Furthermore, when I returned it, the vendor claimed they didn’t get it via the UPS store months later after I had discarded my receipt! Should be able to buy power cord for t.v. also for the fire stick either for usb to fire stick or electrical power to firestick

The back slides down. I use a knife to get it started by inserting it carefully in the crack near the top. Other remotes may not have this crack, but still slide down to open the battery compartment.

You must look for the model number on the bottom. If your Fire TV is a cube, the only way to physically determine if it is a 1st or 2nd generation model is to find the model number printed on the rubber bottom of the device. If it says “Model No. A78V3N” then it is a 2nd-gen Fire TV Cube.

My does work with the power button. I have not used the volume button as we use a roku on this TV. However the power button works fine

Yes you can. The only issue Is the voice control will only work on the first remote you paired when you try to control other components like the TV HDMI input.
The voice control on both work for search on the fire stick

You’re not buying the correct one. Yes, the remote is atrociously too high in cost, but it will be cheaper than purchasing both a firestick and the remote.

Most folks purchasing this, are doing so because they are replacing another one. So if your stick was previously paired, simply holding home button won’t work. You need to reset the stick. First you need to remove stick from tv and power from stick. Then reattach power and stick back in TV. Then follow directions by pressing home button until the light flashes and it has time to pair. Once that’s done, just wait a moment and tv will tell you it’s paired and works fine. Hope that helps folks. Cheers.

I ordered this to replace my remote that I thought was malfunctioning. However, being the dummy that I can sometimes be, I ordered it before troubleshooting the problem. It was at that point I followed directions (duh?!) and unplugged my TV for 10 minutes and guess what happened….after being unplugged, the TV reset itself and the remote was fine. So, with pure Amazon style, they allowed me to return it for a full refund since it wasn’t the fire stick remote that was causing the problem. Love dealing with Amazon.

Recently I purchased a new Fire Stick and it came with 1 remote. I had two or three older remotes that had the same settings on the remotes, but they would not pair to this newest generation Fire Stick. I contacted Amazon and made arrangements to send my economy fire stick and ordered a new one that was supposed to work with my latest generation Fire Stick. Pairing was simple and now both my wife and I can both have our own remotes and don’t needed to run back and forth.

My only complaint is not with the remote, but with Amazon itself who seem to have a new policy and charge you a fee when you return something, $7+ when you drop off and $15+ to have it picked up. This policy is going to limit my purchases in the future. Sorry to see this development. I hope this paragraph makes it thru the censors.

My first two remotes for fire stick didn’t have volume and mute and power and so keeping track of two remotes in my bed area was a pain. Now I have one remote to search my covers for daily so life of easy LOL. **At firsti thought the volume wouldn’t work with my older tv, but minutes after the remote was set up, the prompt to make the volume happen happened. **

(I really hate the new way we have to click so many buttons to get to our movie list and it’s located in a weird place, but that’s not the remote’s fault)

This remote was a lifesaver! I moved to a new house and lost my remote. I thought my firestick was toast, I downloaded different apps but they didn’t work because the internet was different. I found this on amazon and followed the directions (I didn’t know tapping the home button would sync the remote with the firestick closest). I programmmed the TV and everything works perfect!

Sharp plastic edges (flash from plastic molding) need to be sanded down. Could cause injury if not careful.
The non working unit this replaced was much smoother, and over all attention to detail much better. If I could put the new guts in the old case, I would. But, design changes will not allow that. Definitely a fall off in attention to detail in this replacement unit.

I about returned this remote until a helpful review helped me out. I didn’t look at the instructions because I didn’t think I’d have to do anything but put in batteries. HOWEVER even with the manual, I could not get it to pair. So I used my Amazon firestick app as a remote to go to settings and remotes. This made pairing happen in seconds! Hope this helps!

Never thought about using this outside of my home but my husband and I got two specifically for when we travel.
Really nice and easy to set up, super user friendly and easy to understand all the functions and love the Alexa talk feature, my favorite part about it all.
