Payment and Shipping bug iOS 16.1.1

Apple Music opens up every time you tap Payment & Shipping in Apple ID settings? Tapping Back after performing an edit freezes the app? Else, Apple Music is displayed when you exit instead of the Settings app? Is this a new iOS 16.1.1 bug?

Apple ID Payment & Shipping Bug?

This issue has been reported by Stel (iPhone 14 Pro):

“When I go to Payment & Shipping in Settings, the Apple Music app automatically opens up. If I delete the Apple Music app, and try to go to Payment & Shipping, it asks me to install the Music app. This started immediately after upgrading to iOS 16.1.1.”

We could replicate this issue! Are you experiencing the same? It’s not clear yet if this is intended behavior or not, but it’s definitely a change from the previous versions.

How To Fix Payment & Shipping Issue

Until Apple fixes this unexpected behavior in an upcoming software update you can apply the following workaround if you want to edit the payment methods on your iPhone:

• Open Settings and tap on your Apple ID.
• Tap Media & Purchases instead of Payment & Shipping.
• Go for View Account and select Manage Payments.
• Edit Payment Methods.
