If it is 15 amps you are technically safe to use this. If you use this with a larger microwave it may under power the microwave and damage the oven. It is more likely the tap would over heat and cause it to trip. Try specifying 20A or 20 amp surge protector in your searches.

Will this work in a single outlet? Or does ut really need a double outlet for the ‘grounding’?

It will work on a single outlet, but you will need to remove the plastic pin in the bottom and this might void any warranty if any.

can I used this with 220v AC?

Nope, it has a 110v plug on it shouldnt ever have 220v going to a 110v duplex that this will fit. Hope this helped.

I am trying to plug in a big computer that consume 1700w. Will this be able to handle it?

No. I would not trust this as a power supply for my computer. You should look in to a much larger universal power supply with surge protection. This wall charger just converts a reg plug to multiple plugs with usb outlets.

Can you charge Android devices with the usb ports

I have an iPhone 13 and it charges it. I also connect a charger for PS controller and that works fine too.

The plastic goes into the socket? Is that safe

I’m not sure what plastic, but I plugged my whole thing in the wall.

Do you make one with 2 usb-c ports?

Yes

Will this outlet work of a grounded extension cord?

If you want the USB slots then just get an extension cord that has the USB slots. There are quite a few options out there, i just wouldn’t recommend the Anker ones. I’ve heard they been catching fire. Stay safe!

Wont stay in outlet when plugging stuff in and out?

This is not intended for you to yank a plug out with one hand. Use your left hand to hold the charger in the outlet. Use your right hand to pull the plug out.

Info About USB Wall Charger Surge Protector – Addtam 5 Outlet Extender with 4 USB Charging Ports ( 1 USB C), 3-Sided 1800J Power Strip Multi Plug Outlets Adapter Widely Spaced,Black (Reviews From Amazon)

Extremely happy with this device

I absolutely love this product. We only have one outlet on our kitchen counter and were doing a small renovation in the kitchen…just some paint, adding some IKEA cabinets and some new hardware. We have been forever needing to unplug one device or another here and there depending on what was needed at the time. Some of those devices have very large (wide) plugs. I found this multi-outlet/surge suppressor on Amazon and it was the perfect solution. Our fat plugs are in the angled ports, leaving plenty of room for all ports to be used at once if necessary. Also, the fact that there are built-in USB-A AND a USB-C port directly on the front meant we didn’t have to unplug our charging bricks from our bedside plugs to relocate to the kitchen. We just grabbed an extra cable and plugged it in and even got some fast charging out of it as well. So happy with this decision!

Usb-c port causes high pitched whine. Did I get a defective device or have others experienced this?

The product is pretty good. My main issue with it is that when I plug in my usb-c charger for my iPad Pro to the usb-c port, the device emits a content, high pitched whine. It’s really noisy and pretty annoying.

The whole point of purchasing the device was to overcome the issue of lack of outlet space in my office. However the whining is loud enough that it is distracting even on Zoom calls. Has anyone else had an issue of noise coming from the device when using the usb-c port. (Note: using the plugs, and the usb-a ports seem to work fine.) I chose this device specifically for the usb-c port, and I’m not sure if the one I got was faulty or that the device can’t handle usb-c…

Doesn’t work with certain outlets, won’t fit if reset/test buttons on outlet

I returned this because it won’t work with an outlet that has the test/reset breaker thing in the middle. But it looks great and works in regular outlets. Just didn’t work for me.

Stabilizer Post is a MUST for outlets without center screw. Great solution

So happy with this Outlet Extender which also offers surge protection, USB and USB-C [for my 5G Galaxy mobile], as well as 5 outlets. The Stabilizer Post which fits into the lower outlet is perfect so the unit does not fall forward, since my outlet does not have a middle screw. Make sure you consider this as most other extenders only had the screw for stabilizing will not work in my outlet. As there are 5 outlets, some angled on the sides, plus the ports, I do not have to keep unplugging chargers, phone soap and more. Very pleased with this unit, all it offers and the added surge protection.

It’s great, I will be buying one for every outlet!

Love this. I’m going to order one for every outlet we have! I decided to use this one in the bathroom, because we have a bidet and only 1 outlet with 2 places to plug things into it. I also like to use a plug-in air freshener in there and I have a small japanese water fountain that I can finally plug in. Not to mention a hair dryer and a hair straightener. It’s amazing to finally have a way to plug it all in and have a secure outlet that will let you know if it’s too much/fire hazard. Great for peace of mind. Not to mention the USB ports!

Great product

It’s great, just don’t use more than 3 USB middle chargers at a time.

Great product for good price

Deffinately a great deal for this item, works very well, haven’t noticed it getting hot or anything yet, I have 3 items plugged into it plus one of the USB ports, love this item i would recommend it for sure. Feels nice a sturdy in your hand. It does plug into both sockets in the wall, the prongs and ground will go into the top socket and there’s a 2nd ground that goes into the second/bottom sockets ground port, didnt notice this befor buying but its all good because it works great, if you only have 1 socket with one prong and ground hole then you won’t beable to use it but otherwise fantastic so far.

Black plug outlet

These look very nice, they sit flush and I love the micro usb option. I have white and black. Both are great. My apt is old and low on plug outlets. I’ve tried a few other styles & this one looks best . And since my old bldg is prone to destructive power surges I need these to prevent great loss. 8 years I’ve waited to be reimbursed by management after a real bad surge. 5 years for another.

Saves me space

This outlet extender was a lot more affordable then me trying to hire an electrician to replace the outlet, and it uses up no floor space like a power strip does. My husband can’t have anything in the walk path to trip on because of his walker. This provided ample sockets for our bedroom, and it also had usb ports for charging our other devices. The only problem we had was that the 3rd prong doesn’t fit in all my outlets, only the older ones.

Exactly What I Need

I am an organized person. I don’t like wires that are all over the place; I want them neat. First time I saw this, I knew it’s what I need/want. I love the design and that there’s ports for USB. It’s sturdy and I hope it’ll last a long, long time. I have 6 of these all over my house. Would definitely recommend.
