Mine gets hot as well, and it will "go out" periodically.
Example, I will be working and all of the sudden the ethernet will go away that I have plugged into it and the Laptop Camera I have plugged into it will go away
Yes plus it adds 3 usb ports

I bought THIS item to add wired LAN to my AndroidTV device having used yet another: Micro USB HUB Adaptor with Power, TUSITA 3-Port Charging OTG Host Cable Cord Adapter Compatible with Raspberry Pi 2 3 Pi Zero Android Smart Phone Tablet Samsung Galaxy HTC Sony Google LG / Linux
EACH of these adapters expand the "cheap" ChromeCast or Android Streaming devices to include wired LAN, and USB ports. I would suggest, if you really want all this capability, it may be worthwhile to look at alternate streaming devices which include USB and LAN ports within their main package. Sure, they may cost a bit more, but after supplementing these add-ons which is really the more costly, in-the-end?
My luck with electronic units for sale on line, they didn’t work.
No es compatible
I have only tried it on windows 10 and 7, it works great. I have not tried it on and android. The USB extension should be fine, i don’t know about the Ethernet emulation with an android.
This is not wi fi. USB to wired ethernet. Use a USB wifi dongle to add
..possibly wifi to TV. I’d suggest a Chromecast with TV
This particular device only has a USB connection to your device. If your Cube doesn’t have an available USB port but it does have a USB C port you will need to order the device that Amazon has that looks like this but has included the USB C connector. Then it will work for you.
If the product did not come with disk with drivers then I sggest you return it and get the simpler tp-link usb to ethernet. I would encourage you to upgrade to windows 10, life will be simpler.
I don’t know why it wouldn’t. Mine is plugged into my laptop. Works fine with flash drives and my ethernet.
I haven’t Tried that but I connect my microphone and it works great. I connect Ethernet there, a light ring, usb, and my mic, and Sometimes my camera.
It has 3 USB ports but no power supply.
Q1. I would not know. I do not have a smart TV. Q2. I use it as an Ethernet Port on my Surface Pro, and connected a device to charge. The device started to charge.

I looked up this model mouse and with 45K + 4.6 ratings that’s a very reliable mouse. But sometimes devices just don’t communicate. If U have a windows OS go to start/settings/devices/Mouse there U will find a cursor speed adjustment. Try changing this up or down and look at the results of movement. This does effect the "lag" time. Outside of these suggestions U have to ask a Pc rocket scientist. Good Luck me
If MacBook Air has a USB port, then download and install the updated driver at the website listed in the printed instructions that came with the devise. If that doesn’t work, try it on another computer. If it still doesn’t work, the devise is defective.

