How do you remove the plastic cover to get to the charging port?
Although we don’t test for or guarantee compatibility with other manufacturer’s screen protectors, the OtterBox Alpha Glass and the Amplify Screen Protector for iPhone 11 were each engineered to serve as excellent companions to our cases (including the Commuter Series) for this device.

The Commuter Series, on the other hand, is two components—an inner synthetic rubber slipcover that wraps around the device and an outer plastic shell that wraps around that piece.
The main differences that you would likely notice from a user standpoint are that the Commuter Series is more streamlined in overall design, and its smooth outer shell allows for easy access from pockets, purses, and such. The Defender Series will be the most robust case in our product line.
Yes! The OtterBox Commuter Series for iPhone 11 does have raised edges. If you set the Apple/Otter combo face down on a flat, horizontal area, the device touchscreen will not make contact with that surface.

It is pretty slick. The sides are not though. So I can grip it that way. But it is not like an older Otterbox I have on my SE which was soft rubber on the back. Hope that helps.

Yes, it comes in manufacture package. With complete instructions on how to put it on your phone.Great product.
It protects the phone good enough but the screen is exposed. I would always recommend a screen if protector unless you had a case that covers the front of the phone
It is flexible and soft but has a decent amount of rigidity. A little more stiff than my previous 6S otterbox case. You could bend it in half but it will resist a bit. To directly answer, I would consider it a harder rubber or silicon that is more structured.
It feels smooth but not as slick as the phone would be by itself. It is less likely to fall out of a pocket than without the case.
Info About OTTERBOX COMMUTER SERIES Case for iPhone 11 – BESPOKE WAY (BLAZER BLUE/STORMY SEAS BLUE) (Reviews From Amazon)
I have used this case for about 2 months now. Its awesome. It has kept my phone safe through numerous drops from waist height or even higher. I am a firefighter and use this on the job and at home with a 3 and 5 year old set of boys and it has kept my phone safe through it all. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a very safe case. I have dropped it thinking it was for sure going to be broken and its been fine.
I’m not sure what some of those other reviews are about referring to this as a case. I think those reviews are on the wrong product. This is not a case. It’s a screen protector as advertised.
The reason I refer to it as a system is because it comes with a nice installation tray that fits over the phone to allow easy and perfect alignment of the screen protector. Having everything come in one box with wet wipes, cleaning cloth, alignment tray, etc makes this a painless task. Also, nice that there are 3 screen protectors in the box because if you are clumsy like me then you will appreciate the extras. I dropped one of them on the floor during installation where it caught a lot of dust particles, so I used a second one.
If you are careful cleaning and installing the product, then you will have perfect protection. I can’t even notice the protector is on the phone. Perfectly clear and thin.
I have learned from experience with past installations that it is best to VERY SLOWLY pull the protective backing off of the screen protector while applying it starting at the top of the phone. Then slowly pulling down (off) the protective backing while pressing down to install the protective glass. This is to greatly reduce the likelihood of attracting and trapping dust particles under the protector from the surrounding air. Otherwise if you pull off the protective backing too quickly, it creates more static electricity which attracts dust particles before you get it on the phone.
The camera protection for the back fits perfectly and really easy to install. Afterwards, I was still able to fit my phone case around the phone and it does fit close and tight so no problems with that. I took photos of a room before and after installing the camera protection and could not notice any degradation of image quality. A nice design.
Not surprised with the high reviews. I suspect that any complaints are due to people being in a rush and not being careful to clean the phone surface completely.
I have had this case for a previous phone for 4 years. I am, arguably, one of the clumsiest women in the world. I have NEVER had a crack in my phone, despite dropping it multiple times a day. I try to take care of my phone and pieces have fallen off of the case in the past due to said falls, but it is so worth the money. This is a repeat buy for me. I got a new phone and knew what case I wanted due to past experience.
It protects the entrance points to the phone really well. The “door” to the charging port is very stiff initially, but it does loosen up after years of use.
Best case out there.
I drop my phone just about every five seconds, and this case has protected me from everything, even my cat! I bought a privacy screen protector and within three months of using it, there have been minor scratches, so if you’re going to buy the case and you’re always dropping your phone, get a screen protector as well; there is literally only so much a case can do for you. In terms of getting a lens protector for the camera, I wouldn’t suggest it because of the layering that the case has unless you see your camera cracking by something intentionally heading straight towards your camera. The case itself is a little chunky, but I prefer chunky and trading in my phone in perfect condition than thin and risking the condition of the phone. The buttons are fine to push on the side, and in terms of water getting in on the surface, it just stays on the sides until you decide to wipe it off. Eventually, very LITTLE water does seep in (it just looks like sweat not actual water water) but that only accumulates like every four months maybe if you leave it around water or something.
Been a customer for 6 years and it has never failed me. Without a doubt I would say they’re the best cases on the market.
If you know, you know
Put it on for the wife, she saw I was chatting it up with some other honey and she threw the phone at me like it was an MLB audition. I swear I heard the sound barrier crack as it whizzed past my head and into the wall. You think, no big deal right.. wrong, its a brick wall! After getting the tow cable hooked up to the 4×4 I was able to get it out with minor structural damage to the wall, case and phone are like new.
Fits my husbands phone well! No complaints! Great buy! Sturdy, as we’ve used same series in the past, just different iPhone model. Since it was such a great lasting case( old one lasted from 2015-2019, and still going technically) it was a no brainer with a perfect case for the iPhone 11.
As is usually the case (see what I did there?) with Otterbox, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed having this case on my iPhone 11. As much as I like the design of the phone itself, it is quite slippery to hold without a case; therefore, I needed something sturdy and easy to grip (that’s what she said). I like having the raised edges that further protect my phone from drops or scratches, especially around the back camera. I love the dust cover over the charging port. The buttons still press well, and I’ve had no issues charging it on a wireless charging pad either.
I love this case. So much nicer than the other cases I’ve been using, including the Apple cases. It’s solid, strong, and feels good in my hand. It adds some weight and heft to the phone, but I feel better protected. I’m not rough on phones, but anyone can drop the phone. It slides into the side pocket of my purse, is easy to grip and hold and just all around good. Works fine with wireless charging. I have nothing bad to say about it. I love it so much, I plan to get another one in another color and one for my son’s iPhone 11 as well.
I will say it was difficult to get on the phone, but now that it’s on, it’s on tight and not coming off. I’m very happy with it.
I like it. Slimmer than the defender. Slides in your pocket easily.
