Impossible to open to insert batteries. Complete piece of junk. Avoid this and get one properly constructed

I slid credit card in groove at top of remote to open and replace battery. Found suggestion on a YouTube video.

My remote was unable to work upon receipt, very cheaply made and missing connections – the home button may not actually be connected or connected incorrectly.

This is Infrared remote, no voice function, only put into brand new alkaline battery will work well.
But Kindly please note: If your tv have been reseted to factory set before you use our remote, you should need one voice remote to finish the pairing step firstly, then our IR remote can work.

My dog has something against remote controls. She destroys every remote control we make the mistake of leaving out on the coffee table in her line of sight. After going through a few of the full priced Fire TV remotes for our Insignia TV, I decided to check out an off brand, cheaper option.

I have now owned 5 of these remote controls. (Yes, the dog destroyed the others.) They are all functionally great for the price. They are made of a cheaper plastic than the name brand remote, which makes it much easier to shred into tiny pieces for a canine mouth. But they work.

Voice recognition has not worked on any of the 5 I have owned, but I don’t really use it that much so it’s not a big deal for me.

For the price: 5 stars.

I bought back-ups this time to wait for the next remote death.

This works better than the remote that came with my TV originally LOL. When I looked to buy a new one because that one did not work well right away I saw that it was $60 just because of the voice recognition, this was not a feature that we really cared much about for the $60 price tag so we opted for this one instead. So far we’ve had it for several months and it has not given us a single problem, it was very easy to just put in the batteries and it worked right away.

No joke…lost the original remote the day we put the new TV on the wall! Luckily, this one works exactly the same. Some folks said it did not work with their TV so I’m not sure why. I put the product code of my TV in the Amazon search bar, this came up and waalaa…works great.

Bought an Insignia Fire TV from Best Buy on sale for about $60. Within several months, TV would inexplicably turn on at random times. Determined that original remote control (with voice) had malfunctioned and was causing it.

Purchased this replacement (without voice), and works as advertised. Controls TV. All buttons work as expected (power, volume, channel, navigation through Fire TV menus).

Be aware that this unit has no voice capability (and this is mentioned in the product description).

Our original voice remote broke. It is for the kitchen TV that we also use Alexa and cable remote to control. Other remotes were VERY expensive. I found this one, and was ok with the fact it did not have voice option.

It was surprisingly easy to set up, arrived before delivery date, and there is no difference when using it.

lost the remote that came with the TV.. after searching everywhere for 2 days, ordered the replacement. got is all setup and worked great. that afternoon found the original.

I gambled getting this remote because my new TV remote has a “voice” button on it and this one didn’t since it was for the previous year model and has a “search” button in its place. But the new remote made for my TV by the manufacturer was about 8 times more expensive! And I figured it won’t be the first time I just blew $10 on something. But turns out it works just fine!

I couldn’t wait for Best Buy to get me a warranty replacement remote control; still hadn’t shipped and it’s been 4 days. Next day delivery from Amazon, worked perfectly, good price.

Subtle differences: It has an HBO button instead of Disney +, but we never used it. (might function the same anyway). It has a divider now between the AAA batteries which I like. Microphone button now says “search”.
