Yes! The Commuter Series for iPhone 8 & iPhone 7 is compatible with Qi wireless technology. For best results, we suggest using a charging accessory recommended by Apple.
Yes you can. Pop socket works well with the case
Technically, no. But if need you could peel off the case, throw a card or two in case and slap phone back on!
Yes. No problems at all with charger 4344586228 here. Far far easier than the cord.

There are two pieces to this case. The rubber piece goes on the phone first and plastic second. The sides of the case for volume and on/off buttons for iPhone are about 60% rubber and 40% plastic
Mine had the hole. Which did not bother me if it was where the Apple logo is. But the hole is above the Apple logo. I have the 2nd generation 2020 SE. If you go on the Otterbox website, there is no hole in the picture. This makes me think that the case I received is not the newest case and is not the correct case … Mine had the hole. This isn’t a charging case. You still have to plug your phone in to charge, just like if you didn’t have a case.
No. I bought this for my iPhone 8 and it fits perfectly.
How can you ? The case doesn’t even come close to the home button on the SE…Maybe it’s your screen protector (if you put one on ) covering the home button a little .

So it is super irritating to put on, but it’s suppose to be since keeping it tight in the case is what protects it. It DOES FIT THE iPHONE 7. I see a lot of reviews for the iPhone 8 which is cool, but I want to let my iPhone 7 peeps know that this will work for you.
As stated, it does not come with a screen protector of any sort because the edges of the cased are raised and padded with rubber (?) to help absorb shock and keep the phone from shattering. Get a separate screen protector to keep scratches away. The case is slim, which is nice since I hate bulky cases. I can easily fit this halfway into my pockets (only half way because that’s all the pocket women-marketed jeans have ugh). It also fits easily into my phone-holder armband that I use when I work out which is SUPER nice.
The charge port / headphone port is covered by a movable rubber piece, the speakers are not covered at all. Camera hole is wide and does not disrupt picture taking in the least. The little side switch that allows you to turn sound on/off is not covered as well.
If I remember I’ll try and update this review after it’s been a month or two. Right now I would definitely recommend.
Great case. I did apply a separate screen protector too. Sleek and good fit. Quality product. I have dropped my iPhone 8 (from ~3 feet) on a hard surface and it was fine. It’s not as bulky as the OtterBox Defender that I have used on previous phones and you definitely get better screen clarity if you apply a screen protector directly versus the integrated one on the Defender. The trade off is that it probably will not provide the same level of protection when dropped on its face on a non-flat surface (a rock, etc), because the Defender has more pronounced raised edges on the front than this model.
I’ve had an OtterBox on my phone ever since I started buying smart phones. I used to use the Defender cases but wanted something smaller. It seems other people felt the same way because OtterBox came out with the Commuter series. It offers huge protection in a smaller package. Compared to other cases on the market in the same size, the Commuter just appears to be much better built. I paired it with the OtterBox screen protector and I couldn’t be happier. I purchased this about a week after I bought the phone (went on a trip the day I bought the phone so I didn’t have time to go get a case. Bad move – dropped the phone and dented the corner in that week). Every phone I buy will have an OtterBox case of some sort.
Use this for my iPhone 8 and it’s very protective. Wireless charging still works, despite it being a pretty thick case.
I love these cases. I have had one for every generation of iPhone I have owned and they saved my screen more times than I can count. One time when I was in Poland I accidentally dropped my iphone 4s off of a foot bridge. A wasp landed on my hand and when I went to shake it off, the phone slipped and fell nearly 15ft to solid cement. I thought surely my phone would be destroyed, my pictures lost and the rest of my 3 months in Europe would be spent without a phone. My phone survived without a scratch and was in perfect working order. 3 years later I was riding my moped down South Congress in Austin and my iPhone 6s slipped out of my pocket at 50mph. I watched it slide for nearly 25 yards before coming to a stop against a curb. Again, survived without any major scratches to the case and the phone was perfect. I only seem to get about 1 year of use per case but I drop my phone everyday it seems so I would say es pretty good.
I upgraded to a new iPhone over the weekend and immediately ordered this case. I used an Otterbox Commuter Series case on my last iPhone and it saved it hundreds of drops. The previous case cracked and chipped on a couple of corners, but my iPhone 6S was in perfect condition when I removed the case to trade in. That made the case for my new iPhone 8 an obvious choice. The new case took a little effort to install (as it should being a snug fit), but fits perfectly. I haven’t dropped my iPhone yet (*knock on wood*), but am confident Otterbox will protect it when I inevitably do. [Popsocket was added separately – it’s not included with Otterbox.]
Use your warranty!! I ordered this case 8 months ago and the hard case cracked on the right bottom corner. Go and make a warranty replacement on their official website (within one year of purchase). You’ll definitely get your money’s worth after getting an OtterBox warranty replacement. Now I have two OtterBox cases! One cracked/superglued, and the other is new and ready to go when I feel like it.
They say the warranty replacement costs “6.99$” for shipping and everything— but just be aware that it may cost a little more than what they stated. I paid 20$ OtterBox (used on Amazon) and the 7.60$ Warranty replacement’s shipping charge on their website. Two cases!!! Score!!!! 😉
Excellent case for the iPhone 8. Phone fits perfectly in the case with a minimal amount of fidgeting to get the plastic outer shell in fully seated. The case provides easy access to all the buttons, ports, and switches and does not interfere with the audio properties of the phone. The case adds only a minimal amount of extra size and weight to the phone, it has a good hand-feel, provides a good grip, and still allows the phone to easily slide in/out of your pocket. The covered access port for the Lightening Connector accepts the Apple connector without any interference and there is some clearance such that other after-market cables should fit (check before you buy). The case itself does not provide screen protector so you may want to install one yourself just to protect the screen from any scratches.
Overall, the case appears to provide ample protection for the phone (I’ll leave the serious drop-testing to the YouTubers).
I had a similar Otterbox case for my first Iphone which was the only case I ever bought for it- dropped many times of course even though I am fairly careful. Never had any visible or other damage to my phone.
When I upgraded to my new phone, I decided to go with this which appears almost identical to my old case. Simple and plain design-nothing really fancy, which is exactly what I like. I had though about getting one with a little kickstand or spot to hold cards, but decided to go with this. I’m happy with my decision. I’ve probably dropped this at least 10 times, some on hard concrete and there is no damage to my phone. I also have a nice tempered glass screen protector as well.
I recommend 100%. This case on amazon, if I remember correctly, is a lot less expensive than buying at like Verizon or other service provider. Reasonable price to protect your expensive phone. If you buy this, I think your phone should be safe and it’s unlikely that you will need to spend money on another case.
I love this case cover. I have only owned OtterBox cases. I always used the Defender cases but got tired of always carrying a big bulky phone everywhere. Then I found the OtterBox Commuter series. I am so glad that I purchased this. It offers great protection in a smaller package. Very happy with my purchase. Please let me know if my amazon review was helpful.
