crack. The corners of my lips started to crack. The hygenist put some vaseline on the corners. It worked temporarly. but was not great and I cant stand that smell. Also, he gave me a RX and the price was $70. No thanks. I received this yesterday and immediately put it on. RELIEF! This morning my lips are so hydrated and soft. This is a must have for the dry winter heating in NY apartments. I will never be without this product. Buy it now.
This has been a LIP SAVER for me…. Accutane (an oral acne medication) has completely dried myosin/face/ lips out… to the point of swelling due to irritation, peeling pieces of my lip off in sheets / chunks, and constantly cracks and is bleeding….*Super cute*
but if you have done accutane then you know the struggle of side effects to cure acne …and these are the FACTS lol — i have tried IT ALL…..then i read someone mention in an accutane group i follow, that they are using nipple cream on their lips, and LET ME TELL YOU I BLESS THAT SOUL FOR GRACING ME WITH THIS SECRET because my lips have been SO much better ever since i started using this! (they are not back to normal yet but that’s expected while still taking the medication however they are so so sooo much better than before. just a couple little patches still healing now and the swelling and pain has gone away! )
Its SUPER soft and hydrating. a little goes a long way. it feels nice and conditioning and has a very airy light pleasant scent. and best of all my lips have healed and look/feel SO much better. WAY less peeling and no cracks or bleeding. This is not just for your nipples…..this is a MUST if you are dealing with dry lips as well.
This stuff is great! Lather on a pea-sized amount after breastfeeding, or right before you hop in the shower. (It not only soothes, but protects.) It’s baby-safe made from 100% sheep lanolin (a natural oil from their wool), doesn’t have any unpleasant odor, and comes in convenient sized tubes for travel. It’s especially helpful in the first week or so of breastfeeding because of baby learning to nurse properly and the syrupy colostrum that takes more work for baby to suck in the first place. I carry it with me everywhere!
Some time back, I had a poorly handled teeth whitening experience, and the whitening gel left my lips extremely dry, cracked, and painful. I tried several products that were supposed to remedy the issue, and finally found a Korean lip gloss that did the trick. But that product was difficult to get, and costly, and I decided to try lanolin as my future lip “repair and maintenance” go-to. What a great find!
One tube seems set to last me for a couple years, or longer. It takes the tiniest dab applied at night to leave my lips soft and healthy.
But I recently found another use for this product, and while it’s slightly embarrassing to relate, I will do so because my review may spare someone else discomfort.
I’ve been undergoing exams and tests to diagnose and treat a painful GI malady, and one step in the process involved having a colonoscopy. Now, this is my third such procedure, and I remembered from previous experience that, for me, the worst aspect of the prep was the fact that after 2-3 hours of near-constant poos, my poor bum was raw and burning. Once before, I’d used Desitin, and the next time, Vaseline. Neither had sufficient staying power to do the trick.
Based on my experience with using the lanolin on my lips, I suspected it might be just what was needed. I applied a generous layer to the area in question right before glugging down my first glass of noxious liquid, and lo! The lanolin provided a protective barrier that even bilious waste couldn’t penetrate. I can’t say I ended the evening with a happy little bum, but at least it wasn’t as red as a baboon’s ass, and the discomforts of the experience were lessened considerably.
As it turns out, I will quite probably be saying goodbye to my colon soon, and as a result of the surgery, will likely have “issues” with diarrhea for a good while. This being the case, I intend to order several more tubes of this product, because I will surely need it!
I hope my experience and review will be of help to anyone else facing such uncomfortable medical issues, and that this product will help them, as it helped me, to avoid some pain.
