No. The HP Envy 5012 printer needs the HP 65 or 65XL black and tricolor ink cartridges.

The XL lasts longer and you can print more before you need to replace the cartridge.

It says ink on the box. I use them on Avery 8366 file labels which are not slick. In the description area of the Amazon site for #64 cartridges it says, "Original HP ink cartridges: genuine ink for your HP printer. … ." So I’d say it’s ink, but it doesn’t say anything about it being "pigment ink," whatever that is.

If you ran out of Cyan first you evidently printed more pages that required blue color. Remember that green uses a large amount of blue along with some yellow and of course purple uses blue along with magenta. You evidently used a larger amount of cyan than the other colors. It works with my HP 7855 printer. I don’t about the 7800 printer.

I would look at the paperwork your printer came with. As long as the number for the cartridge is 64 it will fit. That was what I was worried about but they are the same size cartridge so it will fit in the holder.

USUALLY ONE BLACK TO TWO COLOR BUT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH COLOR YOU ARE USING ON PRINT OUT SHEETS……… PRICE ON THE BLACK AND COLOR CARTRIDGES ON AMAZON IS BASICALLY THE SAME AS HP BUT AMAZON SHIPS A LOT FASTER AND FREE SINCE I AM A PRIME MEMBER.. This does what it is suppose to do. My last printer stopped printing right after I used a generic replacement. The printer was about 3 years old, coincidence or not? The first time that I had ever used a generic replacement, printer dies. I would say NOT, and I will never use generics again, will go with original HP cartridges.

The Envy photo printer, when printing photos Great, but printing docs it chews through these cartridges quite quickly. Description, photograph, website presentation, and what arrived are the same-size, shape, and color matched expectations.

It arrived as expected, with the described accessories and unmolested.

They and the printer provide very good service, however, the ink cartridges are very expensive. More use could be squeezed out of them if they were a little more humanely priced. When the yearly cost of printer ink starts to rival that of a Buick, you know things are getting a little out of hand.

The XL cartridge makes for fewer cartridge changes which is convenient. The color is true and the image is sharp when using photo paper. I’m an artist and picture quality is important to me.

Quality goes in before the name goes on! XL means longer life plus it’s from Hewlett Packard, now that’s a quality product. There are many knock-offs on the market but HP goes beyond that with their reputation making high quality products that out live the competition.

MY PRINTER SAID THE HP TRI INK COLOR WAS A COUNTERFIT.. IT WAS THE 64XL AND LASTED LESS THAN 100 COPIES AND WAS DEPLETED IN ONE SITTING OF LESS THATN 100 PAGES COLORED. Cartridges came secured in packaging.
They do cost more, but for me, they do last longer. About 4mths. I do photo printing for my photo album, along with various coping tasks. Ink is of quality. All my print projects n photos come out great! This is my second purchase and should last till around december. That’s 4 cartridges in a year for me. I’m pleased n wilk buy again.
