You can just plug it in and it will work. That’s just to keep it secure so when you unplug something the whole unit doesn’t come with it

You do need a grounded outlet, I don’t know whether you can return it because you can’t use it.

The 2 outlets near by bed was already being utilized for my phone charger and an alarm clock. I needed more outlets for extra items, but I did not want to buy a giant surge protector. After researching on Amazon all of the different options, the One Beat outlet extender caught my eye. I will share the pros and cons:

Pros:
-It extends your typical 2 outlets to 5 outlets
-It has 3 typical USB ports
-It has 1 USB-C ports for fast charging
-It has a screw that will secure the extender unit into the original outlet

Cons:
-It’s a bit bulky
-It doesn’t go flush against the wall and just lays flush against the original outlet

These cons are not a dealbreaker though. If you need an outlet extender, this One Beat product has definitely worked for me.

It can be used for a single plug point or a dual one, i have a dual one, if you have si gle you may need to cut the small rod behind, clear instructions given. Working from home i have multiple displays or laptop. Literally you ca. Charge from 5 plugs, 3 usb ports ans 1 usb c port simultaneously and got it in a good deal

This was perfect! Not one issue installing it at all. My original socket is loose and so other extensions like this but without the option to screw it in would come out easy. Should of gotten this from the beginning and love having the usb and c port.

Loved this product. In addition to greatly increasing the number of outlets from a single outlet, it also had the added and very useful feature of multiple USB ports including a fast charging one. The design makes it easy to plug in multiple plugs at the same time. Very satisfied.

Works great and makes a very big difference for my outlets since it screws into the outlet box, it does not move away from the outlet or fall off, making it safer and easier. I have 4 of these outlet units and they are working great.

It’s wonderful to have multiple cords connected to this surge protector without them laying on the ground. It allows you to easily dust around your furniture. A wall until like this is a must have for homes that will collect a lot of dust.
