Absolutely these will hold CDs in jewel cases. I know this to be a fact because I have six of these exact same (single) boxes bought in 2019 from Amazon and each holds 30-33 single CD jewel cases, depending on the overall thickness of the CD case. These are fairly sturdy, but remember, they fold up and snap at the corners and are not intended for heavy weight to be stacked on top of them, nor to withstand being shoved, crammed in closets on their sides, nor kicked. And don’t stand on them, either. I’ve stacked mine two and three high, and everything seems okay, but common sense would be to exercise caution if stacking them much higher.

I see people on here sayng they have stacked them 2 high and not had a problem with the boxes so why would the seller answering this question directly (your question) posted on here. So I don’t know what to think about this…really don’t like this grey area when trying to figure out what to or not to get. HATE IT

no sleeves comes with box. just buy double sided cd sleeves. you can put 4oo-500 sleeves per box. i love these boxes they are very sturdy and well made. i own 6 of them.

This double wide storage box holds 60 CDs in full jewel cases, 120 CDs in slim cases, and 330 CDs in CD sleeves

Most of my dvd cases measure 5 1/4 wide, 7 1/2 long and I’m able to store 27-28 dvd’s depending on if you keep the protective cardboard covers on the plastic dvd case. As Sovrath mentioned, "spine facing up, in a row". They’re wonderful!

Individual CD’s are stored vertically (so you can read the information ends). Cases are stored horizontally (as in the pic) and can be stacked.

Hi Katie. This storage case will fit blue ray movies but is made specially for dvd movies with there cases which of course are a bit wider in thickness.

them but if you have doubts do what I did in the beginning and
order only a couple and see if they fit you needs.

The box is actually 16-1/4"L x 8"W x 5-7/8"H.

By "DVD Movie size," I assume you mean disc size. My jewel cases fit inside nicely. Discs alone would be a lot looser inside.

The unfortunate thing is that the cases are designed to hold ~5" x ~5" CD/DVD holders, but only the paper envelopes are that size, the plastic cases are closer to 5" x 5.5" – the result is the top doesn’t fit… A single cases will hold 32 CD/DVD plastic cases, or 67 slim line cases; this is just over the amount claimed. It’s made out of heavy stock cardboard that simply snaps together. Once snapped it stays snapped. I have no problems with this product. It does what it claims…

There are no partitions inside of these boxes.

This is just what we needed. We had stacks of DVD discs slowing growing all over. Purchased a two-pack of these double wide boxes, plus a mega pack of paper cd sleeves and have now organized our collection of discs. Have over 500 discs stored between the two boxes.
Made our own tab dividers as the ones online look too tall for these boxes. Just cut an 8.5×11 cardboard stock into quarters and add a label. Perfect fit.

These boxes were easy to snap together and they look great. They appear to be built well and fit the DVD’s perfectly. BUT the description says each box holds “up to 52 DVD in cases”. They are not referring to the original boxes the DVD’s come in, but instead the slim-line skinny cases. Each box will only hold 26 “normal” DVD cases. I underestimated how many I needed to order by nearly half. I should have measured a stack of 26 DVD’s to see if that matched the dimensions provided. As long as you are okay with each box holding only 26 standard DVD cases, these cases are great.

Use the lids for a display and extra storage. Just set the lid on top when you need it out of the way. Put movies or games that are similar to the ones stored behind it (action, favorites, tv shows…).

I first ordered 4 of these off Amazon on 7/25/16. They worked out really great and so I ordered 10 more this past June 27th.

The reason I like them is because 1) they look pretty nice on my shelves, 2) they are a great price 3) they are a good size and 4) they hold up pretty darn good.

I previously had my CD’s in standard CD cases in Xerox boxes but I got tired of both the weight and size. So in 2016 I started switching to the thin type jewel cases. But I found even that still weighed quite a bit and still took up a lot of room, and having to modify the CD jackets was a pain the patootie. So I began switching to CD sleeves last year. Now I can fit at least 100 CD’s/Jackets/sleeves in each of these CD Storage Boxes which then allows me to keep all of my CD’s on my shelves for easy access.

The box is a great size because even 100 CD’s/jackets weigh a lot and so if you have something that holds more, it gets pretty heavy. Also, it’s a good size for organization. Not too small, not too big.

I am also very happy with how these have held up. I did not expect too much since they are essentially snap-together, laminated cardboard boxes. But the ones I bought in July 2016 are in great shape. I haven’t abused them or anything like that, but I have definitely moved them around a lot, leaving them all around my den-office including on the floor, and accessing them frequently to go through my CD’s, put stuff on top of them and vice-versa and they are still in excellent shape.

So I bought 10 more and, obviously, I recommend them to you for the reasons that they have worked for me.

As there are many comments regarding this. just wanted to inform that, like the title of the product, I did receive 2 or rather a "2 pack" as they shared the same company packaging bind. Also note worthy, I now own 4 of these and have not had 1 problem with the snaps not holding. They all snap and hold perfectly as intended so it is not at all a design/product overlook as it is perhaps a flaw on some received.

