Info About LeapFrog 2-in-1 LeapTop Touch,Green (Reviews From Amazon)
Got this for my 3 year old for Christmas. She specifically wanted a “laptop like mommy’s,” and this fit the bill perfectly. I wanted the full keyboard (many similar products have fewer keys), and I don’t mind that it is in alphabetical order, rather than the usual QWERTY keyboard setup. She loooooves pretending to type like she has observed me doing, and it doesn’t hurt that there are little educational games and songs as well. She also likes that it flips over into tablet mode. This was a real bargain for the purpose that it has served. All around, best Christmas purchase for her–aside from her first bike. 😉
I bought this tablet/laptop for my grandson and one and a half year-old son. It was a Christmas present for them. They Love playing with it. They can carry the tablet anywhere. I love Scout the little puppy dog. They can learn their ABCs, counting, games and there’s lots of cute songs. This was a great buy.
Since everything is WFH now my little keeps wanting to play on our laptops. It was hard to decide which toy laptop we wanted fir him because we do not allow screen time for him. I wanted something that was very basic with no WiFi or games. I hit the jackpot! The computer is very straight forward and just goes over letters, numbers, a little bit of reading, and music. For our needs we especially like the old school pixelated screen as this doesn’t hypnotize him. We offer him this toy when mom and dad are really busy on the computer and can sit him next to us while he plays with his.
Ordered this for my 2 year old niece as a present. Both she and her 4 year old brother love it! We mainly use the ‘alphabet’ learning portion and my niece loves to follow along and sound out the letters. The “game” portion is interesting enough for the 2 year old, but the older child is less impressed. It’s mainly just “popping” stationary bubbles to reveal the letter. I will say that so far (knock on wood), it has held up to the rough antics of children and one pretty firm knock against a heavy steel bar stool (an accident caused by children running amuck while holding new presents) with only minor scratches on the hard plastic. Definitely would recommend for small children between ages 2 and 5 (pre-k)!
I love this little ‘laptop’ for kids. It is great for additional support while teaching kids how to read. I think this had a huge influence on my daughter learning how to identify letters and numbers prior to the age of 2. It’s engaging and fun, and such a great tool for kids learning to annunciate, read/identify letters and numbers, and get an idea of how to spell. I gift this to all kids at their first birthday. The sound has 2 levels of volume, both of which I think may be a bit too loud, but not deafening. Thankfully, the voice and activities are not at all annoying to hear repetitively. I highly recommend this for kids to keep them occupied in the car, or at home when you need to get things done as it is really engaging and educational.
I bought one of these second hand. It keeps my kid entertained like nothing else. Then it died. (after checking the ratings this is not uncommon) Changed batteries but nothing. Opened it up and one of the tiny cords that led from the (batteries?) to the on/off switch had disconnected. I tried to reconnect it (following a youtube video) to no avail. SO I will absolutely update if the new one craps the bed, but I was obviously willing to drop $20 to replace a $5 used one. Scout + my 27 month old singing to 20 or singing the ABCs is worth the $
I can’t believe how much my almost 2.5 year old loves this. He’s a pro at tablets and cell phones, so I thought this might bore him with the basic monocolor pixilated screen–but he looooves this! He carries it everywhere, works on it like it’s his job, mimics what it says and talks back to it… He’s not fully talking yet, but he’s saying all the phrases from this and they’re nice ones like “thank you” and “great job.” He loves flipping back and forth between laptop and tablet mode. He was already familiar with Scout, so I don’t know if that helped or not. We only had it for a month or two, when areas of the touch screen stopped working. Obviously, that was a major problem, so we quickly ordered another one. So far, the second one is holding up.
You can personalize your child’s name on the laptop so when the first letter of their name is entered- it will appear and Scout will spell it. Their name is in the email messages as well.
The laptop/tablet has 10 different functions for learning. My 3 year-old Grandgirl liked the “guess the animal” game, popping the screen bubbles and sliding the function button around🥰
It’s one of the best learning toys I’ve purchased that is so reasonably priced.
AND it comes preloaded with batteries🥳
Bought this for our niece’s 2 year old birthday – she loved it and didn’t want to play with anything else once she turned it on. We got this because she likes to mimic her Mom and Dad who work on their laptops and now she can work along with them. She even tried to do a meet chat (not a function of this toy) but for the price it has everything you could want and more – it doubles as a laptop/tablet – sort of. The screen flips and you can do different games like bubble breaker on the table mode.
The LeapTop Touch goes to touch screen only when u flip it to tablet mode, not laptop mode. The five modes(ABC, 123, messages, games, music) differ depending on what mode(tablet, laptop) you are in which is cool. You can add your child’s name to the tablet by holding the letters P and M while turning on the laptop. When your child hits the first letter of their name, it spells it out for them which is great to learn how to spell their name. This is a great beginner learner toy for a toddler to teach letters, numbers, and their name.
