macOS Sonoma 14.1 update

Apple has published the macOS 14.1 features and improvements! They’re highlighted in the release notes of the Release Candidate version. Check them all out here along with the available bug fixes and known issues!

Apple mentions two new features in the release notes:

We expect the public version of macOS 14.1 to be released next week, as early as Monday, October 24. Stay tuned for updates!

Apple mentions two fixes in the update log:

  • 1. System Services settings resetting to default has been fixed!
  • 2. Encrypted external drives not mounting has been addressed!
  • More macOS 14.1 Fixes

    Apple mentions other issues that have been addressed in the Developer release notes:

  • 3. Remote Widgets blank on different macOS and iOS releases has been fixed!
  • 4. Event tickets not showing up in Wallet when added from a website on Mac has been solved!

Only the RC version of this update is currently available, over-the-air in System Settings on any Mac compatible with Sonoma!

Important: Apple recommends installing beta software versions on a secondary device!

How To:

  • 1. In System Settings go for General -> Software Update -> Beta updates.
  • 2. Select macOS Sonoma Developer Beta or macOS Sonoma Public Beta
  • 3. macOS Sonoma 14.1 will show up! Click Upgrade Now.
  • 4. Agree with terms, enter password and follow the on screen prompts to grab this test version!