Found these originally at Kmart as they were going out of business and needed to find a new way to store/display my games (DVD cases) on my new TV stand as there was no storage. Picked the last 2 they had on a whim and figured I could always find a use for them. To my surprise they are absolutely perfect for what I needed them for and what is also great is due to my tv stand being glass the leathery material keeps them from sliding around.
After setting up the 2 I had I went on a desperate hunt to find a 3rd to complete the look (I’m a tad OCD.) To my surprise they were worth more than I thought, picking them up at a steal at $6.15 each on clearance at Kmart. After many weeks browsing around I finally caved and spent the $14 on amazon because prime shipping was available and it could potentially be 2 though I only needed the one. Luckily it was 2, so I’ll find a good use for that second one.

Depending on your plans with it your response could greatly differ. However, to simply display my video games in a safe and stylish way lining my TV stand these worked perfectly – I even set them inside the lid to give a lip to hold controllers and memory cards etc which is a complete bonus as I no longer have to worry about tangling cords or losing those stupid PS2 memory cards. I’ve never been excited over something as stupid as a DVD case but it’s exciting to have something not only function as intended but go above and beyond what you expected.

I am an avid collector of movies and video games, and I have now purchased twenty of these Snap-N-Store DVD boxes over the past 15 years — not because ANY of them have worn out, because none have! They’re just such perfect storage for physical media, no matter what that media happens to be. This box fits DVDs, Blu-Rays, any video game that comes in an Amaray case (Wii, Wii U, any game in the XBox line), PS Vita games, Nintendo 3DS games, PS3 games, and even music CDs or video games that came in crystal music CD cases (ex. PS1, Dreamcast). I haven’t tested putting Nintendo Switch games in it, but I suspect they’d fit there as well. The size would even make VHS storage a possibility to some degree, though you might not be able to utilize the space in the box properly with that one, as it truly is designed to fit the advertised number of Amaray DVD cases.

The size and design of the boxes is also a big plus. They are almost exactly the dimensions of a vertically-stacked DVD case, allowing you to stow them away under a bed or chair, in the shelf of a closet–pretty much anywhere. The lip of the box’s interior is just high enough that DVD cases inside are protected by the edges and have no pressure placed on them. There is neither extra space *inside* that allows things to flop around loose nor extra space or curved edges *outside* that take up needless room and make it harder to organize. They also feature a spot for labels on the edges to allow you to see what’s inside the box from the front. Finally, they’re a piece of cake to assemble and plenty sturdy enough to protect your movies and games as long as you aren’t doing something crazy like kicking or stomping the boxes.

Literally the only a single negative that I can think of to these Snap-N-Store boxes, and it’s a very minor gripe, is that the fact that they’re made of hard cardboard rather than plastic does limit their “stackability” vertically once you fill them up. They’re fairly heavy once full, and I have always felt a bit nervous about stacking more than two full boxes on top of one another long-term for fear of harming the structural integrity of the one on the bottom. You could probably stack 3 vertically without causing problems, but 4 would definitely be pushing it. (Again, not so much on short-term storage, but in fear of harming the box long-term.) However, this very feature likely keeps the cost of the item down, and as I said, it’s certainly firm enough to protect movies and games from regular wear and tear.

So, if you collect games or movies and DON’T have space in your home for some kind of huge mega display (or just want to keep your collection out of the dust, light, humidity, etc.), this item is absolutely fantastic. I suspect I’ll keep hitting the “buy again” button on this in the future as long as these are produced.

Stop your searching now for a dvd with original case storage box(s) You can order 1 or multiple the cost is right and my suggestion is to purchase 1 like I did to see what the product was actually like and then put it together put 26 dvd’s with there original cases in it and within 5 minutes after that i was ordering a bunch of them. I know i’m satisfied with my purchase and when i ever need more i will not hesitate to order again. ALMOST A MONTH GONE BY SINCE I STARTED USING THEM AND GOT TO SAY I LOVE THESE AND AM SO HAPPY I BOUGHT THEM. (gotta love it when things turn out great) UPDATE: I initially bout 8 DVD boxes and bought another 2 of them last week. I’m very pleased with them and they look nice too.

Between these 2 boxes, I have enough room to store 60 CDs (with full jewel cases). They fit in there comfortably as well- they don’t feel difficult to get out, the cases stay in good condition (I’m a little OCD about scratches on the cases!), and it’s easy to flip through them. They’re also definitely sturdier than I expected. Once you snap them together, they’re very secure, and will hold the weight of everything you put in them. They’re so sharp looking, and an amazing space saver!

I love these little snap n store boxes. I love music and movies and have quite a large collection. These help me so much. I usually take the cds and movies out of their cases and put them in envelopes so they take up MUCH less room. If you do this the boxes will store a ton of cd/dvds. There is enough room in the little envelopes for the cd pics/booklets and the cd/dvds, and these are just right. They are pretty sturdy too, and when you buy here you are getting the best price because they come from manufacturer. Love these boxes. There is a little tag in front to label the box too so if you are very organized you can write the contents on the tag. Best price I have found.

I have 10 of these now and yes, I have thousands of CD’s to be honest and these are truly great storage options and are sturdy and very easy to assemble. I take any CD out of an old school plastic case and put them into sleeves, so a double sided storage box like this can store hundreds of CD’s from some of my favorite artists like Elvis Costello, The Who or Wilco and it is great to store and organize them all in one very nice sturdy storage box. I cannot recommend this CD storage box more if you have lots of CD’s to keep in secure and clean in your collection like I do.
