Privacy Access history apps stuck?

Apps listed in Privacy Access History won’t go away? Some of them are unknown and not even installed on your iPhone but they seem to track you continuously? Here is what you can do to fix it!

App Stuck In Privacy Access History?

We’ve covered the new Privacy Access History section on iPhone soon after iOS 16 was unveiled at WWDC 2022.

Recently, we’ve seen a series of users complaining about apps that won’t go away from the Privacy Access section in the Control Center:

“Can you get rid of it [app]? does it go away by itself?”

“How long does the app stay there? It won’t go away.”

Similar reports are available on Reddit:

“This app “My Mcdonald’s” is always tracking my location… how to disable it without turning my location off?”

How to Remove Apps From Privacy Access History

Apps listed in this section should go away by themselves when they stop using the Location Services.

However, it seems that an iOS 16 bug is making some apps stick in the Privacy Access History although they’re not actively tracking your location anymore.

This happens when you use app clips as showcased by this Reddit user, the complains about the My Mcdonald’s app clip!

Fix: Rebooting iPhone will clear apps stuck in the Privacy Access History! I recommend you to perform the force restart combo (Click & release Volume Up, Volume Down and press & hold the Side Button until the Apple logo is displayed on the screen).