I bought my wife an ethernet/USB adapter called “TECKNET Aluminum 3-Port USB 3.0 Hub with RJ45 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter” a few weeks ago. That one worked perfectly so I decided to buy another one for a different computer, as we’ve switched all of our devices in the house to ethernet to avoid glitchy wifi.
The one I had bought said it would take almost a week to arrive, so I bought this one, thinking that it would be the same thing. Unfortunately, it’s not. This one runs very warm (the other one has no temperature to the touch) and does not have any ethernet blinking lights, so it was hard to tell if it was doing anything at first (it wasn’t — I needed to reboot my computer in order for it to work).
Minor additional things — it comes in an unbranded box, so it’s clear that it’s just a generic model many sellers sell, and there is no writing next to any of the ports, making it different than the item pictured.
It still works, thus the 4 star rating, but I’d definitely recommend the other model instead — it’s worth the two extra dollars.
I teach online and my laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet plug. I’ve been relying on WiFi, but it was too often not good enough. I was super skeptical Of these adapters because it just boggles my mind how it works. After another online teacher reassured me that she uses an adapter and it works perfectly, I decided to give it a try. I also needed more usb outlet, and this little thing has been amazing! My internet connection is top notch. Definitely recommend.
I like it! So far, just PROs
1. It works with our very old, small laptop that we’re using for our kids their internet based shows to watch on our not so smart old tv
2. Our OS is Linux so I was initially worried about plug & play compatibility
3. The company shortly after receiving this sent me an email with driver links, in case of problems. When I informed them I was using Linux and which one, they replied quickly with a link for a driver.
Frankly, I never needed the links. The thing was plug and play.
We currently have it wired to the old laptop for watching and there’s a bluetooth dongle on one of the USB slots because am using a wireless mouse and keyboard. The 3 extra USB has made it more convinient, even if it’s $1+ more expensive than the cheapest wire only to USB alternative I saw.
Might be getting one for my SOs laptop since it doesn’t have a network cable slot.
Just got a Macbook 2015 and there are only two usb ports with and two useless thunderbold and not even an ethernet port.
This hub is the salvation: it adds 2 USB ports and one ethernet port – yes, I want hard wire to the router.
You ask, why two ports when the hub shows three ports ? Well, you have to connect to one of the computer ports and that one is gone – it is accessible on the hub, leaving 2 others.
Still, doesn’t matter: I’d recommend this hub for the price and the ethernet port and being a life saver.
I was very happy with this adapter. I had to wire my mom’s Chromebook to our wifi booster with a LAN cable as our internet wouldn’t reach her MIL’s apartment no matter what I tried. It worked fantastic until she got a new Chromebook and I realized that there wouldn’t be a LAN port on it. This adapter was the answer. I’m extremely happy with it and would recommend it to anyone. It’s a very simple plug and play device and the extra USB ports are a great bonus. I wasn’t sure that they would work for what I wanted to use them for (plugging a small set of USB speakers into my mom’s Chromebook) but the extra ports worked great. All in all a great device and fast (Prime) shipping at a great price.
Picked this dongle up to toss in my work bag. My employer had recently moved us to Microsoft Surface laptop. My model had one USB port and nothing in the way of a hard wired network connection, should I need it. This little beauty solved multiple issues. I do use a wireless connection most of the time, but this allows me the flexibility, should I need it. Additionally, I now plug the dongle into my one USB port on my Surface, and have access to the three USB ports on the dongle. Great little solution that didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. So if something should happen to it, I won’t sweat it. Just grab another from Amazon. Highly recommend.
At the expense of only one USB3 port, you get 3 USB ports (2, really, since you used one to get the 3, but I digress), as well as a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port. I am using this with Arch Linux and UDEV detection is perfect. You plug it in, and in about 5 seconds, you have a (second in my case) IP interface. Mine autoconfigged as enp5s0f4u1u1u3, which is a bit wordy, but I changed it.
Build quality is good. Feels nice and solid.
I have used several of these in the past few years. I had to at home as the network adapter went out and it was built into the motherboard, so in order to change it, the whole motherboard had to be replaced. Does anyone else think this a dumb design? It’s a lot cheaper to replace just network adapter than a whole motherboard, right?) Anyway, I used one of these to give me my network connection back. Worked like a charm. Then, the network adapter went out on my work computer and I got another one for that computer and, again, worked like a charm. I can recommend these Ethernet USB adapters.
The case is very sturdy; the alumnum actually feels good holding it.
Works with Windows 10.
With Windows Vista, the RJ45 connection worked perfectly.
For the USB hub portion, a USB drive worked fine, but for some reason mice didn’t work in Vista (they worked in Windows 10).
I contacted support via email, and they were responsive (replied within a day), and had a friendly attitude.
But we could not get the mice to work.
The problem might be with my particular laptop (Toshiba A205).
So mice might work for you if you have a different machine.
I would rate the company very reputable as they tried to help.
Working at home during the pandemic, everyone kept telling me to be “hard wired” during zoom calls so I wouldn’t sound like a frozen underwater robot. No ethernet port on my laptop! I got this instead of a plain old add on ethernet port because I consider USB ports to be like electrical outlets in that you always need more than you have 😀 And the price and reviews were good! While I have to admit I wish it also had an HDMI port, that’s a luxury that can wait till later. I’ve been using this for about 6 months now and its been perfectly dependable even with all the ports in use. If you don’t need fancy, this is a great bet.
