God damn right it will
Yes, but you will need to purchase the Plantronics APU – 75 hook switch adapter and you’ll need to install the Plantronics Hub software. With this setup, I can use it for any PC software and VOIP calls.
Bogus. The over-ear sucks. That sharp plastic digs into your ear. They need to redesign the plastic piece and make it round, rather than a sharp piece of plastic with a piece of foam over it (that you will lose). I would prefer to be able to style my hair, but I have resorted to the headband.
We have not had any problems with static from the wireless network or anything else. We have had two of them going at the same time for several months now. That is definaltey not a complaint I have.
Yes, when you press the button on your ear/head piece to answer the phone, it does lift the handset on the desk phone until you end the call, then it hangs up the handset.
Yes, you would just have to flip the mouthpiece from back to front after you put the earpiece in your other ear.
Our receptionist uses this and we have maybe 6 or 8 incoming lines…..
Just order one, comes with both still if anyone is looking.

Hi, even though this is a third-party seller, the pictures shown are how the actual devices look.
Doesn’t work with cordless phones
Can’t help with #1 but #2. I do not use a lifter and it works fine with our ShoreTel system.

Hi Jaclyn, I’m not sure which Polycom IP HD voice phone you have, but if it’s a SoundPoint IP series (301, 320/330, 321/331, 335, 430, 450, 501, 550, 560, 601, 650, and 670), or VVX series (1500, 500, 600, 300/310, 400/410). the CS540 looks like it is compatible, but you will need the Plantronics APP-51 cable.

You might also need an EHS adapter, if you want to answer from the headset itself. You can find a compatible one (or see if it’s needed) through Polycom, or Plantronics.
Also, if you have a Sound Point IP 320/330 or 321/331, you might also need an RJ-9 (direct connect) to 2.5mm adapter.

