Yes they can be used on bicycles what you have to sure is that you have the base ball is 1" also the item you are going to use must have the adapter with a 1" ball. If you have other size balls then do not use this mount search for the proper size.

RAM Mounts are awesome! I use all of their products to mount my gear on all my vehicles, motorcycles, Kayaks and bicycles. With an unlimited selection of accessories with from their suction cup bases, arms, rod holder, etc. Many great uses for these products. In my picture on this review, I’m using a magnetic mount from WizGear that I glued to two ball mounts after removing the screw with the hex key and yes the depth can be raised or lowered for specific cameras, GPS and other electronic devices. I also used a third ball mount with Screw attached and a 1/2 bolt to attach it to a 30lb magnet all connect with an ARKON APT325MM Triple 25mm Ball Adapter and RAM Socket Arms that I use to hold my Smartphones on metal surfaces. The grip is great and holds extremely well. I’d buy again and again!

Beside this composite arm, I also purchased the RAM Track Ball with T-Bolt Attachment and the Circular Aluminum Drill Base Adapter with 1″ Rubberized Ball from Amazon.
I chose this length arm because I like to set my cooler in the front of my kayak and needed to extend the Garmin so I could see and access it over the cooler.
This setup worked out great for me.
This size of Ram mounting gear is lightweight and my Garmin comes in at about 8 oz. So everything is tight and secure. I don’t recommend using this for heavy items. My whole setup with the Ram pieces and the Garmin is probably less than 1 lbs.
It’s attached to a dashboard system that unscrews and lifts right out of the kayak so I can leave everything attached as one piece. Makes it really easy to setup my kayak for a day on the water and its a fast tear down when I’m ready to go load up my gear and go home.

I found Ram mounts a few years ago and love them. Just purchased a couple more pieces, so my review is copy and pasted from my updated review from a previous purchase.

RAM mounts are still the best mount I’ve found. Not going to find anything better. Very simple design that’s brilliantly executed. I’ve never been satisfied with other options such as suction cups or double sided tape mounts. They’ll all fail at some point. Then a few years ago I discovered Ram mounts. Made my first purchase and I couldn’t have been happier. I’ve now purchased multiples of the 1" ball for camera mounting over the years for various applications. My most current usage was to mount a 6" cell phone on the dash of a 2012 Camry for Pandora/Google Maps. I wanted something secure and adjustable, yet easy to remove. Ram fits the bill. For this setup, I used the following products (I’ll supply links at the end):

Luckily enough, my Camry has a large section of trim around the clock on the dash. The whole thing comes out very easily. I removed the trim piece and disconnected the clock from it. Marked out my holes for the 2" x 1.7" Ram mounting plate. I mounted the base plate with black bolts to blend in with everything. I also sandwiched a small piece of black rubber shelf liner to eliminate any possible squeaking. Whilst the dash is fairly flat where I mounted it there is a very slight curve. The 1" ball mount for cameras get attached to the upper part of the Vastar Universal Smartphone Tripod Adapter, the short composite Ram arm connects it all together. I also drilled another hole in the clock trim piece to run a USB cable in-dash behind the radio. I used the 3/4" phone/fax grommet to finish it off and give a professional look.

I couldn’t be more happy with how this turned out. It’s very easy to use and it’s something that can be quickly removed if I don’t want to leave it in the car. The only thing that stays behind is the mounting plate that’s bolted to the dash and the USB cable. I think car’s should come with something similar to this. It’s not far from eye level yet doesn’t block my view.

This joint makes it easy to connect your phone holder to a handlebar mount, stem mount, or other 1″ ball mount point.

I used this joint to connect a RAM Quick-Grip XL to a stem mount on a 2020 Kawasaki ZX6R. The short arm is the perfect length for offsetting the phone holder while staying close to the triple tree.

These joints are very well molded and feel very strong. The finish is clean and mold lines are minimal. The captive bolt design works well and will not break under heavy tightening. The thumbscrew is easy to grip and allows for plenty of torque.

So far this mount has been in service for 800 miles and it has not had any problems. It has not come loose and holds my phone in the exact same place as where I first set it.

I bought this to attach my droid dna to the handlebars on my motorcycle. I needed 3 parts to make the mount work: u-bolt, double socket arm and x-grip.

First, the u-bolt mounting base clamps to the handlebars. I put some electrical tape over the bars to keep them from getting scratched up and also create a higher friction surface to keep the clamp from spinning on the bars. It came with a nice adapter to fit either 1" or 7/8" bars. Next you need a double socket arm which has a socket joint on each end to grab onto the ball on the u-bolt and the ball on the phone grip. Then you attach the x-grip to the other end of the double socket arm and you are good to go.

The 2 ball and socket joints give it really good articulation so it can be adjusted in any direction and the knob allows you to easily tighten it down snugly without tools. I was a little worried about my phone flying off the mount at high speeds but it proved to be very stable. However, for a little piece of mind, I created a small tether out of some string to attach the phone to the mount in the event that it came loose while under way. Fortunately, this was just me being overly cautious because I never saw it move at all during any of my rides.

Thus is the composite material mount piece, which is cheaper in price. I believe that they also make an aluminum one that costs a little more.

It is just the right height for what I need. I already have one almost twice as long.

It works great and grips tightly. We will have to see how the composite material is affected by the sun/weather exposure over time but I do not see why it would not function for years to come. If anything, I might expect the surface to become less smooth/polished over time if given much exposure.

Given the price and functionality, it’s a win.

I finally jumped on the Ram train. I’ve know that I wanted to go this route I just didn’t know where I wanted to put my first mount in my ‘19 Tacoma or which phone mount to go with. So I went with the diamond plate & short arm since it’s small and compact.
Wasn’t hard to pop of the dash bezel, mark & drill 2 holes, and bolt on the mounting plate.
Attaching the socket arm is as easy as you could imagine. Hardest part was finding the perfect spot for phone.
Total time from opening package to mounting phone ~20 minutes.
Now the question is, where to put the next one for a gps/tablet?

Ram mounts are the finest mobile device mounts I’ve ever used. This connector piece is one of several I needed to mount an iPad mini on a bike trainer – I used it with the claw (RAP-B-400U), iPad mini 4 cradle (RAM-HOL-AP20U), and an additional ball connector to attach the cradle (RAP-B-202U). I was able to put together exactly the configuration I needed — although it did require going to the manufacturers website (rammount.com) to understand all the available pieces parts, as well as which ball connector to get. But that’s on Amazon.
Once mounted, my device is locked in solidly – and there is simply no motion or vibration. Could not have asked for a better product.

I used these RAM Mount components to construct a mobile phone mount on my driver’s side windshield pillar. They grip very solidly, i.e., zero slippage. I replaced the existing screw holding the handle with a RAM Mount base mount using a separate longer and slightly undersized bolt, then used two of these and a RAM Mount dual-ball component to provide the adjustability and positioning that I desired. The end result was perfect — much nicer than any of the other phone mounting options I’ve tried (magnetic, windshield suction cup, weighted dash base, A/C vent mounts, etc.). The cost of the RAM Mounts is slightly more than a standard phone mount, but it was worth it to get something that actually worked nicely instead of the compromises all the others required.

I’ve mounted this to my motorcycle handlebar, and along with the short double socket arm and X-grip pieces, it securely holds my phone while I ride. I’ve tried it on bumpy roads, fast roads, and fast, bumpy roads, and it’s always stayed put. (I did loop a tether around it and onto my phone case juuuuust in case, but it has never even wiggled.) I superglued the rubber tips onto the X-grip as recommended in the instructions if going to use on rough terrain.
