As long as you have a Roku TV no pairing is necessary. I literally put in batteries and hit power and TV came on. My Netflix & Hulu buttons worked automatically. Same with my daughters Roku.

In conclusion, I’m more interested in purchasing this than I was the $10 remote, but I could use a handheld remote that I can use to play games on my phone or my computer.
