Apple plans to release macOS Monterey 12.6 (21G115) alongside macOS Ventura 13 this fall. macOS 12.6 RC is now available for download. Check out what’s new, the bugs fixed, potential new issues and more!

macOS Monterey 12.6 security update
The Release Candidate version comes with build number 21G115 and is available to registered Apple Developers as well as Public Beta testers.

Macs require the macOS Monterey Beta Profile to be installed for macOS 12.6 RC to show up in System Preferences -> Software Update.

Tip: You can become a Public Beta tester by signing up on the Apple Beta Software Program website. Download the macOS Public Beta Access Utility file as shown here.

This update doesn’t include any spectacular new features. It focuses on “important security updates” instead and is recommended to all users that prefer to stay on macOS Monterey, instead of upgrading to macOS Ventura!

Apple will release this update alongside macOS Ventura 13. A probable rollout date is mid-October.
