Apple has released macOS 12.5 build number 21G72 with enhancements, bug fixes and security updates. This could be the last iteration of macOS Monterey, before the grand release of macOS Ventura 16.0 which is expected this fall.

Updating to macOS Monterey 12.5 is available over-the-air as straightforward as usual:
- Open System Preferences.
- Click on Software Update.
- Update Now, Agree with Apple’s terms and be patient until the new version is requested, downloaded, verified and installed on your Mac.
macOS 12.5 Features
A single enhancement is mentioned in the release notes:
- TV app gets the functionality to restart a live sports game that’s already in-progress. Playback controls like pause, rewind and fast-forward are also available.
Other changes spotted in this release will be listed below. However, this looks like a minor update, as Apple hasn’t provided any release notes on the macOS Monterey 12.5 Developer page.

The update log also highlights an fixed issue:
- Safari bug that was causing a tab to revert back to a previous page has been fixed.
