Facts About Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector [GlasTR EZ FIT] designed for Tesla Model 3 / Y Dashboard Touchscreen – Matte/Anti Fingerprint
Yes, there’s no dimming or rainbow effect. I have Costa polarized glass lenses, and some cheap ones. Neither have any affect on it.
Hi, I purchased it for my model 3 and it’s original with packing and everything.
I believe the screen is the same as the one on my 20222 Model 3, on which it worked just fine. I don’t have a Model Y so can’t guarantee it. To be safe you might query Tesla to be sure its the same.
Yes, it’s like taking off screen protector on your phone.
I just installed one in my 2022 model 3. It costs a tab bit more than others BUT I was able to install it like a pro. It was easy and everything lined up perfectly.
My last model 3, I had a pro install it at a cost. This time I was the pro.
Use your nail in the corner and it comes right off
Since the 2022 model still uses the same 15” screen it should fit.
I removed the B&W sticker but forgot to pull the plastic sheet exposing the sticky side of the product. I set the product over the screen and when complete everything fell to the ground. I set the product over the screen and when complete everything fell to the ground. I figured out the problem and removed the plastic sheet and tried again (without the B&W sticker). It worked. Had to squeeze out two small bubbles with no problem. I also saw a small very slight dark spot on a section of screen. Again I thought I messed the installation up. The next day it was gone and it looks perfect. You’d never know my adventures by looking at it.
It will not go away on its own. If it is just an air bubble, you can just push it aside as others have said. If it is a dust particle, which looks similar to an air bubble but when pressed shows a pinpoint of dust, it will not move. It can be removed only by lifting the screen protector back up and picking it off. … It will not go away on its own. If it is just an air bubble, you can just push it aside as others have said. If it is a dust particle, which looks similar to an air bubble but when pressed shows a pinpoint of dust, it will not move. It can be removed only by lifting the screen protector back up and picking it off. This may or may not be successfully accomplished, depending on how near it is to the edge and how clean or dusty the air is when you do it–you could end up with more dust particles jumping onto the raised screen protector.
The edges are rounded. They follow the same shape as the display.
It’s not matte "black", but it is a matte finish, otherwise know as antiglare. And that’s what it is – antiglare. It is also much more resistant to fingerprints. Looks like it! I copied this from the product description. I would measure your model Y screen and compare it to the product dimensions.

I’m not sure but it’s just as responsive as not having it in…maybe 3mm? You can’t tell it thickens the screen at all.
I think it could be. The plastic guide was actually very helpful

It makes the screen more difficult to read especially when light falls upon it, washing it out. Thus partly overcome by increasing the screen brightness, and you do get quickly used to it. This is an unavoidable effect of diffusing the light, and you will no longer be blinded by sunlight reflecting off of it into your eyes or having the sunlit portion completely unreadable. The installation is very easy, but I got messed up by not completely reading and understanding the directions, but adjusted and it worked out great. Be sure to do a hard reset after the screen is installed so that the touchscreen can compensate for the pressure on the screen. My map and screen went crazy as if my fingers were dancing all over it, but after the reset (press right and left steering wheel buttons until screen goes dark), it settled down completely and my finger touches registered perfectly. I would recommend this one, but now you’ll be better prepared to install it and understand how it will appear.
So if you’re like me and you like to run all of your electronics in dark mode or night mode at all times so they’re easy on your eyes, this product might not be for you.
The installation is incredibly easy and only takes a few minutes. I had a couple of bubbles but it took no more than 3-4 minutes to work them out, and the tempered glass piece is lined up perfectly thanks to the installation guide.
During the day, if the sun is bright (here in Colorado it’s basically always bright) – then you may need to either tint your windows, or consider not getting a screen protector for your car.
If you operate your Tesla’s screen in dark mode all the time like I do, during the day you cannot see the screen very well after putting this screen protector on. I switched the setting to automatic now, because during the day I need to have day mode enabled in order to even see the screen most of the time.
That being said, day mode works great (white background) during the day, and night mode works great at night – it’s just not my preference. I like to have night mode enabled at all times.
Because of this, I’ll personally probably take the protector back off and use the screen without one, but it IS a good product if you use day mode on your Tesla. It also does a REALLY good job of preventing fingerprint smears, and does NOT affect image quality at all. I would recommend it for anyone using day mode, but not for folks that run night mode all the time.