Info About Plantronics – CS540 Wireless DECT Headset with Lifter (Poly) – Single Ear (Mono) Convertible (3 wearing styles) – Connects to Desk Phone – Noise Canceling Microphone (Reviews From Amazon)
I ordered this for work. I work in a pharmacy and the phones are constantly ringing. My job involves a lot of multitasking, which means that while I am ringing up customers in-store and in the drive-thru, printing labels, pulling drugs, counting drugs, restocking drugs, typing scripts, processing faxes and e-scripts, and delegating my team, I’m also answering phones. Picking up the phone and holding it against my ear often meant I couldn’t multitask. To make matters worse, I would try to hold the phone with my shoulder so I could keep multitasking, which, after 4+ years has led to me developing some serious shoulder and neck issues. My doctor recommended that I look into headsets, so I did. The struggle was finding one that wasn’t too clunky but was also reliable and my customers would always be able to hear me. This product was one of the expensive ones I researched, but the reviews helped me make my decision. I’m glad I did because it has helped so much. It was not that easy to install. I have to be honest, the adapter plug being in two pieces made things difficult. The headset itself took about 1-2 hours to fully charge, not 20 minutes like the instructions claimed. But after that, it was a breeze to use. I’ve had to get used to using it, but now that I have, I’ve experienced much less tension in my shoulders and I’m able to multitask much better while getting through those dozens of phone calls per hour. I highly recommend this product.
I bought this unit in 2013, and it is still going strong! I can’t stand to work a single day in the pharmacy without this headset. It is truly a life changing product if you work retail pharmacy. The phone constantly rings and you can’t and shouldn’t be tether to the corded phone all day. Aside from saving your neck from all the strain, you’ll have unbelievable freedom of movement while you’re stuck on hold with a doctor office or talking to a patient.
The range on this headset is very far. For example, I can walk from the pharmacy and into the aisles while still maintaining connection. Productivity increases dramatically if you use a headset. I can check scripts, reconstitute meds, etc, while I’m on hold with doctors or insurance. This works so well that I convinced several of my pharmacist partners to jump on board and get this. Now, most of us use these headset everyday. The battery won’t last you the whole work day (10-12 hrs) but a quick 15-20 min charge in the middle of the day during a small break/lunch will charge it up well. For anyone working that involves taking relentless amount of phone calls and doesn’t want to be tied up, get this!
I especially highly recommend this headset for any pharmacist working in retail. If you find this review helpful, please click ‘helpful’ button at the end of this product review. Thanks!
The description here says CS540, yet two vendors have now sent me the CS540A which is the European version. The raw packaging also says CS540 but not the product inside. Plantronics said it will work in the US but will likely interfere with other signals. I still gave it 5 stars because it works terrifically so far and I’m sure the correct model if I can find it, will be perfect. I’ve never found a headset that is so good at muting the sound around you from the caller on the other end. It’s comfortable and lightweight. Much better than prior models that included confusing adjustment dials with unknown results as to how it was affecting your audio on the other end. Perhaps the issues the one stars are having is related to having the European version?
So I just got this but I can already tell it’s going to be a game changer. I can now freely move about gathering parts while speaking with my customers. As far as durability and battery life, only time will tell, I will update later on. It is very lightweight. Sounds good. Took literally 10 mins to hook up and start using…super simple just take your time and watch what you plug where. Range seems good too but I haven’t tried to use it all the way up front yet and hold a conversation. Exactly what I was looking for. Just had to confirm with Plantronics on what models were compatible w my company’s phone system. Delivery was very quick, ordered Monday afternoon…delivered Thursday morning.
Edit 06-21-22—–Cannot find a battery for this unit. The connector for every single so-called compatible battery has a 2 pin female connector but the headset is a 3 pin male connector.
I’ve looked up the EXACT PART NUMBER ON THE ACTUAL BATTERY AND ALL THAT DISPLAYS IN SEARCH RESULTS ARE “COMPATIBLE” batteries, ALL OF WHICH ARE 2 PIN FEMALE CONNECTORS.
If you buy this model, be prepared to buy an entire new headset when it comes time to replace the battery.
I’ve been using an old CS-55 unit that finally just gave out. It lasted 10 years. This new one is very comfortable (I use the over-the-band) and lasts HOURS! It recharges quickly and is lighter than my old CS-55.
During tax season I use this thing for 8 to 10 hours a day. I may purchase a 2nd to use in case I have a heavy phone day and don’t have any time to wait for a recharge on one unit.
I purchased this headset for me to use at work. Part of my job is to do technical webinars, demonstrations, and technical support. I am on the phone all day, every day and needed an awesome headset that had good audio for both microphone and speaker along with long battery life. This headset is all of those things. I have never had the battery go out on me yet. It also charges very quickly.
I also got this headset because it the headband is optional. I wear it just over my ear without the headband (the headbands start to hurt the top of my head). It comes with several options regarding earbuds and over-ear connections. I found a combination that works for me. It fits snugly, does not move, and can be adjusted to be closer or further away from your face.
The range has been amazing too. Some of my phone calls can become quite lengthy and it is nice to be able to walk around my office, fill my coffee etc. without feeling chained to your desk.
I have used this for a couple of weeks now and have never once had a complaint from the the person on the other end about the sound.
This is a great headset. I have no complaints about it. It was easy to setup and works great.
We use these wireless headsets with our Cisco VOIP phones in the office. They are super easy to connect if you follow the easy to read instructions. There are different size ear pieces to fit everyone and they also offer an around the head option for those that aren’t comfortable with just wearing it on the ear. It can change to go on either your right or left ear as well. It’s very lightweight and the base is so small that it takes up no room on your desk.
The sound controls are on the bottom of the base. Some of my colleagues use a handset lifter (also by Plantronics) as well as it makes it much more clear when your headset is in use. I have had my headset for almost three years now and have had zero issues. I recommend it to everyone in the office that asks.
I literally could not function without this device and the Plantronics HL10
The company I work for is a busy retailer/warehouse and I am not always able to be at my desk. There are offices between my counter and the warehouse- this wireless phone still maintains signal through that – the shelves of goods – and starts to lose signal once I am outside 200 ft away on the other side of a cement wall. That’s pretty good!
My biggest “issue” is my output quality. More often than not, people on the other end state they can not hear me- I thought maybe I was not speaking loud enough- BUT i feel like I’m almost yelling for people to hear me. Maybe an update to the noise cancellation would help? Software is not my forte’. This is the only drawback I have experienced with the device.
We are looking to add headsets for our non-profit ministry’s call center and needed something affordable that will work with a number of different users. This set was super easy to set up and we found lots of reviews and info on YouTube beforehand to answer any questions or concerns we may have had. It works great with our Mitel 8528.
The only thing I wish this had was an indicator light to let others in the office know when we are on the phone because we often work collaboratively. I knew going in this set did not have that feature but realized after the fact that it would be a good feature to have in our setting.
Would I order the set again or recommend it to others? Absolutely!
This device and accompanying phone-lifter are awesome! I have to say, the instructions could have been a bit more thorough but after about 10-15 minutes, the device is working flawlessly. I’m quite impressed with the phone-lifter as I had no idea what to expect re this. I’m using a Cisco model of phone and it easily and reliably lifts the earpiece instantly each time I lift the headset up and put it on my ear. I guess this would also be the case if I kept the headset on my ear between calls and simply clicked the "answer" button. The device is a bit on the high end price wise compared to some of the other companies’ products I saw on Amazon but I’ve used Plantronics with good results for many, many years so decided to give this a try. So far, I’m very impressed!
