Yes the screw doesn’t have to be in but helps secure it if you put something heavier on it he shelf area. I hope that makes sense.

You dont have to use the screw and you may have to cut the little tab that goes into the bottom plug. It’s not going to be as sturdy but will work. Really though I would just switch to a regular duplex outlet though because why have a decorative outlet and then cover it with this expander so you will never see it. It’s really not hard to switch and I’m sure you can find a video on YouTube how to switch the outlet. With the screw you dont have to worry about accidentally unplugging everything every time you want to unplug something.

You will have to break it off, but it is possible. When my first outlet extender arrived, the 2nd post was broken off in the box. Yes, you can still use the outlet extender, but it will be less stable with only 1 outlet to plug into.

It will become a little smaller but as far as I remember you can use it upside down but not for this to heavy, and also remember to screw it to the outlet.

Our master bath only had 1 double outlet near the sink, and with each of us using an electric tooth brush, his razor, and my hair straightener, 1 just wasn’t cutting it. Now we have 6 single outlets and an extra shelf to store the tooth brushes on. It screws into the outlet through the center hole, so it’s incredibly sturdy, and the shelf is non-slip. This is one of the best things I’ve found on Amazon.

I bought this for my kitchen. It works great. A 4th gen Echo Dot fits on the shelf with room to spare. The bad. It does not really work with a GFI outlet. The unit plugs into a standard 3 prong outlet on top and then has a plastic pin that should go into the bottom outlet for added stability. I just learned the bottom plug on a standard GFI is ever so slightly lower. This necessitates breaking off the plastic pin.

Very easy to use and provides plenty of charging and AC outlets. The storage tray on the top is also a nice feature. The only negative about the storage tray is that it tends to cover up the top USB charging ports. This is more pronounced when you plug the system into an AC outlet close to the floor. You have to bend down to get a good look at the ports or you have to take off the tray to see them. Other than that it is a very good product.

You don’t need to have the shelf, so if you want it behind a piece of furniture, that’s ok, too. I actually bought this for the ladies locker room at my work. The girls are always leaving their phones on the floor to charge, and I’ve heard a couple of them say they forgot their brick. This solved all those problems, and the price was unbeatable. I just called it my gift to all the ladies at work.

Gets the job done! The plank stand is sturdy. It holds 2 phones, our doorbell camera (while charging), headphones & our mini portable amp without falling or dropping. We’ve had zero problems with sparks or fires regarding this product. The only slight issue is that of you don’t screw the outlet in, you’ll need to hold it while removing regular plugs. I love this product & I will be ordering one more!

Got this for my boyfriend because he has issues with his charger port and needs to be in a specific position. Works perfect! Love the usb ports, less bulky and can plug in so many devices at the same time. It’s been a lifesaver in our apartment that only has two plugs in the bedroom.

I was nervous buying this…. But I’m extremely happy that I did. It’s perfect. It’s solid. It screws into the socket. So it doesn’t move. All the plugs and the stand make it worth it even more. Then there’s an airpod holder on the top. For you to put up when you’re in the bathroom. I’m sure it can be used universally wherever needed! Definitely buy! Great product for the price!
