To be honest I don’t use this device for a extended period of time but did notice that it was quite warm when I unplugged it. Anything that has electrical current running through it will get warm or hot so please be careful.

Yes it works on my HP and Dell as well as a walmart cheapo brand. I have had NO issues with it, just make sure you turn off wifi so it utilizes the ETHERNET connection to avoid a conflict.

The Network adaptor on my motherboard quit. I considered sending back the board but I really didn’t want to take it all apart and rebuild just to have the risk of another component on the RMA board I get back not working.
I plugged this in to my usb port on the back and pugged in the RJ45 and instantly had land connection. I ran speed test and got 180/MBs download speed. Faster than what the Mother board was doing. I would high recommend this. If you have a laptop as well you could bring this anywhere and get wifi/lan connection with this in any hotel.

3 month review.

I have a Sony X85J 4K ultra HD TV. The integrated Ethernet port is only the old 10/100, that’s a max of 100mbps in speed.

Even though Google will tell you that ultra HD streaming only requires 25-50mbps for HD streaming that just isn’t the case.

Through testing, while watching a 4k ultra HD documentary on Netflix it would play fine for awhile but then the connection would jump to the max 100mbps during a buffer and the picture would degrade. This happened a few times each episode.

After connecting this adapter to the USB 3.0 port on the TV, watching the same show, the buffering issue disappeared, and in the same testing could see the buffering jump was hitting 110-125mbps.

It’s sad you pay hundreds of dollars for a 4k television and they skimp out on the connections. This adapter made the experice what it should be.

FINAL NOTE: the reason I use the Ethernet port is it’s right next to the router and it eliminates one more device using WiFi in our house.

I loved the fact that it was a plug and play install.
I bought these for my laptop because the Ethernet port was busted and the WiFi was touch and go. It got 125mbps down with 18 up on USB 2.0 then tested at 165 mbps down with 22 up on USB 3.0. My maximum speeds are 400 down and 25 up. It is a huge improvement from not having working ethernet port and WiFi that cuts in and out. Not getting full speed however, it just needed to work.
It does get warm while it’s being used, but like any device that’s just normal.
They also work on USB splitters so if you are short on plugs there you go. From my testing they keep the same speeds when using a splitter. Definitely recommend.

I bought this to complete my 3rd Party Nintendo Switch Dock, and unfortunately it didn’t work, as it needed a MAC Address, but oh well, at least it works for the phone! I also used a 4k Cable to connect my switch to the TV, from your Trusty company, UniAccessories! Works well with computers as well, and there is no software or program needed to install. Just plug and go!

Obviously, there’s nothing complicated about this, so not much to review. It works exactly as it should, and it has a nice design with the braided (and slightly long) cable.
The main benefit here is that it’s an excellent option for Mac AirBooks, which only have one Lightning Port. When you need that to go to an external display (or something else), this adapter becomes a go-to for wired Internet access.

Your actual mileage may vary. My laptop does not have an ethernet connection but my desktop PC does. When I run a speed test on my desktop my typical download speed was 75 mbps. When I installed this device to my USB 3.0 port and connected my ethernet cable my download speed doubled.

I’m running CentOS 8 Stream on a GigaByte BRIX server. I was actually looking to replace my WiFi connection, but saw this and realized, I could finally have a bridgeable device for my VMs as well as replace my WiFi. It worked like a charm. Had this connection up and running in less than 1 minute. Wish I could always get this much bang for my 15 bucks ($13.59 now, I’m told). So, I’m ordering 2 more for my other GigaByte BRIX servers.

Needed this for a laptop with no Ethernet port. I just plugged it in to my gigabit network and a USB port and I instantly had a fast network connection. Running Linux Mint 20.1 on a Dell laptop.

I bought a Uni USB to ethernet adaptor about 1 year ago for my XPS 13. It worked fine until about 2 weeks ago when it stopped working (indication lights out; no data pass through). I was about to give up and buy a new one. After all, it’s only ~15 dollars and one won’t expect it to last forever. Then I recalled somewhere life-time warranty was mentioned, so I dug that info. out and sent an email to: [email protected]
Within hours I received a response and after one round of trouble shooting through email, it was deemed that the adapter was indeed out and they sent me a replacement. The replacement arrived just in couple of days and worked all fine. All of these happened within a few days: from a Wed. to the Monday after. I’m very impressed by their customer service!
