Want to give your machine a powerful boost? Don’t look any further! Take advantage of this one-of-a-kind offer on the Intel Core i5-12600K Processor, which is now 12% off and only $169.96 on Amazon. The i5-12600K is great for gaming, making content, and everyday computing chores because it has great performance and advanced features. This cutting-edge processor lets you do a lot of things at once and do them all quickly. Don’t miss this one-time chance to get one of Intel’s newest and most advanced processors at a price that can’t be beat.
The Core i5-12600K is a big deal for Intel because it lets players choose a processor that can run any game at 4K resolution and all the settings, with frame rates higher than anything AMD has to offer. IPC is great for games, and the six “Golden Cove” P-cores give any current AAA game all the brains it needs. The i5-12600K is a great choice for today’s productivity jobs, even if you’re not playing games.
Our tests show that Intel really does beat AMD “Zen 3” at games. Even though it has fewer cores, the i5-12600K beats the best Ryzen 9 5900X and 5950X parts in the scientifically important 720p resolution that shows where CPUs slow down. These are because the 12 threads on the P-cores give games enough speed and parallelism. There are games where the “Gracemont” E-cores actually improve speed, and there are games where turning them off slightly improves where the threads are placed.

Motherboards with the Z690 chipset and Intel’s Alder Lake processors will be able to use it. Read about the chipset and some of the first 60+ motherboards in our list of Z690 motherboards. Existing air and water coolers for LGA1200 and LGA115x platforms won’t work with 600-series motherboards because the new LGA1700 socket is bigger and has a lower Z-height. Upgraders will have to either buy a new cooler or get a change kit from the cooler maker. Alder Lake chips have up to 16 PCIe 5.0 lanes and four more PCIe 4.0 lanes that can be used for M.2 storage. For GPUs, those lanes are split into x16 or x8. For storage slots, they are split into x4 and x4.
There are already plans to make PCIe AICs that can work with PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSDs, but they don’t exist yet. Intel added 12 PCIe 4.0 lanes to the 14nm Z690 chipset, which makes it even more connected. It already has 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes. The DMI link between the chip and chipset now has twice as much speed. It went from an x8 DMI 3.0 pipe that could deliver 7.88 GB/s to an x8 DMI 4.0 connection that could deliver 15.66 GB/s. This much-needed increase in bandwidth lets connected RAID arrays send and receive more data.