Cannot recommend this enough!!! It stopped the glare and made the screen look great all the time with no finger prints ever or weird schmuck getting on the screen. Looks slightly colored off with polarized sunglasses but is still entirely usable. Little to no detail loss. Just get it guys it took me longer to clean my old screen off to put this on then putting this on took lol!!
Super easy install. All corners are flush with no gaps. Works with polarized sunglasses!
The applicator for this product is fantastic. I have trouble lining up tempered glass protectors. I am a computing guy and I use numerous devices that have protectors on them. If you start putting a protector on a display, then realize it is not perfectly centered on your display, if you pull it off to get it right, you ruin the glue that holds the protector on. Typically, the corners will not stick after that. In other words, you need to get it right the first time. This applicator lets you do that. Peal off the back, place the applicator over the display, press down the protector, then remove the applicator. Done. Perfect.
I have put a lot of screen protectors on a lot of different devices but, I have never installed anything that went on this perfectly and this easily. Because I was installing this on a brand new Tesla model Y, my intent was for it to go on with as high a degree of perfection as was possible. as concerned as I was about getting it on without ending up with air bubbles or debris underneath the glass, it just went on perfectly and easily. One heads up, there is a right side up to this installation. I didn’t pay that close of attention when I was putting it on and I actually ended up putting it on upside down. It only made a small variation in the alignment on the bottom part of the screen but it is almost completely imperceptible so, I elected to just leave it on but just be aware, that it is possible to put it on upside down.
A 2nd grader could have installed this. 1) used included wipes to clean screen. 2) used included microfiber cloth to wipe screen. 3) when ready, I removed the backing. 4) MAKE SURE YOU SEE THIS SIDE UP, and I set the guide starting with top 2 corners, then eased it down and secured the bottom 2. 5) I rubbed as it states diagonal from top to bottom – it shows you exactly where to rub. Waited 30 seconds as it states – it shows this as well. 6) removed the tape after 30 seconds was up. 7) removed the guide 8) removed the front protector. DONE. I used the supplied bubble remover tool, but I didn’t even need to. It installed without a single bubble.
This was the biggest screen protector I ever installed, and it was also the absolute easiest! No worrying about getting it straight. I was amazed how simple this was. I don’t know who could possibly leave a negative review for this product. I’m not even that handy and it was completely simple. Thanks, Spiegen!!!!
A matte screen protector is a MUST BUY for your Tesla! It’s not like an iPad…break one of those and you are out a few hundred dollars…no, a broken or scratched Tesla screen will be a VERY expensive item to repair or replace!
This particular screen helps to cut glare and reduce (but not eliminate) fingerprints, and makes your drive MUCH more enjoyable! It’s best feature is the ease in which it’s installed…remove the backing film, place the tray over your screen (which aligns it PERFECTLY), press down where indicated, WAIT THIRTY SECONDS (this is the important step!), remove the tray, then use the supplied squeegee tool to push any air bubbles to the sides.
It took me literally 5 minutes to install (or less) and I can’t recommend this particular one highly enough! FAR better than others that make you tape the protector to the top using multiple pieces of tape, and having you guess at alignment!
Tesla screen protection at its best! Easy to install for sure. this is what i did to install easily.
First and foremost go into your setting and enter “Clean Screen Mode” then clean the screen! I mean really clean it too get all the smudges wiped off and every little piece of dust and lint off. Then and only then, follow the directions on the screen protector installation device. place over the screen and follow the directions to a tee. When you pull that crazy huge plastic installer thing off your gonna be blown away. 100% fitment. Glare reduction is perfect. Fingerprint resistant coating is as good as it gets. For $40 you can’t get any better! Good luck and don’t rush, take your time with the screen cleaning portion!
Then sit back and enjoy your work.
This product was perfect. I wanted a screen protector for my one day old Tesla, seeing as how the computer screen IS the car so I looked around and bought this one. The process was actually fun. The plastic applicator tray for aligning the screen fit flawlessly and a neighbor came by to see the car when I was in the middle of the installation. I followed the directions and when he left, pulled the tray off to a perfectly aligned, virtually invisible screen protector. I couldn’t be more pleased. Spigen knocked this one out the park like an Aaron Judge home run. It was way easier with a better result than any of the iPhone screen protectors I have bought over the years. Buy it. You won’t be dissatisfied.
