Hi! Our 100 Piece Wood Blocks Set comes in a sturdy cardboard box with a handle. You should be able to store the blocks in the box (in your socks…LOL!) when you’re not building fabulous towers and buildings!
I’m very sorry but we do not have kid’s blocks that are made in the USA.
I presume you’re being sarcastic? We too trusted the Melissa & Doug name when buying this product here. We won’t anymore!

The box itself works really well, provided a toddler doesn’t stomp it or jump on it. It has plenty of space so you can just toss therm in there without having to arrange them. It has a handle and it pretty sturdy.

Depends on the child. I bought the blocks for my granddaughter because she is in the stacking stage. They are nicely made and seem to be well made. The colors are bright and bold just like you see in the pictures. The price is very economical.

Info About Melissa & Doug Wooden Building Blocks Set – 100 Blocks in 4 Colors and 9 Shapes (Reviews From Amazon)
We bought this for Christmas for our baby. He’s 10 months old now, and he just LOVES this set. His 10 year old brother and their dad play a game with it. They stack block towers and the baby squeals and crawls over to knock them down. Everyone has a blast. They’ve held up really well to being put in a drooly baby mouth. They’re not small enough to easily be swallowed, but I only let the baby play with the smaller pieces while being supervised. The semicircles and small triangle pieces are still a little small and I think a very determined baby could wedge them in their mouth enough to upset themselves. The rule of thumb for choking hazards (according to our son’s pediatrician) is that if it fits in a toilet paper roll, it’s a possibility they can choke on it. I took a photo to show that all the pieces can fit in a TP roll, but as long as you’re supervising there shouldn’t be any issue. We love this block set, and would definitely buy it for others with little ones.
We got these for our grandson for his 3rd birthday. He really enjoyed building with another set of smallish sized blocks that we have at our house so we got this set for him. It’s perfect and he really likes it. The blocks are painted in colorful primary colors. They are not huge chunky blocks. These are a bit small—which is nice because they work not only on the floor but are also useable on a table. They are a well made classic toy that will last for many years. I do recommend this set.
I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that my review helped you!
I got this set as a Christmas present for a close friends children. Those kids got a lot of presents for Christmas, but this set of blocks got the most play time, all the action figures and electronic toys sat idle collecting dust, while the kiddos played with these blocks. I found myself constantly getting dragged over to play with the blocks, which was heartwarming. This set is just right for young children, but even I, a child of the 80’s and a fan of Legos, found myself enjoying stacking the blocks, building shapes and structures. 10/10 would recommend for everyone.
I love these blocks! They are perfect. I was looking for blocks where all the pieces were painted and this was the only set I found. All other sets had some or all the blocks in wood color. I wanted blocks that could allow my child to sort by shape and by color and to build vividly colorful creations. The blocks are just the right size for little and big hands. The pieces are smaller than I had initially wanted, and I was worried by some of the reviews commenting on size. However I found these are just the right size. They are perfect for baby hands to hold and encourage dexterity and attention to detail for older children. I didn’t find any flaws in the pieces and all were smooth and nicely painted.
Our family loves these so much that we purchased a set for our now 6 year old when he was a toddler and then when our youngest started showing interest in blocks we bought another set to add to it, making a whole lot of these blocks for the entire family to play with, which they still do. These blocks hold up extremely well as there is not any noticeable difference in the blocks purchased 5 years ago and the ones purchased recently. The only information to be aware of is that there are a few blocks that are smaller than I feel comfortable giving to a child under 3, or to a child that mouths objects often and based on that I removed those blocks from play until my youngest gets older and would recommend that for others too. Even with those blocks removed, there are still a lot of blocks left to build with. I work in early intervention and blocks are such a way for a child to explore their creativity and fine motor skills that every parent should have a set. I went back and forth between this set and another one with larger blocks and these are better quality and appear to be built to withstand and lash a lifetime, so if you are between a couple options trying to decide which ones you want, go with these.
I was worried about bad reviews saying blocks were dangerous and broken, but my box arrived in perfect condition and every block seems fine. No chips no splinters no cracks. They are smooth to the touch. I’m sure defects happen. You just have to check over them like anything else and make sure they are in good condition before giving to your child like any thing else. My 21 month old daughter seems to enjoy stacking them and pushing them around. Good buy for a smaller set of blocks when we already are overrun with toys. If your box is in good shape, it works to store them. I think they are a wonderful toy.
We have one year old and a soon to be three year old grandsons … early on, we thought it was great to have all of the light flashing and singing toys, but have been reading that they aren’t all they are cracked up to be. Our almost 3 year old has a delayed speech issue and the more we research it, the more we realize that the best toys for kids are the old stand-bys, so we bought these blocks (along with several other toys from Melissa & Doug), and are pleased to report that imaginations and being used for playtime!
The blocks are great … we get down on the floor with them and build or drive cars on roads or line up different colors in a line, or the different shapes in a line, or make patterns … so many things to do with just one toy. Very happy with the product and the box is sturdy enough to house them well when we aren’t playing with them, so keeping things tidy is easy!
I had a set of these blocks as a child and loved them. My grandson was coming to visit and I figured he’d want something special here, even though his other toys were packed in their car. He LOVED these blocks and the reusable box fits everything neatly for the trip back and cleaning up at night. Years ago it came in a bulky potato sack, this box was perfect for a toddler and those road trips where space is limited.
Best Toy Ever and he wouldn’t stop building. Thanks!
These were for my 19 month old grandson. I am trying to get him a toy room put together and decided to add this to his new toy collection. It’s made very well, as most of Melissa and Doug toys are and was reasonably priced for real wood blocks. I like that they are matte finished as opposed to being shiny and the primary colors match his new table and chair set and toy organizer. He hasn’t really played with the blocks yet as we just got them today, but he did help me get them out of the package and he tossed them around for a minute or two. I really like these little blocks and I’m sure he’ll have these for a while as they seem very durable. Great purchase!
I remember when I was looking into buying blocks for my 2 year old daughter – these were in the running but I ended up reading a review on the M&D 60 piece standard unit blocks, that said more or less to skip getting these and go right for the more expensive set, that you wouldn’t be sorry. I followed their suggestion and was super pleased w my purchase. That block set has been used for 2 years and has a ton of life left in it. The weight is heavy and the blocks are smooth and very well made. They’re worth every penny and are fantastic for building even though my kid’s hands are small. Now, fast forward 2 years and I have a now 2 year old and a 4 year old. We were looking for another set of blocks for the kids to enjoy…I instantly knew to re-visit this set and am very pleased once again! These are much smaller than the 60 piece standard unit set, and are brightly colored. The weight to them is also much lighter, making it a little harder for them to be as sturdy when tall towers are being built. But, our family still thinks they are fantastic! I don’t think I would be as happy if I had ordered this set as a first and only set, but I think it’s a great 2nd set and I can’t see any child being disappointed w it! It provides hours of fun for my children and as w all M&D toys, the quality is fantastic and will be in great condition while we enjoy it!
In conclusion, The Melissa & Doug Wooden Building Blocks Set is a good choice for younger kids (and, to be honest, their parents) who want to build something together. I read online that Melissa & Doug received the National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, which makes me trust the quality of their toys. The wooden blocks last a long time and they’re easy for children to play with on their own.
